Just returned from a great weeks holiday, I found the resort and the hotel to be great value. I was a little unsure of this destination, partly because this was my first visit to this country, but found the county,it's people to be most charming. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to my friends, dispite having read a few not so sparkling reviews.
I just hope they can stay remote from the Euro for a few more years, Value for money or what.

Please please please what ever you do don't get booked into this hotel. Probably one of the worst hotels that I have ever been in. Should be half a star if that. Rooms were outrageous, maids as miserable as sin, reception staff most unhelpful and sometimes bordering on the rude and as for our 'fantastic rep' Laura Dodd, she was one of the most laziest people I have met as far as a rep is concerned. Restaurant food was awful ended up with stomach bug, staff had stained shirts and blouses every evening, tables not cleared, dirty table cloths and to crack a smile would have been too much. The pool was disgusting and needed to be dreaded, had to go to hotel next door to swim. What ever you do do not book this hotel, it is perilously vile completely ruined our very expensive holiday.

The hotel was lovely, better than i had expected very clean and the rooms were lovely and spacious. They had the avaliability to spilt into 2 beds or keep them as a double. This is really good for all the groups going out of friends going out there!
The pool was lovely the first half of the holiday sunbeds were always in use so i recommend that u get there early to get one and sleep in the sun! The second half of the second week was when the families started to come on holiday. This made the pool crowded and with all the children playing and splashing there was never a moment peace!!
Breakfast was the same everyday and a little boring,
The highstreet is crammed full of lots of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. Night time is when this all gets started though.
There is alot of variety with the food so you dont have to worry about being stuck eating things that you wont like. I would recommend Vagabonds which is a walk along the beach or Fat Cats which is a little bit further away but worth the walk, they do the best bangers and mash i have tasted with apple pie to finish off with.
Places to stay away from: Mc Donalds, they are over priced and will almost always over charge you unless you quote how much it says on the menu. (The problem with that is the menu is so far away you cant really read it!) Amazon steak house again they are over prices, even if you receive a 15% off wristband and the atmosphere is so loud you cant think!
The excursions we went on were ok,
The bar crawl wasnt worth the money that you paid for it as you only got 4 shots in 4 bars and spent more time standing around while the reps tried to organise 30 people. We saw far bigger and better bar crawls but they were all scandinavian so we could join.
The lazy day cruise was really good and alot of fun i wont spoil any of the surprises for you but you will definaly enjoy it, plus you get free food and drink!
Over all the hotel isnt as noisey with drunks as other have reported. I had a good nights sleep every night. The room was always tidy and we had fresh towels. Although there are no safes in the room you can leave you passports etc at reception or purchase a saftey deposit box both are really safe!
The surrounding area is great and it is no trouble to get anywhere quickly. Personally i would go back again as it was a blast! Although next time i would make sure that i go when the children are at school.
Perfect for hen do/stag dos, groups of friends going away, clubbing holidays. Families should beware that some material found on the highstreet and around there can be quite explicit so not exactly perfect for children of a young age.

The hotel was clean and staff appeared friendly however this was not true!!! For anyone planning to stay at the Yavor i would advise you not to. During our stay we had phones and digital cameras STOLEN from our locked room. Reception tried to pin the blame on other people stayin at the hotel. There is no point in trying to report your items stolen as there is one english translator at the local police station and from experience i spend 5 hours sittin at the station then was turned away without any help. More to the point there was 20 other english people waiting to be seen at the police station and to my suprise all were from the Yavor!!! I must say during my stay i NEVER ONCE FELT SAFE, PROSTITUTES hung about the hotel entrance and many people i met during my stay were mugged by them. The most scariest of all is that I and other crowds new for a fact that it was security that were letting themselves into the rooms and stealing peoples belongings. IT'S ONE BIT SCAM at the Yavor so Please dont stay there because u will be setting yourself up for a fall and wont enjoy ur holiday. Altough the reps were nice enough they were money grabbing and i would say part of the Scam too

Yavor Palace Hotel; Well it isn't a palace so don't expect it to be, to be fair considering what we paid then the hotel is an adequate base camp, breakfast was the same every day but it served it's purpose and kept you going until lunch time, if your looking for food like at home then you shouldn't be abroad, we didn't try the evening meals but our friends said they were ok.
This is our second and last time at sunny beach, we have noticed that there are an awful lot more 18-30 type events going on, which isn't surprising as Spain ect has become so expensive. The comments made about the Mafia are true so you need to keep your head down and not cause any trouble, they do stand out as there the only guys in Porsche Cayenn's and other big black 4x4s and Audi's
I would say on the whole the food at the various restaurants on the sea front is quite good however if you venture in land a bit then you will find the same meals at half the price, one nice place was the Swan, very small and outside, but very good food and a lovely waitress called Genka, also only 1lev for a Vodka !!
As for prices well Vodka 1 to 3 Lev, Bear 80 Stinkys to 3.50 Lev, Small water 1 lev, Sun Bed 7Lev, Umbrella 7Lev, Petrol/ltr 2.35Lev, 50 Stinkys for a pee if charged, Pizza 6Lev.
As people have said before it is cheap, the sun is bloomin hot and there are a few mozzies about.
The airport is a joke, you will end up all cuing outside on your flight home so be prepared.
Back to the Yavor, the pool is clean and about chest deep, no lifeguards so keep an eye on the kids, there is a small water park next door which is 15lev for the slides plus the sun bed hire, however the water is filthy !!! Don't swallow it !!
So this was our second trip there and the second time with Bulgarian Bum !!! Been back nearly a week and still rather loose !!!
Not a bad holiday, Bulgaria is still cheap but for how long, when and if they get the euro then prices will rocket just like Spain.

we arrived at this hotel in the early hours and were pleasently suprised at the look of the hotel .we were quickly and efficiently shown to our rooms.hotel staff were polite, friendly and welcoming despite the time.
rooms were basic but very clean
dont understand why people slated the food.you have to remember you are not in england, there was plenty to choose from and you would find something you liked.
a bit of a queue for the toaster in the morning.
There were mainly british at the hotel and towels were on every single bed by breakfast which is unfair but just remove them as it says in reception that this is not allowed.
if you dont like the food it is cheap to eat out anyway.
karaoke at night in the hotel isnt up to much really but that is partly due to nobody wanting to get up and sing.
loads to do in sunny beach and the beach is great, massive waves (so funny) but be aware you have to pay for sun loungers and umbrellas.
back in the hotel the maids work non stop and tidy your room everyday and leave clean towels etc
great little shop for all your snacks etc and good, clean tattoo place next door to hotel.
all in all we had a great time at yavor palace we couldnt fault it at all,it is a great as a 3* hotel and would definatly go back.
if you are hesitating about this hotel 'dont' you will have a great time :)

Still here at this hotel! Where to start. Our room overlooks the main strip with a casino outside our window. Strobe lighting on all night till day break hotel bins under the window and the bins collected at 7am every mornig, not much sleep. My sister and her husband and 7yr daughter have a full view of the comings and goings of the erotic bar and the constant tooting of clients cars picking up the girls. None of this you will find in the brocher. Only one lift in the whole hotel and it only takes the adults so watch out if youre trying to get in with a case.Pool bar does food but you can wait an hour. Reception staff a bit nippy and no night porters or security. This week its a lot like club 18-30. My opinion I WONT BE BACK HERE, to this hotel and weve done Bulgaria every year for the past 8yrs.

Yavor Palace, thinking of going? Or just booked it? Here you are reading a few reviews, unusually you would have notice a complete contrast in reviews which leads you too be very sceptical about either booking or going which ever the case may be. I urge you to read my review before selecting your holiday destination. In my review I am going to try and outline a few things in more detail for you. Firstly I will state the obvious, a holiday after all is what you make it, correct?
Now I will start with the resort, if you are going for a luxury or peaceful holiday you have sure booked, or are looking to book the wrong place. We have to remember that Sunny Beach is renown for its extremely cheap prices. This in turn brings a certain type of crowd, therefore if you’re a group of young ladies or lads you are going to love it. However in complete contrast, and you are taking your family here you are less likely too (this explains the pure un-frequency in reviews).
So we have established Sunny Beach is cheap to keep it short. This means that if you are looking to spend your week intoxicated at night and then plan to lay in the gorgeous weather on golden beaches during the day with music blasting from all directions you’ve come to the right place, cheap flights, cheap hotel, great weather, great beaches, cheap alcohol and food most of which are key to enjoying a group holiday of the above sort.
The hotel. Where to start, I’d like to try and get you to understand points from both sides regarding the hotel.
Food - the food is not, or even close to the expectations you had imagined and for me was the main downfall for the hotel, having said this you have to remember that it has been batch cooked and therefore a little cold. Because at the end of the day the staff cannot continue for hours on end to cook food for YOU and YOU only so that it meets your requirements.
Maids - The maids as a whole are highly efficient, new towels, new toilet paper, new bed sheets and a quick general clean of your room on a daily basis. Some reviews state that the maid comes across as pushy and insists on cleaning your room. This leads me back to the resort due to its cheapness of alcohol and food it attracts the lads and ladies on group holiday (not the cleanest of people as a whole) that said I would not like to clean a room once at the end of a week if I was the maid.
Staff - All members of staff at the Yavor palace fit into two groups, either the most friendliest people you will ever meet always there to help you or unfortunately the complete opposite. We have to remember that up until a few ear ago none of us reading this would have thought they would be ending up in Bulgaria. The people as a whole then have yet to adapt the customer service skills we experience every day.
Extra Information
Nightlife - Night in the resort of Sunny Beach is varied to say the least and booming. The main attractions seem to be the big night clubs such as Disco Orange & Iceberg. Both provide different types of music and atmosphere, this said you will not find it hard to locate great bars/clubs to meet you satisfaction.
Mafia - Yes the mafia are out and out in numbers, this is as much as a good thing as it is a bad, while out there you will get the sense that everything and I mean everything operates around the mafia. This means for those of you out there to have a good time and cause no trouble will love it, cheap prices on everything to get you spend your money, those of you on the flip side of that argument however will find your self in trouble or their debt.
Pick pockets - Due to the above section the police are reluctant to do much themselves which unfortunately presents the crime world such as pickpockets to continue to operate, wise up quickly and you will have no trouble.
I have therefore rated the hotel a 7.5 out of 10.
Just remember, if you’re a family after a peaceful holiday, go to a different travel agent they clearly do not want what’s best for you and your family.
If you’re a group or lads or ladies YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT!

Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!..isnt very cheap like people say 80p a pint there none of that over there! You have to pay for eveythink even using the toiltes in mc d's.....The hotel was dirty. and staff wasnt very polite hardley spoke good english..The rooms backed on to an old factory which was very dirty and very loud in the moring! TV didnt work which we told the bell boy number of times to fix...there was tiles in the pool which were comeing up and could feel it! Breakfast was not very nice very basic and was not very fresh!
Now the reps well lets say Laura and Wez didnt know what fun was!.. Very boring 2gther and hardley looked like they enjoyed there job! The welcome meeting was just a scam to get money out of people you don t need to pre book your flights like they sed! And the reps didnt even play any games around the pool during the day as it was a family hotel!.. Took alot to get a conversation out of them and wen u did the didnt look happy to anserw you questions! I'm no holiday rep but i could of done a better job then them 2! x

The hotel was fine all up until the day we left when the cleaner stole a lamp-shade and tried to charge us for it. Even the receptionist knew it was a pack of lies as she handed us our passports and said not to worry about it. Our room door had also previously been kicked in and poorly repaired but this problem was sorted in a few hours. Not a bad place but just let down by staff you cannot trust.
Sunny beach itself is a good laugh, with cheap drinks, cigs and food. Just got to keep your wits about you and not make too much of a nuisance of yourself and you should be fine.

The hotel ok, the things that bothered us was the food as they only catered for Germans, lights shining into rooms was a bit of a problem, we heard that most of the hotels in the area was ran by the Mafia, we backed onto the Kuban hotel which was full of prostitutes, there isn't enough sunbeds. However the maids where really nice and worked non-stop, the staff were also nice except one of the receptionists who gets stressed out easily. The lifts are really small and most of them say staff only. The hotel is situated in the lively area on the main strip. Watch out for human eating, centipede like creatures swimming in the sea. The reps where not very helpful.
