What is there to say about the Yavor,
Well firstly the place is kept very clean with made (who is very rude and shovey) coming into your room every morning replacing towels and toilet rolls and cleaning. The food is disgusting! It gave me food poisoning the first day I had breakfast and dinner. I never ate breakfast again and if I ate dinner I would just grab a plate of chips (the only thing I could stomach). The bar is 24 hr witch is good for lads, and there is a supermarket, tattoo studio and medical office all attached to the hotel. The only very bad points about the hotel are firstly the band of pick pocketing prostitutes that loiter outside the entrance. They stole my friend’s mobile phone on the first night (we knew to avoid them, and them us from that night on). The other bad point is that they don’t know how to treat customers yet; there was a minor cigarette burn on one of the patio tables of our room. On discovery the maids informed the managment who inturn issued us with a 60 LV!!! fine. But other than that (for bulgaria) the hotel is ok.
As far as bulgaria is concerned (sunny beach more specifically) It is ideal for lads or ladys on tour. Loads of good night spots, the hotel is five minuets away from my favourite club "iceburg" witch has an array of shocking and fantastic live music and a great atmosphere. The drinks are dirt cheap so are fags. The best thing is that bulgarians dont use optics they jus pour streight out of the bottle. An bear in mind that there single is a doubble to us. The amount of time i ordered a double vodka redbull and had a half pint glass full of vodka and a bottle of red bull brought to my table.
An aspect you want to watch out for is the corruptness of sunny beach. Almost everything is owned and run by the mafia (including the police). The mafia are fair and give you pleanty of warning but i saw plenty of leary [-] ****ed over by big heavy bastards in black. Just keep your head down and dont go looking for trouble, and by all means dont piss in the street or have sex on the beach. They will leave you alown, after all you are there income.
All in all as i say it is a ideal lads holiday location witch is exactlly what i went there for so i had a fantastic time. Any one going soon have a fantastic time and enjoi it while you can.

rooms were clean but faulse accusations to get money off us like attacking maids when were on the beach broken doors wich we got blamed for food was horrible staff were helpfull when my friends bag was stolen wich had passports in they are still there from sunday trying to get home wich will cost them over 1000 levs each for taxis to sofia and flights and new passports watch out for the thiefs they stole all that his wallet myn and my friends chain also

We stayed at the Yavor Palace from June 27th - July 11th. Our room was clean and tidy with nice facilities...'large walk in shower' Probably one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in.
We had breakfast each morning in the hotel restaurant as we were staying half board & thought we may aswell save money by eating here. I didn't barely touch the hot food...wasn't anything to write home about. The staff in the restaurant had attitude problems and were not very helpful!! On the other side the evening meal was slightly better and healthier. We ate in the hotel probably 5 or 6 times through out our stay.
Sunny beach as a hole is a really up and coming resort, nice hot white sands and the sea was nice too. It cost us about £9.00 (21 lv) for 2 sunbeds and a parasol per visit. Even the people who work on the beach are really moody. When we were sold on the holiday we were told that it'll be like going to Turkey but without the hassle....That's not true, it's just the same!
Sounds like a massive moan about our 2 week holiday I know, apart from a few bad bits both my girlfriend and I had a great time.
The weather is tempremental also. If your thinking of going to Sunny Beach just watch out where you book, I wouldn't go back there personally.

Myself and my Friend went to this hotel for a week at the end of May 2008, we had a brilliant time. The hotel was close by to everything but also far enough away from the main strip that it wasn't too noisy at night etc. The rooms were very clean, pool was a decent size, everyone in hotel was great especially Laura our rep she was amazing and really helpful the other reps we met on trips were also great. Overall the only thing about this hotel which needs improving is the food, which was edible but nothing special and normally cold.
If i was to return to Sunny Beach which i hope to do in the future i would definetly return to this hotel as we had an amazing week.

Me and my fiance have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. It was brilliant. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the maids came in every morning with clean fresh towels.All the staff were very friendly and if we needed anything at all we got it.I would recommend this hotel as it is very close to all the shops,bars,restaurants and beach.I would go back to it in a flash.The pool was kept very clean and tidy.Our rep (laura dodds) was very helpful if we had a problem.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday at this hotel. Place exceeded our expectations. Rep (Laura Dodd) saw to everyones needs. Changed our room after first night due to excessive street noise (due to street work at 6am). Rooms kept spotless clean--towels changed daily-rooms serviced early every day. Food--basic but edible. From the buffet selection you could pick your favorites every day. Hotel is close to everything-prom, waterpark , shops etc. Pool well maintained-spotlessly clean. Could use a few more sunbeds as most beds taken by 9am. Poolbar very handy for drinks and snacks. Server there very friendly and obliging.
Hotel staff very nice. On departure day gave change facilities (incl shower) before departure. For a 3 star hotel we found Yavor to be clean, comfortable and will definitely be back.

hotel is excellent, for a couples or guys or girls holiday yavor is second to none!!! the staff including the rep (laura) are great and couldnt do enough to help and make it a fantastic holiday!! The cleanliness of the hotel is fantastic, was woke up every morning buy friendly smile with fresh towels, and i thought id pulled too hearing a girls voice!!
only thing that could be better are the evening meals

we have just returned today & want everyone going to yavor palace sunnybeach to know what a fantastic time we`ve had, we were b&b and it was very good, plenty of choice. the hotel was spotless, our room was cleaned every day the maids do work every hour god sends! We had a prebooked poolside room and really couldn`t find anything to complain about.It was very easy to use local transport, especially to Nessebar, we went twice because it was so lovely, 1lev each way!
Sunny beach has lots to offer, great white sand( cleaned every day) beach, some fab food especially
Sea Eyes on the front,try the Bulgarian ceramic meat dish & the lamb casserole type dish , both have glorious tender lamb to die for.
Ladies you will love the bargains in the shops, bags, jewellery & shoes galore!
I hope this will help some of you relax about the prospect of going to Bulgaria, I did not find anything to complain about & felt very safe, we did not hear 1 horror story of crime,theft, upset stomachs or anything else, but we truly had a wonderful time.
Sunny beach has lots to offer, great white sand( cleaned every day) beach, some fab food especially

Just back from the Yavor Palace, have to say i was impressed with the cleanliness of it considering its a 3*
After reading some comments regarding the hotel saying it was really dirty, i began dreading when the time came to go on holiday. They couldnt have been further from the truth, the hotel is absolutely spotless, maids go round everyday cleaning,constantly! clean towels everyday. Was extremely happy with the hotel hygiene! If i was to go bk to sunny beach i would def stay here again. Breakfast was good aswell, good selection, didnt hear good stories about evening meals though.
Sunny beach overall wasnt what i expected at all, thought it was a family resort, not at all, it is very much a young persons place to be to party, nothing to do for kids at all. Not much to do during the day, but the place comes alive at night, if you dont have kids then it would be great!
Wasnt too keen on the food in the resort, but i do recommend Fat Cats, the food was lovely there and they have HP brown sauce haha which was great!
Maybe leave it for a few years before going with kids as it is very much a up and coming resort.

I've got to say that this hotel was fantastic It was friendly, Clean, Excellent food good choice of everything especially salads which were fantastic! Great location no noise at all.We travelled as a family (2 adults 2 children) and all had a good time . Bulgarian people were so nice and friendly and welcoming.Would definetly go back. Fantastic holiday!

Just back from Yavor palace, had a brilliant time! food is shockingly bad in evenings, would describe as prison food, but other than that all good! Room imaculate, maids so friendly, all nicely decorated and bathroom brand new, in fact its the only hotel abroad i've stayed in where the water has stayed a constant temp in the shower.
If staying here deffinately upgrade to pool view, we didn't have one and our balcony faced a street and another hotel and we had beggars daily coming up to the balcony asking for money, food and clothes (same ppl time and time again), also could see into about 10 appartments.
rep was great, my son addored her and she even played with him on her night off in the hotel bar, Laura couldn't do enough to help.
The building site next door is now finished and the adjacent hotel has opened so it's no longer looking deralict.
Be careful if you venture out in the evening or on the bus, same as here there are loads of oportunists waiting for you to let your guard down and pick your pockets, we had no bother but heard some bad storys.
All in all it was a fab hol, perfect with a three year old, hot enough to tan but cool enough to keep the little one safe in the sun, ppl friendly and 5 mins from gorgeous beach (few fag ends in sand(ewww) but it's a country that everyone seems to smoke in so no surprise).
Just think Spain ten years ago and thats bulgaria now.
Would recomend but dont waste your money on half board, go b+b and eat decent food out as we resorted to of an evening.
Go there and enjoy before the prices go up!

Just returned from the Yavor Palace Hotel. Cannot fault the maid service, room cleaned immaculately. However food was always cold in the restaurant, eventually provided a microwave in order that we could heat the food up. On one day we ordered a cheeseburger at poolside and the burger was served raw. Rep was very helpful if you purchased a trip from First Choice, otherwise didn't seem interested in guests. Building work all week next to the poolside of the hotel with the workers staring at the young female guests (one had a pair of binoclars). Had a back room with balcony and we had a lovely view all week of a rubbish tip from the builders, which was visited regularly by the local gypsies and stray cats. The road outside the Hotel was badly lit on a night, and could not walk on footpaths because of all the building rubble and dirt. The local people are friendly, but be careful of your belongings, there are regular thefts in the resort. There was no entertainment laid on in the hotel, even though we were told there would be on booking. Little entertainment in the resort unless you like watching sky football. Had booked the room on the final day until 6pm and when the final day arrived we were told we didn't have a room and so we waisted 1.5hours on our final morning along with another couple waiting to have the room extension confirmed. The Hotel is classed as 3 star by First Choice, I would certainly rate it at no more than a 2 star. Must say I am glad we only went for a week because I would not know what to do on the second week, though entertainment was slowly being put on in local bars on the last evening. Would like to re-visit again in a few years when all the building work is finished in the resort but certainly in no hurry to return.

I read all these comments with disbeleif after i booked this holiday . one comment suggested i contact my travel agent and book into a different hotel
the reps were useless , the cleaners were rude , the pool was dirty , the food was inedible . the trips were a rip off
if you have already booked reconsider your booking even if it costs you more money it would be worth it
i was glad to get out of bulgaria
i had a pedicure and manicure which was really good and cheap , there also some good fake desighner clothes and lovley paintings on the markets. sunny beach is a good place to shop

my partner i and my two children spent two weeks at the yavor palace and we had a fantastic time.the food is basic but ok.the hotel is situated in a great spot close to the beach and bars.a trip to nessebar is a must it is a beautiful place.we found the staff friendly and very helpful.there is a lot of really good restaurants if you want to eat out.only bad comment i have to make is there is a lot of prostitutes about the streets at night who try to home in on men to steal mobiles from their pockets.it is cheaper than most other holiday resorts but the prices are rising.we have booked another two weeks for august 08.

The pool area very clean, as is the bar areas.
Eating out gives a very wide scope as there are lots, and lots of places to eat. We found Billy's Bistro, about 2 minute walk from the hotel, which has a menu which caters for all tastes, try the steak, its great.
All in all, we found sunny beach to be a very liverly resort, and even though we are both in our early 70's, we enjoyed our stay, and would definately go back to this hotel
