" Stayed with family 4 Adults and 2... "
Submitted By: Mr D Heap
Stayed with family 4 Adults and 2 kids (10+11) for 2 weeks half board.
Hotel was great Id say 3 star rather than 4, rooms clean and daily maid service kept them that way. Pool smaller than we normally expect but no problems getting space around the pool and never over crowded. Other residents mostly French, German. Was haing problems with the lift during our stay.
Breakfasts great, cant fault at all, even the coffee was strong.Evening meals, a lot of fish, pork and veal which was great for adults. Kids sometimes struggled to find something they would choose. Although they did enjoy what was choosen for them, or when they plucked up teh corage to get something fresh from the grill.
Short stroll to nearest beach/coves, excellent sand and shallow slopping so no problems here.
Recommend PortAventura, try friday/saturdays much less packed then the tuesday we also went. Take the chance to see some of the shows as well actually very good, especially if some of your party are not into large thrill rides. Queue time for FuriousBaco 30mins on friday, 90mins on the tuesday.
Using the busses to get around was easy and cheap with Salou and LaPinada 5/10 mins away. On return just ask for ticket to Hotel Negressco, saves paying the extra for the centre of cap salou. In Salou the water maze is great for kids, also check out the lights and laser fountain show friday, saturday and sundays.

" My boyfriend and I travelled to Salou... "

My boyfriend and I travelled to Salou in July of this year, we had a brilliant time. I was in Salou before but it was my boyfriend's first time and he wants to go back. The hotel was absolutely brilliant, definitely lived up to its 4 stars! We are only in our 20's but we didn't want anything to mad, as you will find in the centre of Salou. The hotel is very quiet, the pool is kept spotless as are the rooms. The maids come everyday and make the beds, change towels and replenish toilet rolls etc!
If you are going to Salou do not leave without going to Port Aventura, a must see! The hotel is in Cap Salou about a 3 minute drive on the bus into the centre, you can walk in as we did some nights, and you can taxi or bus it home. Buses come around every 20 mins and more in the busy season. The beach is a short walk from the Punta Dorada and is surrounded by little coves, very nice but a bit hard to find sunbeds, but there are a few beaches beside this hotel.
The only thing I can complain about is that we booked a year in advance and we asked for mid floor pool view, we got top floor with a view of the back yard, but I guess that was my fault for not complaining when we arrived! We were half board, the breakfasts were good, (boiled eggs, breads, sausages) and the dinners were mainly fish (hake, sole) but there was a very good choice of fruits and breads!
The hotel had a very big German and French population in our first week and some English people arrived in our second week.
I definitely give this hotel the thumbs up!
