Real Palacio Hotel

The hotel is rated 5 stars and it didn’t disappoint. We got a superb deal through Expedia and stayed there for a week in July 2006. It’s located in a quiet area, maybe 2-3 miles north of the Baixa – the heart of the action. But this isn’t a problem, as it’s less than 10 mins on the (very cheap, clean and efficient) metro. This was our first time in Lisbon. We chose this hotel based on the great reviews, and we were certainly not disappointed! Location is very good. It's close to the metro, some good cafés, El Corte Ingles and a really nice park. Our room was very good, spacious and comfortable. It contained a minibar (expensive drinks and snacks as always), bathrobes, fresh flowers every day, chocolates every evening, a large safe (absolutely free to use) and a good selection of toiletries. I have just returned from a full weeks stay at this hotel. It was my first trip to Lisbon and the hotel was perfect. I was there for a work conference and I found the staff fantastic and helpful when it came to booking restaurants etc. There is a certain ambience about this hotel and my favorite part was the atrium in the middle of the ground floor.The rooms were very tidy and the mini bar nicely stocked. just got back from a 4 day break in Lisbon and stopped at the real palacio. I agree with everyone and say a great hotel to stop at. It was very plush and absolutely spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was no problem, the metro just around the corner. One night we had a taxi to the docks area which was the other side of the city and it only came to 5 euro.

Like all the other reviews we can only agree the hotel was excellent, I especially enjoyed the chocolates on your pillow each evening. The staff were all very attentive in particular bar staff who ensured my husband had a centre seat in the bar to watch the Champions League game between Arsenal and Villa Read. The restuarant on the top floor of El Cortes Ingles is brilliant and whatever you do don't miss the Gulbenkiam Museum a short walk from the hotel a fantastic collection. We stayed in this hotel over Easter 2006. We had a great time. The hotel is out of the centre of Lisbon, but is only a short ride on the Metro. Public transport is brilliant. There are good nearby restaurants if you do not want to travel into the centre in the evening. Eating out in Lisbon is excellent, especially fish. There is a good nearby department store - El Corte Ingles (similar to John Lewis). Stayed from Monday to Friday in late March 2006. Hotel was everything we were led to believe from the Tripadvisor reviews. I had asked for a quiet room, and we were allocated one at the rear in the new section. I would agree with a previous posting that the soundproofing between rooms is superb. We never heard our neighbours despite the adjacent rooms being occupied. Breakfast was included with our Expedia deal and was fine. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Considering many hotel rooms in Europe are rather small, my room at the Hotel Palacio was quite spacious and very comfortable. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I only ate dinner once at the hotel but the food was delicious and the dining experience top notch! The hotel is located within a few blocks of shopping and the subway which was very convenient for getting around. Highly recommend staying there.

The hotel is almost new. The staff at the reception is polite with very good english. The rooms are clean and very cosy. They have turndown service with chocolates, nice touch, Breakfast is well presented with good choice, Just 5 min walk from the tube station and close the shopping complex. The price was amazing. I paid 65 euros a night with breakfast.

This is a gem of a hotel, located in a quiet area outside of the busiest neighborhoods. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and service is good. The front desk staff is helpful and speak excellent English. We booked through Expedia for an amazing price of $107 per night (off-season) and would have paid 2-3 times that for the same quality in any American city.
