" Good but could do better "

We stayed for a week B&B, had a great time. Views were superb. Hotel very clean.
Just a few niggles - reception staff not overly welcoming. The pool was heated for the 1st half of the week but not the second.
We only ate in the hotel once as the only restaurant open was the show restaurant. Have to say the show was fab but didn't want to watch it every night. Plenty of good eating elsewhere though.
No ironing facilities except through housekeeping - did not ask what the charges would be for this.
Overall I would say a 4 star not a 5

Well what a fab hotel!!!! LOVED IT! every single second of it!
From the beg: Smooth arrival - although we were promised by Jetline travel we would have a seaview, this wasnt the case when we checked in - we wernt the only ones, TBH i think this is of fault of the holiday company if you would like a seaview room then it is 25euros extra a day .. i have to say at first i was really upset, but the rooms were lovely - big spacious, fantastic air con so gets really cold out there when its blistering outside - loved the toiletries, maid service very good - very quiet cant really complain about anything - and tbh you dont really want to be spending much time in the room, and the sea views poolside more than make up for it.
Pool area - excellent, great big cold sal****er pool, beautiful - gorgeous views over the beach and sea - really nice bar and waiter service to your sunlounger. really nice food - try the club sandwich its lush! - there were always sunloungers and space available no matter what time you go down to the pool.
Staff: really friendly, and over helpful - absolutely fantastic.

Breakfast: We stayed bed and breakfast - there are lots on offer, from omelettes made for you - full english, champayne and of course everything else you expect from a continental.
Prai de rocha: one word. BEAUTIFUL such a lovely place, very clean - so much to do from shows, to bars, sooo many restuarants to choose from - street entertainment. so much fun!
The beach: was just gorgeous - almost white sand, the atlantic was very cold - but gorgeous green, and stretched for miles. and quite empty which im guessing is bcus of the size of it - which was nice.
THe hotel Casino: we went one night, for a walk around mainly was alot of fun, we also went to see a show and have a 5 course dinner in the showroom, which was really nice we had a "Happy dinner" which sounded naff but was very nice and well worth 27euros.
Overall a great hotel - the reviews that complain i just dont understand - esp as we paid £400 was a bargain.
One thing is take plenty of money the resort is fairly expensive.
Cant wait to go back - was so upset to leave! Go on book it..honestly youl have the best time!!

Best holiday i have ever been on..hotel was amazing, anything you would ever want from a 5* and more, my nan fell ill on holiday and the staff could not have been more helpful, calling doctors, translating and bringing baskets of fruit up to the room!
Very Clean and spacious, as i said before staff were AMAZING! Didnt go to the casino as im not a gambeller but i did look in and it was full of very good looking wealthy men! =)
The hotel is situated riight on the beach, although the time we did go down it was very windy and cold, so we stayed by the pool!
Pool was cold, food great, bar staff great, (bar was beside the pool) you ordered the drinks at the bar and the waitors came over to you on your sun lounger! GREAT!
Lots of shops and bars/restruarnts close by!

I was with my boyfriend in this hotel, and we’ve loved it. With an excellent location, is an authentic paradise.
This was the most relaxing vacation we were ever on. The service, cleanliness and hotel experience is amazing.
The bar and the restaurants were very good, all of which provided excellent food and drinks at reasonable prices.
Overall i would highly recommend this hotel! I am already planning my next trip to Praia da Rocha and will definitely be staying there!

I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Algarve Casino Hotel.
A few reviews have mentioned the grumpy reception staff. I didn't find this to be the case and they were always very happy and willing to help. All of the staff was great!
Everyone always stopped to say “Ola” and I found it lovely.
The food was very good and the fact that there were 3 restaurants added a little variety.
The drinks at the bar were great, they have some marvellous cocktails. The house wine was also very good.
Beach was amazing. The colour of the sea was just wonderful and so was the temperature. Weather was fantastic, so make sure you take plenty of sunscreen. If you don’t, you can buy it in the hotel.
In the evening, we went to see the shows at the casino, which were great. But real good is the night life, 2 seconds away from the hotel.
Bedroom was nice and comfortable. The cleaning is excellent. Ask for a sea view room, because the sight is marvellous!
We had a fantastic time and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to others or staying there again. Had a great time, met some fantastic people from around the globe.

Lovely hotel .Realy lovely room despite feeling a little worried after reading reviews.Very clean the maids were in everyday replaceing towls ,shampoo etc. Loads of space to put things away in and fab terrace.Couldnt of been happier !! The weather was amazing too around 24 degrees every day.The pool was clean a little chilly when you first got in and very deep but massive !!! The food in hotel was good well breakfat was did have pasta one day which wasnt nice but all in all very good . Snacks and drinks very 5 star price alot cheaper outside the hotel . There is a very friendly parrott at the pool side shouts 'ola' alot lol . We also had rabbits in reception due to easter very sweet .The resort its self wasnt that busy but due to time of year .Not meny shops the usual holiday type ones . Ate in chinese 2 nights across form the hotel it was lovely and very cheap 15 euro for two main meals and drinks .The sitting bull also good figitas at 8 euro could feed the whole of the uk !! very good . The hotle staff were lovely and very helpful all apart from one she knows who she is !!! Lol .All in all a great place to stay i would say apart from breakfast id eat outside the hotel though (chepaer) . They also provide beach towls which is great leaving more space for duty free !!! The intrenet is 2 euro for 15 miins but is free if you have own lap top . Think that covers the basics . I decided to write this as I read a few reviews that had put me off and then i relised who ever writes a holiday repot on a holiday they have enjoyed.So i did and here is my holiday report. I hope it helps and you have i lovely time it is well worth a vist .(wait till you see the beach and the veiws heven )!

Wow! what an amazing place! i went over to portugal with my best friend and her parents although we didn't see her parents until we met for the airport and occassionaly lunches and sunbathing sessions! I have to say that it was one of the best holidays that i have ever been on and given the chance i would go there again and again. Nightlife was great and so was the sun! the hotel was absolutly fantasice and the staff were friendly ! id reccommend to anyone!

First time booking with Travel Republic - excellent. Everything went according to plan. Only downside was didn't book a room with a sea view so no sea view = no balcony.
Room was on road side of hotel and a bit dark and dingy, didn't want to spend much time in it, the furnishings could do with updating.
Breakfasts were okay (had better in 4 star hotels). Most of the staff we had any dealings with were very helpful.
Restaurants on the boardwalk suited all tastes. Our favourite was Senhora da Rocha, staff and food excellent. Also excellent cake shop opposite hotel with great coffee.

Very nice food A+, we go B&B.
The walk ways on the beach are now all done and makes a very nice walk.
They had the roads up on the main street up to the Jupiter, not good, and say it will go on again next year.
Lots of very nice places to eat, if you want a place to eat low price try Cafe Parmer just up from the Casino Hotel towards the fort.
Must have the best beach in Portugal.

This is a fantastic hotel the rooms are big and very clean, the buffet breakfast has plenty of choice everything you could want, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
There are two pools with sun loungers and a bar you can even have a massage and there are steps leading down to the beach.
The location of this hotel is great, almost on the beach would recommend to anyone.

Wow! The hotel was fantastic! There was so much for everyone to do with the pool and the baby pool, the casino, the small library, the cyber point, the lounge and the beach right beside the hotel.
I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, the breakfast was amazing because there was a huge choice. I would definitely go back.

Just come back from this hotel must say one of the best I have been to 5 star .
Booked it with Med Hotels very good price, got my own flight £220.00 with first choice ,transfer with transol all went to plan.
