Grosvenor Hotel

Arrived here on a last minute road trip. It was listed in a book belonging to a friend. Cost was quite OK considering we just arrived at the counter on the night. They did try to offer an upgrade package that included a larger room, a bath, internet, bottled water, a banana and something else small. For the price variance we were going to take it as we want internet access for our business. Stayed here for one night when visiting Stratford to see the RSC. Hotel was quite a bit cheaper than all the other ones in the area - we paid £65 wheras other places were at least £80+ Location: It's about a 20 minute walk from the station through the centre of town. This is fair enough but if you had a lot of luggage a taxi may be a better option. Be warned though, taxi's at the station are quite few and far between! Stayed here for 1 night and had a very pleasant time. Ample free parking, nicely decorated public areas with comfy chairs, attentive staff. Some of the corridors need redecorating, but overall it was fine. The room was smallish but clean and well furnished - nice soft bed. The bathroom was spotless. Location is very central, but you need to cross main roads to get anywhere. Breakfast was very good - well stocked buffet and excellent cooked breakfast. Overall very pleasant, would stay here again.

Located about 10 minute walk to the theatre, park and town centre. The hotel is quite dated could do with a make over. Our room was in the new annex, you needed a map to get there, there are no lifts, it literally was up one set of stairs, along a number of corridors and then back down another set of stairs. Having stayed at Best Westerns across the UK and abroad we thought we would book for a 1 night stay in Stratford Upon Avon and visit the theatre. We booked an executive double room and on entering we noticed there were food crumbs over the beds, phone books and hotel information thrown, bins not emptied. Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel and attended the murder mystery event taking place there which was run within but independently of the hotel by a company called Skulduggery. The hotel is in a great location for touring Stratford - within easy walking distance of the town centre attractions and the RSC. Breakfast was excellent, a real treat and the evening meal (which was included within the murder mystery package) was fantastic. Stayed here for 2 nights in mid-April. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The hotel is within 5 minues of the town centre. All the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast was good. If your looking for a good quality hotel near the town centre then look no further. I would definately stay here again.

We stayed in Sept 07 in a double room. You really can't beat the location of this hotel, right in the middle of town but on a side road, so far enough out of the way! Perfect walking distance to shops, attraction, restaurants, etc. Good parking, we never had a problem getting apark and the front desk service was great. Didn't eat at the restaurant, seemed a bit pricey. We stayed at this hotel over the busy Easter bank holiday weekend. We chose the hotel as it was close to the town centre and because it was reasonably priced. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted promptly and although there was a problem with them not having our booking this was dealt with swiftly and professionally and we even received a free room upgrade. My Husband and I stayed at the Grosvenor from 25th - 27 January 2008. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the Restaurant had only re-opened the day we arrived, The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our room was a little small but was comfortable and very clean The shower was great. The hotel is close to the attractions and we had a great weekend, We will definitely go again
