Excellent Location, and lovely hotel
from SarahHertfordshire
Stayed in the Legacy Flacon between the 16th to 18th of Dec. Upon reading reviews of the hotel I rang prior to our arrival and asked for a quiet room in the new part of the hotel. New part of hotel was superb, our room was modern and looked newly refurbished. Lovely bathroom, huge bed, and a flat screen TV. Cannot fault the rooms. Breakfast was quite good, you can either have a traditional breakfast or buffet style. Hotel had a lovely log fire on all day (very christmassy). The location was superb, in the centre of town. The hotel also has...

Not a happy experience
from Shakespearestudent
Hotel rooms in the old part of the hotel do not have showers and all the fittings are very tired and in need of upgrading. Stayed a Saturday night in room 305 which was above a disco (a function that night)so loud the floor shook! Duty manager moved us to a room that was quiet but not a room that could have been let regularly to the public as it was in dire need of refurbishment. The public parts of the hotel are full of character but the room we stayed in was vastly overpriced for its quality. This is not value for money.
Lovely historical location
from Flossloss
We spent one night in this hotel, using it as a base to explore Stratford. The location was excellent and we were given a room in the old part of the building, which, although small, was charming. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have tea and coffee making facilities. The shower pressure was fine and they included extra pillows in the wardrobe. As it was old, there were beams in the ceiling - be careful if you're tall! Both the room and the bathroom were clean. The breakfast was really good - buffet with cereal,...

Generally OK - great location
from MrsP
We stayed at the Legacy Falcon with friends on 15th September. We had rooms 454 and 458. On the whole this is a nice hotel in a perfect location. Young lady on check-in was polite and helpful. The breakfast was buffet style for the cereals and continental stuff, plus the waiter comes to take your order for a cooked breakfast. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very efficient, friendly and attentive. There is a nice well kept garden. Bed was exceptionally comfortable, and although our room overlooked the street it wasn't too noisy...

A Weekend away Disaster
from collinsbernard
Arrived Thursday Night. Hotel undergoing refurbishment, workmen start at 7:00 am friday. Room serviced but carpet not cleaned, rubbish not cleared and bed only partly made. Complained. Saturday, men at work, later start today. Food variety greatly reduced but prices incresased. An increase in prices in the bar and Food has not been combined with an increase in value for money. Staff, Northern Europeans friendly, efficient but lack language skills. UK staff surly and indefferent. Bar manager did not ask what you...

Good value but in dire need of refurbishment
from steviec1211
Just come back from a two day stay at the Falcon. Overall this hotel offers good value for money but there are some downsides. Firstly this place is long overdue a complete refurbishment. We stayed in the "new" part which looks as if it was added on sometime in the sixties. I don't think the rooms have been decorated since as ours was quite shabby although reasonably clean. The bathroom was tiny with wallpaper peeling from the walls. It was also very noisy since the room (205) seemed to be next to some sort of ventilator fan which ran all...

Strange sort of service
from Eberhardt
Unlike other correspondents I was impressed with my room, a large twin with a couch and table and cheerful red furnishings - it was also quiet, being in the newer part of the hotel far from the creaking floors, dripping taps and live bands that have worried other guests. The location was perfect. What was astonishing - and a really bad example of old-style British service - was that when I arrived at 11.30am, ready to go to the 1pm play at the RSC, I was told I couldn't leave my luggage there. The room wasn't ready - well, fair enough - but...

Loved The Falcon
from aaraney
The Falcon Hotel (or Legacy Falcon) was wonderful. Such a great location, and great value for money. The hotel has two sections, one from 400 years ago, one from this century. We opted for the older one and were not disappointed. It was very Tudor-like, as it has been preserved well. The room was small, but they were small back then. We had a private bathroom with shower (though some are bath only). Breakfast wasn't too bad, both a cold and hot portion are provided, but it was buffet instead of cooked to order. Still fine to get you...

Brilliant
from KatyP
We were in Stratford upon Avon to watch King Lear. The location of the hotel was perfect for this and for exploring the town. With the added bonus of having its own carpark. The room we were allocated was lovely and spacious and had been recently refurbished to a high standard. We would definitely stay here again
Pros and cons - a mixed bag.
from welkom_southafrica
This hotel isn't awful, but certainly isn't the quaint sort of accomodation the photographs promise. On the plus side, the location is fantastic, as it is quite literally in the city centre and all the major sites are easily accessible. Breakfasts are good, staff generally efficient, parking ample and the price reasonable. On the downside, our room (303) - initially very pretty in terms of period decor - was located right next to the ventilation unit/extractor fan, which provided a literally continual electronic drone for the 3 days of our...
