When i saw a photo of a room i said not bad but when you actually go inside the room it is small, old, poor. We change four rooms, that was terrible. The bathroom was really dirty especially the bath. Unfortunately, for a 3-star hotel we thought it would be better..it looks much more like a 2-star hotel.

Our first impressions of the Juniper hotel was not what i call a great one, after arriving at nearly 8am on the 24th july when we were meant to be at the hotel at 5am we found the reception area dirty, not a good start! after checking in and given a broken key we headed for our room . After the most scarey lift ride in the world we got off and went to what we thought was our room, however, after opening the door we relised there 2 people asleep in bed! We relised we had made a mistake by going to room 201 but didnt expect our key to open someone elses door! Once into our own room both our hearts sank as we now knew what our room was like for the next week. No double beds, a balcony door which was broken and didnt shut properly, a mini bar which is a empty fridge which you also have to buy the power lead from reception at 3 lira a day!! then there is the shower room, well what a let down, shower area was so dirty it made me feel sick and the toilet seat was broken and also wouldnt flush properly. When taking showers the water would go from hot to cold then to no water at all!! not good when you have shower gel all over you and no way to wash it off!! the water did come back on after a short period. I did go th reception to complain but to be told "thats the way it is here sorry" on the plus side the air con did work well and didnt leak like some of the other guests did. I found the staff in the resturant to be the most helpfull and the funnist to be around but the food let the hotel down big time! i think ive seen every variation of chicken and pork (well thats what i think it was) nice salads tho! seeing the same foods out every day and night took its toll and we found that eating out was the way forward so wouldnt recomend All inclusive to anyone staying at juniper or the sister hotel siesta. Drinks were fruit juice, vodka, coke, lemonade, local beer and wine, eveything else was extra to our suprise! The pool area was mostly clean and tidy but stepped on broken glass around the pool even tho there is a sign that says no glass around the pool. the staff didnt seem bothered at all. All in all tho despite the hotel and its faults the location is very good as there is everthing around you bars, clubs, resturants, activities etc etc. The hotel says its a 3* hotel but in my opinion its more of a 1* so if you can find somewhere else to stay i would recomend doing that!! Avoid the biggest water park in Icmeler its not big at all and not worth the lira getting in!! food is horrible there but dont try to take any of your own food and drink as you get searched on your way in and any food and drink gets taken away! and you dont get it back!! Mud bath is always a winner so check it out if you get time!! loved turkey but not the hotel and will most definatly never go back there!! cheap and cheerfull is not always the best this hotel proves that.

Dear Readers,
I would like to clarify my feelings about the Juniper Hotel in Icmeler. Despite the hotel having many faults, we had a whale of a time!
Upon arrival, there was a man in a small box which was known as 'reception'. There was a small TV in the corner with a few books by it- and my heart sank when i saw this.
We were shown to our rooms after a rather scary experience in the lift. You couldn't swing a mouse in the rooms never mind a cat. Also the key broke in the door to which the receptionist annnouced 'it's broke'. My friends were left all night in an unlocked room. We had to put our pillows at the other end of the bed as the air con dripped on our heads. However, this was included in the price- bargain! It was like a swimming pool by the last day! Also we pulled the draw out from under the dressing table which then collapsed onto my friends knee! We believe that our friends in another room had a 'deluxe' room as there was a picture of some hound dogs on the wall. One night during a shower, the water just stopped. We tried to turn it back on but the tap came off in my hand! THe toilets were a let down- when having a number 2 you had to wait until the next day before it would flush, so there would be poo festering around for a day! The food mainly consisted of kofte- which came in the form of a skewer, ball, burger or a new addition; a battered burger! It was very basic, but what there was was fine, the salads were very fresh and tasty. The pool was a good size, the bar was ok, apart from the very small 'beakers' we were given and the fact that you couldnt get your friends a drink at the same time as your own without the bar staff moaning at the other hotel. There was no entertainment at all, which was quite disappointing apart from a turkish night every saturday. The street dancers who perform in the turkish night were very good, despite the 'shed' that they drive around in!
The staff were friendly, especially 'the legend' and 'noel' who worked behind the bar. The only problem was that at meal times, they waited on certain tables but not all tables, so they need to decide if it is waiter service or not.
Basically, if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful holiday, like us, then its fine! The rooms are very basic but they are clean and the bed linen and towels were changed daily. The food is basic but its nice, and there are plenty of places aroud Icmeler that you can go to eat if you feel that this is necessary. I wouldn't recommend going all inclusive. We kept our valuables in the safe, which was fine, i was shocked to read that some people had their money stolen. If you want a cheap place to get your head down after a bit of partying in 'Eastenders aka Phil Mitchell's club' then Juniper is the place for you!
All the best,
Alex

Awfull!! We have been to Turkey many times, Icmeller 4 times. WE have NEVER had such a bad experience!
Not only was our money stolen from what is supposed to be the safest place to put it, but we were not belived and seen as just a pair that were trying to pull one over on the hotel. (we then found out that it had happened to 3 other people that same week and 2 people the week before!)
1.The A/C dripped all over the table in between the beds,(it had to be mended twice)
2.Our key wouldnt open our door properley and I had to keep getting the staff to use their spare to open it.
3.There was no water at all on our 2nd morning, so we couldnt even flush the toilet.
4.The handle came off the door to the balcony
5. If you were not across at the sister hotel where the meals were served at the dot of 7.30 for the evening meal, then there was not only nowhere to sit but no food either, cos when each food container was empty no more was put out.....I can still go on!!!!

Having read a number of poor reviews of this hotel we were somewhat apprehensive before we arrived.
We are 3 single women in their 50's and booked separately so that we would get a twin room each. A lot of people have criticised the attic rooms but as we didn’t see them I couldn’t comment. We had rooms on the 1st floor with a balcony either overlooking the pool or the street at the back.
The rooms were perfectly adequate for our needs and cleaned every day. There were extra charges even though we were All Inclusive for the fridge and the air conditioning – we didn’t need either so can’t comment.
The rooms and bathroom are quite old and very basic – the shower had plenty of really hot water in the evenings and in fact the pressure was so high in my room it was like a power shower!
There weren’t many people staying there when we were there so it was pretty quiet around the pool except when we were there having fun with the staff that is!!
The staff were fantastic and treated us really well, Erkan the barman couldn’t do enough for us and made the holiday lots of fun – he wouldn’t even accept a tip at the end and insisted we gave it to Ramazan whom he was training.
The food – breakfast – usual Turkish cheese, cold meats, eggs, tomatoes etc. Although you could request omelette or fried eggs if you wished.
Lunch and Dinner – always rice, chips, sometimes cous cous, with some vegetables (sometimes edible and sometimes not!) with a choice of 2 Turkish casseroles or pieces of chicken. There was always a soup too and a whole range of meze salads. Bowls of fruit (though sometimes a bit battered) and desserts were available but weren’t great either.
Snacks were limited to one hour at 3pm and you could have cheeseburger or cheeseburger – also not great. We found we had plenty at breakfast and lunch to not want snacks anyway.
We were a little surprised to find that you had to pay for the bottles of water – you could have a glass of water on the AI but the 1.5 ltr bottles cost 2TL – they decanted from the really big containers for the AI water.
We paid £210 for 10 days at the hotel and to be honest it was a whole lot better than expected! We knew we would eat out too and ate out 4/5 times whilst we were there – we would have done this if we had been in 5* though because we like to get out and about and have some fun!
The restaurant staff – Taner and the manager again couldn’t do enough for us – if you want a cheap AI and don’t expect 4* or 5* food and service I would recommend this hotel I will post some pictures in the next few days.
Feel free to contact me if you want more details.

it is the first time i been to turkey and possibly my last after the experience of the juniper hotel the hotel is a absolute disgrace and should not be in any travel agents book the rooms are dirty the showers full of grime there are no resterauts only 1 bar it is nothing like it states in book the mini bar is an empty frigde that you have to pay £3 daily for you have to go to the seista hotel across the the road for your meals and the staff are very rude and disinterested in any thing you have to say and as for the thomas cook rep what a complete waste of space in my opinion the hotel is not fit for animals to stay in.. sorry but that my opinion. oh and i have photos also

Now if your going on holiday for a room with space and a view then you just might be let down. I have read other reviews of this hotel that were non to flattering. Let me remind you that your in a location thats very accesible to transport links to other nearby resorts. there is an excellent wekly market selling everything; its up to you to barter. The nearby cafe restraunts and entertainment are so affordable and there staff are all effortlessly friendly. This small seaside resort of icmeler has taken years to develop and countless millions of pounds to bring it to todays impressive holiday destination. Its both quiet and boisterous. There are noisy musical all happening places if you want them but they are nearer the beach. The further from the beach seems to go silent at midnight; good for the hotel guests who may want to sleep. So if you do go icmeler and stay at the Juniper, then treat it like a happy tourist and not a hotel inspector. You'll come back home with a great tan and rave reviews yourself.
Have a great time

Just arrived back from a week at the Juniper. I read the reviews after booking and was really worried what we were going to. I would just like to reassure that in my opinion the hotel was fine. Yes the rooms were small, but bedding was clean and there was free air con which was a god send and you don't spend that amount of time in it. Small charge for the fridge, but this did go off when the key was removed on exiting the room but kept water cool overnight.. Bathroom was clean and shower worked fine. Breakfast was in the oposite hotel, typical turkish not a lot of choice but as long as your happy with scrambled eggs, bread, cheese and jam your fine (wouldn't advise all inclusive). The pool was really good as never packed and a good size. If you stay here you must visit the Magic Garden (small taverna left outside the hotel reception and just straight down on the corner) this was the nicest little place I visited all holiday, but never found it until the second last day. On the whole a very good holiday.

Don't actually know what the hotel was like as we were put into the sister hotel (Siesta)across the road due to double bookings . We were told that we would be moved in 2 days which didn't happen. Manager was apologetic at first but then we never saw him again. Gave it an 8 rating because the sister hotel was nice enough, food and drink was ok and the room was pleasant enough (after we worked out how to stop the AC from leaking). Staff were all friendly enough apart from the grumpy old guy who complained because I bought someone else a beer.

just returned today. after reading comments i was worried but hotel is ok it does need a revamp and rooms are small but very clean and bed change every other day , food over road to siesta hotel is ok you do have very good days and ok days with food but there is a good variety of salads, the staff from maids, barstaff to waiters and the manager are very freindly and cannot do enough for you. if you are going inclusive have a couple meals out the restaraunts nearby are good prices. and will take english money, but its worth going fully inclusive for drinks even just coffee and coke during the day, if you drink barcardi you pay 8 lira as they dont do a cheaper version but they do with vodka gin rakki brandy, so if thats your favourite tiple you will be ok.loungers by pool are hard to get but the beah isnt far and we found it was the british who put towels on beds at 5oclock in the morning just really have fun its your holiday unpack and relax. you get what you pay for
