My wife and I went to the Juniper...
1 / 10
Nov 2007, Mr F BATSON

My wife and I went to the Juniper Hotel for the first and last time, we arrived and were put in a room where there was not enough room to swing a cat. I called reception and asked for manager to come up and see us, he arrived and explained this was the only room available, I told him I paid extra for a room overlooking the pool, also paid for double bed which this room had neither. We had to tell if he did not sort another room out, I would be contacting the rep, wonders never cease we were giving another room at 1500hrs the same day.
We paid for air con, mini-fridge which was empty which also went off when you took your key out, I also had to pay for a plug to operate fridge, meals were prepared outside, orange juice was made was powder, bed linen and towels were changed no more than twice within our stay, wardrobe was kept level by a rusty nail, pool was ok, tables around pool had jagged glass edges, informed staff of these problems, nothing done about them.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy, I have since complained to holiday company twice they do not want to know. Mr.F.Batson

If you are looking for a reasonably...

Oct 2007, Ms M Winney

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, central hotel this one will do for you. It is simply furnished and the rooms are a little small but the location and helpful friendly staff more than made up for this.
Breakfast is as you would expect simple continental style with bread, cheese, olives etc but if you fancy a British breakfast there are many restaurants serving this. Icmeler was a little pricier than we thought but it didn't matter as it was such a lovely place and we had the most fantastic time.
Icmeler is quieter than neighbouring Marmaris but it's a delightful place and I would recommend it to anyone. We have booked again for next summer but a little earlier as it was very hot. Try the water-taxi to Marmaris, it's only about 35 minutes, and it's a wonderful ride.
There are many excursions to choose from, jeep safari, and Talk of the Town being our favourites.

We booked to go to the Juniper hotel...
3 / 10
Oct 2007, Miss E.L Hartley

We booked to go to the Juniper hotel on a last minute deal after going to Icmeler in May and loving it. We looked on the website for the Juniper hotel, and also on holiday watchdog.
The pictures on the website were lovely and the hotel sounded beautiful. The reports on holiday watchdog were all from last year when we looked, but they all said how lovely the hotel was.
When we arrived at the hotel, (after being asked where it was by the tour operators!) it was like we had stepped back in time! The hotel looked nothing like the pictures at all! The staff took our names, told us the room number, and handed us a key. She asked for our passports (no explanation as to why!) and that was the welcome done with!
We were told to leave our cases, although my partner said we could manage them. We went upto our room, and we were shocked to say the least. I was expecting the room to be small as mentioned in some of the reviews, but not that small! It was very dated and not very nice.
The headboard was very dirty, marks all over the walls; bathroom was a state, holes in the curtains, walls, ceilings! We had a little talk & decided that as it was only a week long, we would grin and bear it. We pushed our beds together so we could actually move in the room, and were disgusted by the filth under the bed. We noticed the wardrobe was being propped up with a rusty old nail, which was sticking out under the dressing table. The draw in the dresser was falling apart.
The bathroom was filthy, orange 'stuff'! all over ceiling and shower floor. The water in our toilet was continuously running one day, and when we turned the tap on to wash our hands - the water ran yellow.
A call to reception quickly sorted the problems, but it’s not what you expect to return back to after a day out!
Breakfast was a huge no no. We ate out every morning, as from our balcony we could see the eggs and other items from breakfast on a table waiting to be brought in - but sat out there uncovered for a few hours every morning.
Also whilst waiting for our transfer, we noticed the breakfast was actually being laid out on the tables... at midnight.
There were holes in the wall throughout the hotel, the plastic grating around the pool was up and laying all over the place and there were 2 lion water features, which were propped up by 3 pieces of wood each.
As B&B board, we were only allowed to use one bar (with very limited items), as the other was for All inclusive passengers. Our 'minibar' consisted of an empty fridge which was switched off!
Our towels and bedding were not once changed during our stay. Another couple who were staying in the hotel tried their key in our door, on a completely different floor, and surprise surprise it opened. Our key also opened there door. Not very safe.
So all in all, Do not stay here! Very unfriendly staff, dirty, shoddy, and just generally not worth the money at all. I will definitely being going back to Icmeler as it is a lovely place, but never again will I be staying at this hotel.

Noticed this hotel rating has gone...
6 / 10
Oct 2007, Mrs F Wardrop

Noticed this hotel rating has gone downhill, perhaps since they went all-inclusive. The rooms aren’t any thing like the brochure. My room was a tiny attic, very drab, and not really clean. Not dirty just dusty, cleaners just do the basics; change towels and empty bins.
I did get hot water at night after a 15 min wait but it was sometimes brown and by midnight the toilet wouldn’t flush and the loo and the room smells like drains.
I was B&B and have no complaints about breakfast: bread, cheese, meat, cornflakes, coco pops, eggs, beans, yogurt, raisins and jam and a toaster. I know many hotels in Turkey don’t hit the mark there and there’s too many nice places to eat so there was alot of upset all-inclusive guests.
On the plus side the staff are really nice and the pool is good quite big and deep plus sunshine 9am till 6pm also it’s on a quiet side street.
I would go back if I got it cheap enough but I’d try for a better room. Bring a plug in and a cloth for cleaning.

Don't go there! This hotel claims to...

Oct 2007, Mrs E Bryant

Don't go there! This hotel claims to be fully inclusive - you have to pay extra for the use of a tiny fridge, TV, and the air con.
The rooms are so small and cramped. When we first arrived and were shown our room our hearts sank, it was one of the rooms on the side of the hotel, the balcony wasn't big enough to sit opposite each other, had we wanted to sit out there.
We asked to be moved to another room the next day, which give the manager his due he did straight away. The room was hardly any bigger but bonus we did have a balcony.
The standard of cleanliness was not good, towels and bedding never looked clean - even when eventually we did get clean towels! The shower is like something out of the dark ages - lucky if you got water coming through at all.
The pool area was not particularly clean and very scruffy - the all inclusive bar appeared dark, dingy and dirty - plastic beakers - but if you paid for a drink from the bar at the front which was very bright, clean and you got a proper glass!
Meals were taken in the sister hotel opposite - bars seem to be just the same there! The "buffet" consisted of various bowels of salad items - not very appetising - and the one main course - no choice. I never tried the deserts as they looked manky!
I don't know what I expected really as I have been on some wonderful all inclusive holidays - this was definitely not all inclusive and we ended up eating out as the variety of food was extremely poor.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My partner called our room a dog kennel and if we hadn't laughed at the state of the place I would have cried. The rep was as good as useless and just shrugged her shoulders and said can't be moved anywhere as there isn’t anywhere. Her attitude was put up and shut up.
If you are reading this please don’t think I am just moaning for the sake of moaning, I have never felt strongly before to add a review and want to warn people, please don’t go there - it is worse than Fawlty Towers.

Stayed at Hotel Juniper in September...

Sep 2007, Mr M Jacobs

Stayed at Hotel Juniper in September in the middle of a heat wave. Air conditioning was free, very big bonus. Stayed in Gable end room 101, very basic and small but only used for sleeping.
Pool wonderful. Cleaners 5 out of 10.
Just watch the exchange they cannot count and shortchange you all the time.
Breakfast basic but good.
Icmeler itself very good - we were bed and breakfast and ate out every night in different restaurants with loads of entertainment. Would go back to same Hotel.

I've noticed that the reviews of this...

Sep 2007, Mrs F Wardrop

I've noticed that the reviews of this hotel have went down hill since 2006 perhaps since they introduced the all inclusive option with same amount of staff try to do a lot more work. I know the reception guy did a 26 hour shift and often seen the cleaners at 10pm at night.
The room we got given was very small attic not great if your tall. I'm sure the floor, bath and sink was never cleaned during our 14 day stay just the very basics, toilet cleaned, bins empted and fresh towels. I might have had a change of sheets but I think they where just turned around as there was a small rip in mine and it was still there.
You can manage to get a shower after 5 if you turn the shower on and wait 20 mins, at night the drains start to smell, if you still booked for here bring a plug-in - at times I would rather not use the loo than face the smell but did mask it a bit with crystals you find in urinals, and keeping the seat down at all times.
My air con worked fine but it was directly above the bed so your room mate was kept cool while the other froze mini bar is chargeable at 3 lira a day that just a RIP OFF.
The saving grace for this hotel is the staff, apart from the cleaners, they were great. Our holiday company went bust and he managed to contact them and get our transfers back to Dalaman. The other good thing is the pool, deep, sun from early to 6 pm plenty of sun beds
also the breakfast where nice and plenty full.
This hotel needs a Kim and Aggie make over, god knows what they did in the refurbishment in 2005.

room 3
pool 10
staff 10
I would use the hotel for the pool/staff again but I'd bring a cloth and a plug-in and demand a better room. OTHER guests had been there in May said it was spotless, a case of too many chiefs not enough Indians.

My wife and I stayed for a fortnight and found the hotel dirty.
Linen dirty, tables around poolside had jagged glass edges. Also breakfast rubbish, overall total rubbish, when you pressed the call button on the lift the cover always popped out to show bare wires would not go back.

***Do not stay here, you have been...
4 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr J Wood

***Do not stay here, you have been warned***
Rooms, beds, towels never cleaned properly in 2 weeks, if you go all inclusive be prepared to feel segregated from bed and breakfast guests, you will drink watered down alcoholic drinks out of plastic unwashed beakers which stink of Rakki in a deserted area of the hotel.
At 11pm they will switch the lights off and leave you in complete darkness even though you have a drink left.
The food is cold and very very poor, you will be eating leftovers from previous days and will probably get food poisoning like I did.
The staff are all miserable (they do not want to be there as the management spend all day and night screaming at them while you are trying to relax).
The hotel is advertised as 3 star but it has 2 stars on the reception area.
The only good thing about the hotel was that the guests were all English, so you could all tell each other that you couldn’t wait to go home to escape the hell.
Please do not think I am a whinger, we have been to Icmeler several times and the resort is fantastic and the Turkish people in general will make you feel that you are at home, I would recommend paying a bit more and staying at the Aqua or Joy Hotel (if you can book self catering at the captains table you will feel like you are in paradise).
If you are going to the Juniper or Siesta all inclusive please take money with you to spend on meals and drink as you will definitely need it

we booked hotel juniper after...

Sep 2007, Mrs Marion Baldwin

we booked hotel juniper after checking its website and reading comments from other guests we were very disappointed, we had booked transfer from dalaman airport with the manager which did not turn up which left 7 of us stranded for 2hours before we finally got another transfer, the manager did not have the decency to meet us when we requested to see him for an apology.our first day was spent around the pool we found this to be dirty with scum all around the pool and you could not see the tiles at the bottom.our rooms were adequate in size but not very clean, the shower basin which would not be suitable for anyone with a disability was filthy,we had to argue with reception before we finally got clean towels and bed linen after 1 week.although the staff were friendly and pleasant we spent as little time as possible in the hotel.we have been to icmeler 10 times and this is the only bad hotel we have stayed in

On arrival at this hotel my first...
1 / 10
Aug 2007, Miss S Ridding

On arrival at this hotel my first impression was it looked ok. We checked in and a young man took us and our cases up in the lift (which I might add was something from the Victorian ages) to the second floor.
Upon entering our room my heart sank, the room was very small. We had a six year old with us and there wasn't much room at all but hey we only needed to sleep there. Oh now the bathroom, that was a dirty old worn mess stained and black mould over the tiles, according to reviews this hotel had a referb in 2005, where?
I had to go and buy some cleaning products before any of us would use that bathroom. The hotel in my opinion was not clean; we were there for a week on an all inclusive basic.
According to staff this is the first and last year they are doing A.I. We had to eat in the sister hotel (Siesta). The food was just awful, no choice of hot food just chips/rice and Meat as the chef called it, nothing had a label, so god knows what it all was, there was plenty choice of salad, tomatoes & cold pasta & even cold broccoli!
There was nothing that our six year old liked only chips & pasta. The pool was fine, no problems getting a sun lounger, the staff were all quiet friendly especially Ali who worked the bar.
We stayed one week, never had our sheets changed and towels changed only once, the cleaners were seen asleep. Our room was not cleaned everyday only the bins emptied.
I will definitely never return to this hotel.
