AB Viladomat Hotel

Stayed here for three nights. Great service and friendly staff. Rooms are spotless and a minor problem with the WC was rectified immediately. Short walk to metro and bus stops - longer walk to main tourist sites but buy a multi journey ticket at the metro station (valid for buses and metro) and its so cheap who cares. SOme nice local bars are nearby if you want a cheap beer/snack. Have just rebooked to stay in February 2006.

We stayed at the hotel from Christmas Eve until 28 December 2005. I requested a high floor and was extremely lucky in getting Room 701 which has a fabulous quite large outside patio area complete with table and chairs (I don't think the other rooms have any balconies or patios)so would definitely be a bonus in warmer weather for eating and sitting in the sunshine. The room was extremely clean, bathroom fabulous with free toiletries and breakfast was really good - great choice including local champagne and loads of variety with both hot and cold selection - even chocolate cake - all for 25 euro for two people. The staff are extremely helpful and we would definitely stay there again. It was very easy to get to the hotel from the airport - 20 mins (22 euro) on arrival and 15 mins (17 euro) on our return journey. Taxis are extremely easy and plentiful so no problem getting out and about at any time of the day. Plenty of good places to eat including excellent tapas bars. Definitely recommend the old town and The Ramblas but masses to see and do in most parts of this great city.

visited hotel on 11th of december for 2 nights.hotel can be found easily by getting bus outside airport staight to sants station.then purchase a t10 ticket for metro which gives you 10 journeys,it saves queing. take metro to entenca and hotel is about 10 minute walk. las ramblas is about a 20 minute walk from hotel. hotel is very clean, and have spacious rooms,and the breakfast is superb, with everything you could imagine on display.a must see is the nou canp stadium ,the metro takes you there,get off at coll blanc,and walk 5 minutes to ground. the tour is great, and costs 10 euros for adults.if you want somewhere cheap to eat,there is a pizza place across the road from hotel.

My wife and me stayed at the Ab Viladomat Hotel in middle October , was a great experience!!! It was the first time in Barcelona and what an excellent city. First of all when we arrive everybody of the Hotel treats us like home , we didn't know much about the city and Reception was always very helpful , enthusiastic and give us some advices on what to do. The room was great, clean ,spacious and comfortable with this modern style a little bit minimalistic. In the restaurant where they have breakfast was delicious, we were very surpised they have natural orange juice and with a bottle of cava every day!!! One day I could not sleep and I was talking with David at night , he told me there is a coffee machine all night in the Cafeteria for free, I had a tea and a croissant from the early morning. As far as location is concerned is just a nice walk to Las Ramblas in downtown and is a very nice neighborhood for Restaurants , Bars and Shops. Overall the Experience in Barcelona and AB Viladomat was great. Thank you for giving us this warm and feelnes like home. If we come back again to Barcelona absoloutly will be AB Viladomat our choose for sure. Thank you make our stay wonderful. ,

We just got back from a cruise in barcelona and stayed 3 nights previous to our trip at the Ab Viladomat. When we returned we stayed one night so we could make our connecting flights the next day. All of our reservations were checked and confirmed before the cruise. When we returned for the one night stay (six rooms) we waited for 4 hours for 3 rooms to be made available to us. 30 - 40 people were checked in while we waited. At 4 pm we were made aware by Jenna Ramon, the manager that there was no room for 2 of our party. She made every excuse she could while all 11 of us were furious. She then, after 45 minutes of arguing gave our party a room-stating that someone else would be losing there room now, like we cared at this point. I asked to speak to the her manager and she said she was the manager. So if you are desperate for a room--stay here---David who I had worked with most of the time for this trip was on holiday and he was more customer service oriented--but this Jenna needs to go to customer service 101.

My family and I stayed at this great hotel. We found a special fare on the internet and paid approx. 50 pounds a night. Rooms were very nice and clean. Hotel is just out of the centre of the city but is only a couple of tube stops or a short bus ride away. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We took a taxi from the airport which cost us 25 euros, which we thought was OK. The bus is apparently cheaper, but we couldn't be bothered trying to sort that one out! Arrived at the hotel and the first impressions of it were very nice. We weren't let down by the room either. Rooms were a good, comfortable size, spotlessly clean, complimentary toiletries were replenished every day and the mini bar was good value. It was a good 20 min. walk to Las Ramlas area which wasn't a problem for us, it was good exercise after eating a wonderful breakfast. Everything you could possibly want to eat and more! Hot food, cold meats, fresh fruit, bread, rolls, cakes of various descriptions, champagne, yoghurts, coffees, teas, something for everyone. We used the bar for drinks before we went out in the evening and again, it was reasonably priced. I would certainly not hesitate in recommending this hotel, but as I mentioned it's walking distance to some of the sights which may put some people off, but I would definitely stay here again. One tip... don't eat anywhere at Las Ramblas, we got ripped off. 25 euros each for an omlette and a 2 litre glass of coke. Why they had to serve it in 2ltr glasses, I've no idea, but avoid eating here if you don't want to be ripped off. It's a nice place to people watch, but not nice when you get the bill! Enjoy!!!

Hotel was superb, large rooms, massive beds and very clean and tidy. However, it is let down by being a little too far away from the action, i.e. La Rambla, the harbour area, etc. Price was good though - we paid EUR70 a night.

Very nice hotel good located in Barcelona. Bus to the airport stops just 5 minutes away. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Dining in the restaurant is nice and well priced.

Visited late May - booked via lastminute but when we arrived we had to relocate to City Park (problems with computer systems - we weren't the only ones affected! ) Although disappointed, transfer was already arranged to take us there which was good. In hindsight move was good as although city park further out -- metro was nearer and this was really good for our party travelling about barcelona. City park gave us rates for hotel when we booked out and on seeing these would probably go direct in future
