Needs refurbishing and a thorough...

Needs refurbishing and a thorough cleaning. Reception and bar staff very friendly and competent: overpriced though for dilapidated rooms - I booked two doubles and neither were satisfactory.
Bathroom taps were difficult or did not work and the restaurant waitress turned us away twenty minutes before closing time even though four people were completing their meal. She was particularly unfriendly.
I have moved our business meetings to another hotel.

Stayed here for a cheap(ish) weekend. The cold bath tap didn't work i.e. no cold water. The shower was not very good - water all over the floor. The bathroom floor needed a good cleaning.
The worst thing was the DUST on every surface in the bedroom; it had not been dusted for ages. The net curtain was filthy with black dust on the top and water stains at the bottom. Bed was comfortable, but I dare not inspect that!
The public rooms are as dirty, as I discovered running my finger over the ledges! Bar toilets; the wash basins have scale build up which anyone knows how to remove
The good points: friendly staff and late checkout.
