Wonderful staff
It is a pleasure to write a review for this hotel. I only stayed for a weekend, but wish I had stayed longer. The staff are attentive and always keen to go the extra mile to make one's stay enjoyable. The food, rooms and facilities are all excellent. However, it is the friendly and efficient manner in which the staff undertake everything that is simply delightful. Altogether, one of the nicest weekends I've spent in a hotel.
can't fault the staff
In this day and age where we complain about manners and 'the youth of today' it is refreshing to find a hotel where the staff will bend over backwards to help with every possible need. Sure the hotel is basic but great value for money, especially for the location. Reading this site I think a lot of people have forgotton that. I would definately stay again, especially if all I need is a bed at the end of the night from all the shopping and partying I was doing in Birmingham. THANK YOU
never again
never again. worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Hotel bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever had, non-smoking room stank of smoke, side of bath stuck together with black sellotape, bathroom seemed unclean, hotel in back street location and unsafe for lone females as no evening meal available so you have to go out to get something to eat. Noisy room as poor windows let noise in. I will never stay in any Comfort Inn again after this one.
Rip off!
we found the rooms very cold with hardly any bedding, the bathroom definitely needs a refit!lift wasnt working male receptionist stood watching us 2 females struggle downstairs with our cases. and was then rude to us by saying they were glad we were going so they could clean room, even though it was 30 minutes before check out time.we definitely wouldnt go back! be warned!
No comfort here!
This was the second Comfort Inn I have stayed at & I shall certainly not be using this chain of hotels again! My overall impression on arrival was that it was seedy - chipped paintwork & dirty carpets. My room was a tiny garrett on the 4th floor. I`m only 5 feet tall, but banged my head on the sloping ceiling three times! The bathroom was minute & entirely plastic! The shower didn`t work properly & wasn`t secured to the wall. The tiny television wasn`t working properly, with a snowy picture, no BBC2 & sound that went up & down on its... more
great location friendly helpful staff
my boyfriend and i stayed here for a night so we could shop til we dropped and then have a meal and a few drinks ! i must admit from the outside the hotel does not look that appealing but once inside the staff were most helpful and friendly and the rooms were everything we expected on such a cheap budget ! clean with tea and coffee and even biscuits !!we never made breakfast ...too many the night before but were very happy with our stay and would definately stay again !thanks all
Good value for money
As a single female I visted Birmingham on business and stayed here for two nights. A warm, clean comfortable hotel, I would be very happy to stay there again and have my family with me. Very convenient for shops and station. Not a modern building but full of character.
Not so comfort Inn
Immediatey sensed something was wrong with Hotel, just by the reaction of the cab driver from the airport. I was shocked to say the least. I have stayed in many Comfort Inns, but this is was the oldest, hole in the wall, most basic I have encountered. Honeymooners stay away, there is nothing charming about this Hotel. I was attending a reunion in B'ham so my trip was overnight. If my family had accompanied me, I would have moved on. The only redeeming quality to this Hotel is the location, literally steps away from B'ham's lovely,... more
Basic but good
Stayed here in January 2004 the night before our National conference. Rooms rather small but clean. Only things against hotel are no resturant service in evening (but many good resurants in Birmingham) and bar keeps 'pub' hours so closes at 11:00 pm even for residents. But if you want somewhere 'cheap' near new Street Station and central Birmingham its fine.
Fantastic Bar Staff
We experienced the best service ever provided at the Comfort Inn's pub by their wonderful bar staff - Sarah Parkins, Desmond and Choy. The regulars there, always crack a few jokes now and then namely 'the beard', 'flaps' a.k.a. 'Sex God' and so on. The staff treat all their customers with respect and smile a lot.
