Set well off main road with an access that could be difficuilt if not use to narrow roads, but well compensated for with peacefullness and definately a place to sit and enjoy some me time after buisy days in Bath. First impression was like slipping back in time, but once inside through the main entrance that looked out of place, compared to the grand style of building it brings you back into the 21st centuery, including fast interent communication facilities, aside of more sedatery methods the older generation like myself enjoys. Breakfast served in a well presented dining room with grand chandoliers was well presented via a buffet style approach of copious choices. Dinner was served by a alocarte menue system was well presented with the eliquant of sufficiancyfor a pleasing palette

My wife and I recently stayed at the Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel for our wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time. This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and once again we were delighted with everything.
On arrival the receptionist informed us that we had a room upgraded due to it being a ‘special occasion’ the room had excellent views down the valley and a small seating area in the bay window. I suggest if you ever book this hotel for any occasion that you inform the reception prior to your arrival and you could be in for a nice surprise. The room was light and nicely decorated with a smallish en-suite bathroom, but with all the facilities and most importantly very clean. The bed was comfortable and had nice plump pillows, unlike the flat biscuit pillows I’ve had in other hotels. To sum up we were very happy with the room.
On our first evening we decided to take a trip into Bath, which was only around a 15 min drive away and we found parking very easily. We ate in an Indian restaurant (I forget the name, sorry) and it was very enjoyable, we then wandered around the city centre and called into a couple of the local bars for a drink before returning back to the hotel.
The next day we took a trip to Longleat Safari park, this is a little further than Bath but still driveable in under 25 mins and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.
The second night we decided not to drive and ate in the Hop Pole Inn, the hotels own village pub, the food and service was excellent and I suggest you try the fillet steak as a main course, mine was delicious. Getting to the pub is easy because it’s all downhill, but on the way back (after a couple glasses of wine) the driveway seems a lot steeper, but well worth the effort.
Breakfast was the only meal we ate in the hotel and this was buffet style, no complaints here, everything was hot and plenty of it. Tea and coffee were served to the table and the staff were very attentive. On the morning we checked out (7am, as we had a long drive ahead) the receptionist was happy and smiling and asked us how we enjoyed our stay and if she could make us any ongoing reservations. I thought that this was an excellent idea even though we didn’t require any other hotels.
All in all we had a great time and will definitely return again in the future, maybe for next year’s anniversary. Many thanks to all the staff at the hotel.
