As a basic, efficient base for touring Bath and the locality it does its job well. The rooms are clean, tidy and well presented albeit somewhat cramped but it is seriously let down but the outside appearance, think 1980's Sixth Form College and the shabby level of maintenance i.e.: rusty gates, stained external walls, cobwebs on the upswept terrace.
On this occasion our stay in our "executive room" was enlivened by the large gathering of local drunks outside the unlocked gates to the Avon river walkway less than 100 meters away from our door and the jet-engine noises of the 125 pulling into/out of the nearby station. In addition whilst the staff were efficient they made no real attempt to make you welcome.
Overall a three star hotel trying to do four star and not recommended for a romantic weekend away... one for the business account methinks.

The Menzies Waterside hotel is situated on the outskirts of Bath on the ring road, so it is relatively easy to locate. It is a modern clean hotel which is very much geared up for business clients, with desk and internet connections in the bedrooms.
We were at first allocated a room which was meters away from the road and the traffic noise from the ring road was quite loud. After complaining to the staff we were transferred to a lovely double room located right next to their large pond, very peaceful and tranquil.
The staff were only too pleased to help and made us feel welcome. Bath town centre is a 10 minute walk away so you can visit the Roman Baths etc without needing to find parking ! Well worth a visit
