The Laguna park hotel is a great place to stay it has a groovy pool which is maintained to a high standard and a good waterslide although this does appear to be old and in need of replacement.
The hotel its self has lovely room large rooms that are kept very clean by the maids the staff however on the other hand were not the best as most of them speak very poor English and don't seem to have much pride in what they do. If your German then hey no problem they will chat to you. A tip if you want to keep your room on then make sure you do it at least 2 days before you are due to depart otherwise like us you may encounter problems.
Our rep Chris is a fantastic rep and I cannot recommend him enough he was always there to answer any questions and the obsession bar crawl is a big must if your between 20 - 30. Lucy and Anna were also fantastic although not our reps they made our time more enjoyable.
Me and my partner are gay and found sunny beach not to be the best place to visit they don't seem to mind but make you feel very awkward if all you want to do like me is hold your partners hand and enjoy a meal for 2.
Still we had a great time and if you want to chill out relax, drink and eat then there are so many places to choose from its a hard decision to make each night.
Most things out there are cheap although some beer can be expensive and I recommend you don't buy tobacco off the street traders or you may get more then you bargained for.
We would not return to sunny beach again its the next Costa del Sol but if its the kind of thing you like then go you won't be disappointed.

I promised myself that I would write a review on my hotel when I got back from Bulgaria as couldn’t find anything before I went! So here it is!
I got back yesterday morning after going with 3 friends and I loved it. Firstly the hotel, we booked ours a few months in advance through Thomas Cook for £289, which for a 4* hotel and flight seemed such a bargain that we were sure there would be something wrong but it was great. Yes, there were much posher hotels in sunny beach but these also would’ve cost about £400 more at least!
The hotel itself is very clean, tidy and fresh. The rooms are basic but big and the beds are comfy (that’s a lot coming from me!) Big shower in the bathroom too! The staff are friendly, even if they don’t speak the best English! There is a big pool which has a water slide and a play park, so I should imagine ideal for those with children.
It is slap bang in the centre, so much so that every time we got lost we easily ended back at the hotel! But at the same time it is far enough away from any noise! Perfectly located I would say!
The Thomas Cook rep is Lucy and she’s an absolute darling - always on hand to help you out etc, etc.
We only ate breakfast at the hotel, which was just a buffet, there wasn’t that much choice but I only ate toast anyway so I wasn’t fussed! I did however hear from some people who ate dinner there that it wasn’t overly nice, so maybe give that one a miss. There are so many restaurants etc in sunny beach that cost next to nothing that you don’t need to anyway. The resort is massive and there are so many things to do. I would definitely recommend the dinner show at khans tent, 4 course meal, bottle of wine each and show for little over £20, bargain.
All in all I had a fantastic time and was really impressed with the accommodation, especially for the price! Hope this helps those who are dubious about their visit. (n.b. This review is coming from someone who will only usually stay in a 5 star!)

We have just returned from sunny beach we went on the 7th July 2006. Laguna park hotel is a nice and clean hotel. The pools are ok with water slides but are old and crumbling away a bit. Not the best, but my kids 4 of them enjoyed the pools. The beach was lovely soft sand and clean, on lots of reviews I read before going said sea full of jelly fish. We never seen any. The sea goes way out before getting deep.
Beds and parasols are 18 levs to hire for a day. Or you can put towels on the sand at no cost. Food and drink is not expensive at all we went out for dinner all 6 of us had dinner, ice cream desert and drinks for under 90 levs which is just over £30. Then other days dinner and drinks cost 40levs which is under £15. Night time, not many places cater for kids like in some countries we have been to.
We only found the odd place that had a play area for the kids so you can stop and have a drink. The happy duck have a poster offering kids to play with ps2 and xbox etc. But they are not turned on when we went in. We sat down and waited for someone to come and take our order. The staff were to busy filling 100s of shot glasses for the night life people and never even saw us so we went else where.
We played mini golf. And did other bits that included kids and enjoyed our time. Its quite a noisy place as people are going out all hours of the night and coming back around 5am. Its more of a place for party people at night. Day time nice and lots of shopping. Kids love traveling around on golf carts. Overall the holiday was very enjoyable. Weather was very hot. Mosquitoes were a bit of a problem the last 2 days.

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from Bulgaria, we found that Laguna Part was a very clean and very well situated hotel with plenty of things to do in the hotel from sauna fitness room hair dressers and massage room. We found that the hotel was aimed at germen holiday makers from the breakfast ranging from germen sausage to cheese bread and cakes and biscuits.
The maids and some of the reception staff are very polite and pleasant, but the waiting staff and others are very ignorant and don’t seem like they really want to talk to you at all but this is not the same attitude they take to the Germans.
Sunny beach is a very large resort and you would think that there is a lot to do but you are wrong!!! if you like to shop sit in the sun drink or eat then this is for you, we found that we got board of the heat and constantly eating and drinking and looked for other things to do such as and wakeboarding water skiing and seeing historic attractions.
The beach is very clean but expensive to hire sun lounger and umbrella (18 levs) and the local beer ranging from 1 lv to 3:50lv and imported liqueur from 5lv just for the sprit.
but all in all it was a very good holiday didn’t come back with much of a tan as storms are few are far between its not always sunny in sunny beach more like cloudy beach!

I visited Bulgaria this year with my boyfriend and was pleasantly surprised.
We stayed in the Laguna Park Hotel which has great positioning, all the facilities there were good and the rooms kept clean. We had made a good choice in picking this hotel. The breakfast was not very nice with not much selection for the English holiday maker but we were eating out in the evenings anyway so didn’t mind. Plus food and drink is so cheap it doesn’t cost much to have to buy it.
The beach is lovely very well maintained with life guards situated the whole way along the seafront so good if you have children.
I enjoyed my trip to Bulgaria and would recommend it to anyone wanting a holiday with a bit of everything, lots of bars and restaurants along with clubs if that’s what you are after or you can venture out to a quieter town such as Nessebar to relax. Not to mention the warm weather and cheap beer.
The resort of Sunny Beach has something for everyone to enjoy!

The hotel Laguna park was ideally placed in the middle of the sunny beach resort. You were 250 yards away from main street, 250 yards form the beach and 250 yards from the nice part (rustic) of sunny beach.
The staff at Laguna were pretty miserable. The odd member were ok like a couple of the receptionists, the pool barman, and the cleaners were lovely apart from that......
I think this hotel is aimed at German visitors as opposed to the English. The food was awful. Again if you are Scandinavian it would be nice, but the English don’t really have alot of choice.
The hotel itself is one of the finest in the area. the swimming pool is lovely, and the waterslide is great. The building and rooms are very nice. A bit of an odd smell as it seems to be a Bulgarian thing that they mop the carpets which always gives off a damp smell!
i would recommend this hotel if your eating out, as it is placed smack bang in the centre of sunny beach.
Our Rep. Daniel was fantastic. Really nice fella.
English beware of fried Bulgarian food because unless your stomach is made from lead it will have an effect!

We were very worried after reviews we had read, but definitely no need to be, this is a very friendly, clean hotel. I would recommend it to anyone, rooms are spacious and comfortable, large balconies with an airer for clothes and towels, staff at reception were very friendly along with waiting staff always a hello and a smile, all those complaining about breakfast there is nothing wrong with it, you must be very fussy or only like your English fry up's, there is plenty to choose from. It was always full, and its not geared up for Germans as all reports state, its continental, as there were plenty of nationalities staying there.
Beach is very good, soft white sand and the sea is one of the warmest we have been in. Baked potato bar on the beach is worth going to very good value for money.
The hotel is far enough away from any lively nightlife, but close enough to all the main restaurants and bars. Bar next door to the hotel cheapest for beer and cocktails.
Jeep safari is worth a go as well as the Yacht cruise.
Do not be put off by any review the Laguna Park is a hotel I would go back to again. Well worth a visit to Sunny beach if that’s what you are after a beach holiday. It will be a shame when they join the Euro.
