Thumbs up!
We have just returned from a week at the Pineta. The facilities at the hotel were excellent, and the grounds/pools well maintained. The rooms we had were quite basic and could do with a bit of attention (leaky shower-thank god the bathroom floors are tiled!) but were kept very clean by the lovely, smiley cleaning staff who visited daily. I found all of the staff very friendly and helpful, trying their hardest to make the holiday enjoyable. A lot of guests were complaining about the standard and variety of the food...I found the salads were always fresh, and there was always a small variety of hot food, different choices every meal time which I found tasty and filling. I think some guests see that the hotel is rated as 3-4 star and expect a very high standard at mealtimes..the food isn't a-la-carte but we all enjoyed it! We have all said we would stay at the Pineta again in the future, and as a regular visitor to Marmaris, it's definately one of the nice hotels to stay in :)
not good for all inclusive
staff and entertainment staff were lovely and friendly. The Hotel and location were lovely. Rooms need upgrading and space for your clothes. Food neeeds a COMPLETE OVERHAUL. A complete new menu putting in , the lack of choice and it always being cold. They kept moving where we wre eating due to catering for outside weddings and functions. If you are looking for a good deal with All Inclusive I don't recommend hereas you have to spend twice as much going out for your meals. I definately will not be travelling with Goldtrail again.
love it
Hi we stayed at the pineta hotel for 2 weeks and had a great time here. There are 3 large swimming pools 2 out door and 1 in door all 3 was clean and warm the indoor one was the warmest. The hotel rooms are small not enough to put all your stuff away, but was clean and tidy new bedding every day and towels. The food was not much cop the soup was the best and the bread was lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The entertainers worked hard and are very friendly to they want you all to join in and have a good time. We was not far from the beach just a short walk down the hill across the road and you was there. You can get boat trips from the beach and there is lots to eat here to lots of english bars. There is a market right out side the hotel every thursday pick up lots of goodies here and very very cheap. Do take english money they love it much more then there own. There is a hairdresser on site and a little sweet shop which is run buy 2 brothers who are lovely if they dont have what you want just ask and they will get it. Cant wait to go back next year. Have a good holiday and enjoy!!!!!
I will never go back to Pineta Hotel, Marmaris
After arriving at the Pineta on Sat 8th April, it all looked ok. We unpacked our cases and headed down to the 'hut' (well it was supposed to be a restaurant) for some thing to eat. Food was very basic, salad was in abundance (if you like it that is) This did not change all week, salad, salad and more salad. Queue's for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The childrens food was sparce, on one evening there was no food for them. There was no entertainment for children for three days. Although reps did make amends towards the middle to end of our week. I ended up making a two page report (complaints) to the rep which I feel summed up a miserable week. I will never return to Marmaris nor the Pineta. We were informed that this hotel was actually a 2* equivalent, not a 3* or 4* as quoted in brochures.
Not as bad as some say.
We stayed at the Pineta as a couple on all inclusive basis in April 2006. The complex is lovely with three clean and well maintained pools. The rooms are clean and functional although they are showing signs of age and could do with refurbishment. The reception area and bars are also in need of refurbishment. The entertainment is limited at night but plenty to do during the day. The entertainers actively encourage joining in all the activities and are really friendly and helpful. The food leaves a lot to be desired, with very limited choice for breakfast and dinner (unless you like salad) but we did not starve. The hotel fitness suite is excellent with massage/sauna/turkish bath etc available. This was our first visit to Turkey and it is a lovely country, however we will not be back. The constant harrassment from shopkeepers is incredible. It borders on assault at times. You could not go walking or sightseeing without being constantly hassled. This spoiled an otherwise good holiday.
Would you like salad with that?
My partner and I booked a holiday through Goldtrail Holidays (not one to be used again) for one week. Due to an overbooking at our original hotel, we were 'upgraded' from a B & B in Icmeler to the All Inclusive Pineta. We were supposed to arrive in Turkey at 2.00 in the afternoon on Saturday, 1st April, but due to a 5 hour delay in Manchester, then at 1hour 45minute transfer from Dalaman we finally arrived at 12.35am on 2nd April. Not a good start to the holiday - anyway enough about the flight the hotel. Upon arrival the reception area looked impressive, we signed in, and our luggage was taken to our room by one of the porters. The room was basic, the bathroom had a shower in it, and the balcony overlooked the pool area. Exhausted, we dropped our bags and decided to die.... The next morning I went for breakfast (as my partner was knackered)this is best described as different (hard boiled eggs, stewed tea, grilled tomatoes with cheese, cereal - own brand cornflakes and cocoa pops, cold meat and cheeses oh and not forgetting bread). Needless to say, breakfast was missed out for the rest of the holiday. This choice was available every morning - no variety. Lunch and dinner consisted of the same types of salads each day (I swear the uneaten salads from the previous day was recycled over the week for both lunch and dinner). The hot food selection was sparse with very little choice - 1 vegetarian,1 meat dish (mostly tasteless), with either rice/potato dependent on what the main dish was. Oh not forgetting, salad. The snacks were of cold hard chips (french fries, pizza, breaded chicken. Most disappointing. Did we mention the salad? The hotel staff on the whole was approachable and friendly (especially the entertainment staff). Although outdoor pool was freezing the indoor pool towards the end of the week was nice and warm. To it's credit the pool area was very clean, as were the hotel rooms, even though they were a bit dated in terms of decor. We wouldn't class this hotel as a 4* rating, but more a 3*. We must admit if it wasn't for the people we met on holiday and our relaxed approach to the holiday, we would have requested a move to the Deluxe part of the hotel. We would recommend you go with an open mind to the hotel, and not to have high expectations as you may be disappointed, in addition we suggest you take some extra cash for eating out, unless you want to turn into a salad.
turkeys terrible hotel, gobble, gobble
I booked a holiday with my friends from glasgow and my family arrived at the Pineta Hotel around midday, at first glance this hotel looked quite impressive for what we had paid for, but that soon disappeared after the reception, there were too many guests and not enough rooms because there was almost 4 functions for guests which always had weddings in them and guests were left in the reception wandering around with drinks, the food was disgusting as you were given an abundance of salad, and salad and even more salad, i think we lost 3 stone in the two weeks. they do not cater for the english as they were very much in favour of the german and dutch guests, who always took the sunbeds and if you happened to get a sunbed they would just throw your towel in the trees. There was the odd time when you got chips, which turned out to be small and hard and they often did cold rice, which is better than nothing, in the end we paid to move hotels because we had children with us and there was an incident where some children were attemptedly took from the hotel, but the reps were informed of this, the entertainment is something which has a required taste as this was the same every night but on the up side we were given something different as they let off foiled party poppers which landed on the electric cables and left the hotel in complete darkness for over 2 days but that was as exciting as the entertainment got.In the end we paid to move to a different hotel, and go on ask me that question Would we go again, not if your life depended on it.
dont bother going
We arrived in the daytime at the Pineta Hotel and we quite impressed at first as it looked lovely, we thought we had a bargain at first glance, how wrong we were!!! The rooms were shabby and in desperate need of repair, and it was not just our room we went along with friends and thier room was even worse, we had toddlers and we were put on the very top floor of the hotel and balcony was hanging off, and they refused to move us because there were no rooms available in the hotel. The food was really poor, nothing for children except chips, chips and more chips. The food was very basic. They hold 4 function rooms for guests which I dont know if its just in May but there was a wedding in each of the rooms almost every night and there was nowhere for the guests to go and when you did get an entertainment nite, you could not go and get a drink when the entertainment was on, which could last up to 3 hours and the bar would not serve you for that length of time, we eventually paid to move to the Blue Bays Hotel, which was a fantastic hotel and go on ask us would we go back again? NO NO NO
lots going on all the time
the food was ok it had a lot of variety. however some of the food was slightly unusual (chicken breast pudding as a desert). but loads of pizza and chips for the kids activities were excelent fantistic entertainment staff on the go from 7am till the free nite club bus at 11pm, which returned to the hotel at 3am. great location only a 3min walk to the beach with beautilful sea veiws from the hotel, yet still out of all the hustle and bustle of the busy bar and cafe area. millions of places to eat and drink. loads of cheap water sports on the beach. athough theres so much happening at the hotel you will not need to leave it. rooms clean but a little shabby though dont let this put you of as this hotel is fantasic value for money. £300 all-inclusive in june weather was sorching the whole time drinks flowing FREELY!!! and we all put on a few lbs going back this june cant wait
cheap and cheerful
We travelled to the pineta this oct, with our two small children, who absolutely loved it, we found it fine, the rooms were clean and so were the sheets but the rooms were tired and were getting ready for a complete re-decoration. The food was limited but we all found somthing to eat every day and my children didnt complain once and they are quite hard to please normally. Most of the staff were friendly but i found a couple of them were quite rude i think it was because the hotel was close to closing for the winter and they couldnt be bothered The entertainment was predictable but this didnt seem to bother the kids . All in all it was a good holiday but i dont think i would return to the pineta or marmaris
