DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!
1 / 10
Jan 2012, Cheapskate

I took my family to what I thought was going to be a 3 star hotel, this certainly was not the case. When we arrived the hotel was roasting with no airconditioning working and the whole place smelled like something had died, woke up, been sick and died again. The room that we had booked was a family room and was right up on the top floor with no airconditioning. The windows were below waist height and with 2 young children was a terrifying thought. After complaining for about 3 days the really unhelpful staff eventually put us in the so-called modern block. This is when thing went from bad to really, really bad. The room could just about fit 4 beds in if the furniture was moved out and the airconditioning unit which was above the beds leaked constantly. The food was an absolute disgrace and this is coming from someone who has eaten really bad food just to survive. After the 2nd day I refused to let my wife and children eat there and so they went round the corner to eat.
After about 2 days of being in this hole I personally started to feel really ill but put it down to the heat and not being used to eating all the crap that was on offer. A further 4 days went by and things got so bad that I was admitted to hospital with severe food poisoning and pnuemonia most likely brought on by the air-conditioning.
If this review would stop only one person booking at this place then it would have been worth the 10 mins it took to write - PLEASE DON'T GO!!!!

This was my first ever holiday and mistakenly didnt read the reviews before we went! The hotel was quite run down and the rooms left alot to be desired,we found a toe nail and a pill on the floor,as we went at the end of October it was coming to the end of season so none of the hotels were full,we overheard a couple asking for a transfer to the sister hotel Pineta Deluxe so we decided we would do the same, for an extra £10 a night it was completely worth it! It had an indoor heated pool,2 outdoor pools, sauna, steam room,it was the standard of a hotel that you would expect! Club Pineta is a holiday place for people who aren't that bothered by cleanliness and just want as good time and dont plan on spending much time at the hotel,i would not recommend it! Go for Pineta Deluxe and dont be put off by the reviews of the Club Pineta as it is nothing like it!!

Stay clear from this hotel its filthy and old dont think its ever had anything new added since it was built the corridors and lifts are filthy and when arrived in my so called family room i was shocked to notice i had to squeeze through the tiniest space ever to get to the bed were i wud be sleeping because a bed was layed out right by the door were u walk in the 4 of us kept banging our toes on the wall there was dust everywere in the room the shower room and toilet was filthy the shower curtain looked like it never had a clothe put to it ever and the toilet brush was soiled up i complained about the double bed having a single sheet on it the 1st night aswell as the shower room being in a bad way then went bk the 2nd day told them i want a double sheet and that it was 2nd time i asked she then asked me the room number which i told her the reponse was that room only has 2 beds that explain it all i wasnt in a family room they had just threw an xtra bed in there right by the door as the room i had was meant for just 3 ppl with a double n single bed the food was disgusting with flys all over the food werent labeled or english the only thing i knew was the chips and wedges the only thing i could say was nice at this hotel was the outside with 3pools surrounded by palm trees and the kids stuff which u had to pay for the ice creams werent free for kids and u were only aloud snacks between 2/4pm there was only ever burger n chips or nuggets n chips but ive never seen burgers or nuggets like them in my life the entertainment was good but only for 2hours per night no more drinks allowed after 11.50pm if this was a hotel back at home it would be shut down due to health n safety n hygeine and be refurbished oh and i couldnt help but notice some reveiws on here someone said it was getting knocked down in october 2010 well i heard it was coming down the end of this year i believe thats the rumours the hotel spreads around each year to excuse the bad conditions it is in but dont believe its true now ive seen that someone has stated it there was people crying in reception thats how bad it is.

  • Advice: full refurbishment inside and train there staff to be more pleasant and clean

definately NOT a 4 star and don't expect a room on arrival!!

Jul 2011, clack

-Arrived at around 6a.m with 2 teens.Room finally given at 6p.m.(No public places in the hotel are airc onditioned so with temperatures between 40-53* c it was v. hot!!) Air con and fridge did not work. Finally fixed at 9p.m ish!! Apparently we were lucky to get c block which is new and once all problems were sorted it actually was a good room.(none of us Brits were given one on arrival even though we had all paid and booked for the day before).were told that hotel had overbooked by 15-20%.Daily observed people having the same problem.Lots had started petitions as no joy with reception staff towards a refund for the lost day.We were told that the manager had gone on holiday, however we guessed who he was by the merc. in a special spot outside the front of the hotel and his photos around the place with awards?! and his son too ( jointly managing), who apparently didn't speak English but had his picture portrayed in a large frame by the dining room, a dead give away!!They were unhelpful and got security to physically take people out of the reception area.
-Food and drink; we always found something to eat as we are not fussy eaters, but the same sort of food daily, we liked the bread, cheeses, salads, rice and chips.I guess in fairness it's probably what the Turks eat, so while in Turkey...you wouldn't starve. drinks are limited, gin, vodka, beer are the only local alcoholic ones, but I understand that they are normally the only ones served in all hotels.
-Rooms; ours was only cleaned on the day before we left! we helped ourselves from the cleaners trolley ,to clean towels, toilet rolls and shower gel! She didn't get a tip
we heard that things were stolen every day and locks picked, but we tend to take things that are not valuable, so...
- Our Rep.Gokhan was useless, and apparently he had resigned as the holiday mate rep.(he told us on the last day)we got him to sign a statement confirming that we were not given a room on arrival etc.so that we could take it up with the travel agent here.
=2 Star hotel. but resort was lovely .
-We didn't let our initial shock and disappointment spoil our holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed it and met some lovely people too.
-TIP; expect 2 star and you will be o.k.

Nightmare at Pineta Club

Jul 2011, SUMMER SHOCK HORROR 2011

Day one, arrived at hotel at 2am.first room wouldnt keep a dog in it,no shower, sink blocked, sheets stained, no towels,no aircon, wires hangingout of wall behind bed, some kind of cream smeared all over door handles, toilet chain, wardrobe, draws, remote contols, draws, very dirty.complained straight away and was told to sleep in it untill next morning, asked for shower head and clean sheets.first impressions of reception staff inept.second room, ok accept for shower cubical but i dont think there was any better as this was the so called posh c block.no welcome meeting no kind of information of surounding area and hotel facilities.food absolutely disgusting no variety, nothing labeled, repetative ,lots of flys,no aircon, tablelegs filthy, chairs filthy, floor filthy, foul smell from kitchen area.pool area not very clean, missing drainage covers, very noisey and dangerous.fith night, cleaner entered room at 3am whilst sleeping.nearly had a heartattack.she ran away down fire exit,i ran after her,to find her at reception handing the key in.i approached reception area in a very agitated manner.i was told she had found the key,if she had, why did she not hand it in earlyier, surely they have a system that tells them what rooms are occupied.reception tried to play down the situation and did not see there was a problem. I was then threatend with police because i was very agitated with response.he then became abusive shouting and throwing the keys on the floor then stormed off.tenth night six am member of staff attempted to enter room with keys to let stranger in who couldnt find his room.surely they should ask for name before letting anyone into room.was told it wouldnt happen again, not to me anyway.overall this is a very diaspointing hotel and would recommend any one not to go.oh and all the reps are a bunch of lying useless waste of space no stars for this hotel.

this place looks nothing like its photos you see me and my friend have just come back after a week in this hotel it should be stripped of the stars it does not warrant any rating from me and we had items stolen from our room as we were eating in the dining area and when we were down for breakfast the day we were checking out as the cleaning staff have no supervision over them and they are the only cleaning staff ive known to still be cleaning after 7 oclock at night. We had a attic room on the 6th floor in block c ive seen a bigger wendy house i mean when you see the photos on the web sites of this hotel it looks great but iam sorry but its not the Pineta you see the reception have no customer service skills no one can speak very good english and we got the police for our theft but for us to get a crime number we were told we would have to go to police station and pay for someone to speak english on our behalf.Hand held showers that flooded the floor because they are to lazy to clean the trays out properly loose sockets and holes in the walls wireing exposed air conditioning sounded like a tractor the whole place is a death trap, then the food i do like a variety but chicken every night not a full chicken just wings or drumsticks cooked on hot plates the best thing we had was the soups and the rice plus may i point out that none of the dishes were labeled so i feel sorry for people with food allergies because you do not know what you are eating .Breakfast also mainly eggs and what i did notice was the greed people taking more then there should but this place does not have any experienced waiting staff and people to serve on the counters where needed even on the bar areas service was shocking.I could go on but if i have myway the place will be shut down but take the advice off the reviews and dont go there if you want good food and friendly staff go down the road to club dianas steak resturant they really look after you and they do know how to cook .

READ IT ALL IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE PINETA & IT SHOULD HELP.
I know this is a bloody long review but hopefully it will help a few people who are panicking about their hotel choice like we once were!
Well, I went to the Pineta Club Hotel for a week (27th June- 4th July) with one other female friend. The first day we arrived we made the mistake of judging the hotel & the rooms on the first glance and we instantly wanted to go home, however- I'm VERY glad we didnt!!!
I have always said that a holiday is what you make of it and I don't want to sound cliche or repetitive of other reviews but don't pay for a 3* hotel unless you are prepared to stay in a 3* hotel.
The first room we were placed in was not good at all. It was very dirty and directly over the front of the hotel- so very noisy! (These rooms are fairly old so if someone a couple of floors down slammed their door - it happened often - then your whole room would shake). It wasnt too bad, I suppose being a group of two young girls, we just wanted to feel a little bit safer. So the next morning- we asked to be moved. The receptionist was helpful and offered us a room in the newer block which honestly completely transformed our holiday. The rooms are modernised (as much as you can get for a 3*) and a hell of alot cleaner. Just a lot better all round really.
*Bottom line is, when you get there- ask straight away for a room in block C and you will be much more appreciative of your holiday. So many people do it so don't be embarassed.
The grounds of the hotel are brilliant. With 2 pools outside and one inside (its a bit too hot to use the inside one though!), the pool bar being quite conveniant and the Pineta supermarket having everything you could possibly need- It's great.
Sunbeds- I recommend you get up around 7am... stick your towel on a sunbed and then go back to bed for a couple more hours- that's what we did and it worked well. They are usually all gone by about 8am.
The food. I am a fussy person so I never expected to be amazed by the cuisine (again, its an all inclusive 3* hotel- don't expect fillet steak). I do think the food has recieved a slating it didn't deserve though. There was always something for us to eat. Very nice rice, a good couple of chicken dishes including chicken drumsticks cooked in front of you. Breakfast- the chef cooked omelettes in front of you also which were nice. Snacks by the pool were hamburgers and chips and nuggets etc... also handy if you're taking children to this hotel.
The Pineta supermarket- there for all of your chocolate/crisps and junk food requirements! The family who run the supermarket are possibly the nicest people I have ever met. Go in and say hi to Jacko (the parrot) and Eddie (the cheeky guy in the shop). The shop is big and sells everything you could need- its all very reasonable prices also so always go there first! From lilo's, beach balls, toblerones and sun cream.
Turkish bath- Only go to the one in the hotel complex. It is much cheaper than outside offers (outside baths will con you into paying for the things they use for the massages/treatments whereas the price they give you in the hotel one is actually all inclusive). The guy 'Ali' who runs it is also a lovely, knowledgeable man. He will do everything he can to get you to give the Turkish bath a go (come over and chat with you within the hotel grounds) and some people do get annoyed with it but please don't be. He genuinely wants everyone to experience one and it is true what he says- if you have the treatment at the start of your holiday then your tan will be MUCH better. If you really don't want one then be firm and straight with him.
Surrounding area- The closest beach is not great. Its sweet and conveniant but the sand is pebble-sand so not ideal. I highly recommend you venture 15 minutes up the road to Icmeler. BEAUTIFUL. The beach is dramatically bigger and dramatically more beautiful. Go there otherwise you will have missed out.
*POP IN- Lounge and bar. I know people always recommend certain places in reviews and people don't tend to take much notice (or they forget) but if you go to the Pineta (or other hotels nearby) then you MUST visit Pop in. If it wasn't for the accommodating and friendly staff there then our holiday would have been a lot less fun and exciting. The food is EXCELLENT. I specifically recommend the Mushroom Fillet steak- it is the best bit of steak I have ever eaten and probably ever will eat. To be honest, everything we had on the menu was beautiful, so nothing you pick will be disappointing. The Chef is a genius. Also the 'Pop in special' cocktail is lovely. We were all inclusive but chose to spend almost every night here to eat dinner because we honestly couldn't get enough of the food and atmosphere.
The prices are unbeatable- we were having a 3 course meal for £8 (24 TL)! The cocktails are also amazing value for money- 2 cocktails for 10TL (£2 each).
As I said, the staff are brilliant. So much so that we are going back to see them again next month for more steak and banter!
My advice overall is- go to the Pineta, ask for a newer room, go and try some food at Pop in, see Icmeler beach front & visit bar street if you like livelyness and clubbing. That way I assure you that your holiday will be great.
Enjoy your holiday.

returned yesterday from a 2 week holiday 21/05/2011. the hotel was kept really clean - staff so helpful and friendly. Great amenities. Make sure you have a massage and sauna - feels great. Husband looked so good after a visit to the barbers - shave, hair cut, eyebrows, ears. My hair looked great too. Entertainment staff worked hard, but evening was rather quiet if you didn't want to go clubbing with the fit ones. Cannot fault the restaurant staff who work long and hard, but always have a smile. For us meat-eaters menu is limited, but you certainly won't starve. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and food is very cheap. Only 5min from a lovely seafront. Go ahead - enjoy yourselves.
