After reading many reviews prior to...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Mrs L VALLANCE

After reading many reviews prior to our holiday I called Thomas cook and told them I was unhappy about the hotel because of the reviews. They told me to ignore the reviews and that it was a fine place to stay.
We arrived at the club Pineta hotel at 7.30am. Good first impression the guys ran out to help us with out cases of the coach. On arrival the hotel looked ok, have to give it a chance. The scruffy receptionist ( males) just stood chatting away ignoring we were there. I spoke to them asking for our reservations. Was told rooms weren't ready and to go in for breakfast then they would be ready. Went for a breakfast, it looked like slop!
Enquired several times about rooms, come about 10am was getting a little miffed. Had not had any sleep that night and our rooms should of been ready the day before they were booked and paid for. Our rep had arrived so I complained to her that we were still waiting on a room. She asked me to wait and would come back to us.
I sat in the foyer waiting patiently and observed and listened in on complaint following complaint about rooms, they were disgustingly dirty and falling apart - blood in beds, poop on towels, dirt on wall .... it was endless. That poor rep .... I have no idea how she coped. The complaints were endless.
We decided we didn't want to stay at this hotel, people were telling us not to stay and I was actually beginning to get a little upset at the thought we would be staying in this pit! I eventually told the rep I did not want to stay at the pineta and asked that she would put us in an apartment somewhere and we would sort outselves out. She understood our concerns and went of to see what she could do for us.
The out come was, that morning there were 10 families who has not been given rooms, apparantly they had double booked and luckily for us we were all upgraded to a 5 star hotel which was just lovely!
I asked the rep why thomas cook use this hotel, it was horrendous, she told me that pineta club owes thomas cook too much money and if they were to pull out then they would not get that money......sadly we suffer because of this.
Please heed my warning...DO NOT BOOK CLUB PINETA..........

I was really worried about going to...
6 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr P Gibson

I was really worried about going to this hotel after reading everyones comments, but when I got there I was quite surprised. I only paid £230 for a week for two at this hotel, which is nothing for a holiday, so you definatley get what you pay for. We didnt eat the food, because it is horrible, and we didnt even drink alcohol at the hotel, but we sure drank our fair share of juice during the day. There is a rule about saving sunbeds, which is ofcourse ignored.... but there is a great little guy who will throw the towels on the floor and give you a sunbed if you cant find one. We ate out everynight while there costing us about £30 for a meal for two, drinks can range from £1.50 for a pint to £7 for a cocktail. You can get a bus to bar street from the bottom of the road for 75p each, which is very cheap!
The hotel was cheap and all we wanted was a bed to sleep in and somewhere to sunbathe during the day...... and thats what we got!
The transfer took 4 hours to and from Dalaman, we never got a fax about a pick up time from them either.... and then to top it off, my flight home was cancelled cos they said I never used my outbound flight.... which was a lie I had my ticket stub! I had to argue my case to get on the flight and not end up like Tom Hanks from Terminal. This was all an experience that I managed to laugh off!
I want to offer one bit of advice, read all the comments, expect the worse and you will be pretty surprised with the hotel!

Sep 2008, Mrs M Fox

What can i say but cancell your holiday! I had read up the comments before i went to this hotel and i didnt believe that what people put was true, but believe me it is!!!!!!!!! We had booked this holiday a year in advance and when we got there my husband and i and our two children was put in an attic room where you banged your head! The boys had a room down the corridor and there shower was broken. The food well get used to plenty of chicken and frankfurt sausages because thats what you get every day!! The restaurant was filthy! The table clothes hadent been changed from the day before. You had to find your own cutelry. There isnt any aircon and the que is a mile long! Six familys on my first day there asked for a transfer to another hotel! The entertainment WHAT ENTERTAINMENT! it was absoutly rubbish if you call it entertainment! Allinclusive it isnt you only get watered beer, vodca and it supposed to be gin and thats it! You had to pay for the pooltable and table tennis for £10 for half an hour. They had turkish weddings in the grounds in the evenings so if you were sunbathing on the grass then you are pushed off because they was setting up for the wedding! Set your alarm for 6am to get a sunbed! There was 5 reports of breakings in the rooms and mobile phones were stolen! please please think again about going to this hotel! I paid £2500 for this holiday and it was a waist of money. Only one good thing the pool is nice and thats all i can say and if you want to loose some weight then go there because believe me you will be put off the food by the end of the week.

My wife, myself and son (6yrs) first...
1 / 10
Aug 2008, Mr RD Giggs

My wife, myself and son (6yrs) first experience of Turkey. Arrived at Pineta Club wearily - red eyed. Long time travelling as rescheduled flt and transfer from Dalaman. We were there at 07.30ish to find out they had no rooms available to give us. They put us into Block A room whilst they seeked a clean room!!. Small room that dated back to 1960-1970s with two single beds and shower/bathroom you would not believe me, at the shameful state it was in. General room was disgusting and hot. Aircon unit from 1970s blowing out hot air. We were there until 11.30. We did not leave cases alone as due break ins. Main bedroom door did not shut properly as it had been kicked in that many times. No balcony nor window to open. Hotel staff not bothered and did not assist until we saw rep. We got a better room and safe provide after several confrontations. Reception had marble and 1970s deco carpet. Aircon blowing cold air with main doors open all the time we were there for 2weeks. Fire doors propped open on all floors. On our floor block A 2nd floor, no fire hoses attached to main water supply and one without hose on reel. We were happy to see fire extinguishers... Were they filled?? General cleanliness was nor existant. In the first week we were there x4 broken legs around pools as slippery floor tiles around pool and walk ways. Wear sandals, you have been warned... General pools generally clean. Mosque 100yds from hotel called out x5 times a day. Not good at 05.30 in am..... Food and watered down drinks disgusting for all inclusive hotel. Chicken with every evening meal. All combinations you can think of. Food offered at 19.00 until 21.00. People were lining up before this. We later saw why.It was more like a quere for christmas/new year sales after 20.00..... Dirty plates, cutlery and table cloths that never got changed. Staff looked at you like you were they're problem. Eat at Dianne's if poss very friendly and will tell you more about Pineta Club. This hotel has four star rating, but the Turks know it, as a 2 Star. It changed hands 2007. They even know about hotel in icelmer 10mins bus ride on dolmush 2turkish lire. Lunch between 2pm and 4pm at the Garden Park is best to fill up on burgers, hot dogs salad and pasta. Dirty plates though and feet sticking to floors in here and restaurant and constant smell around drinks bar in Garden Park from WC's down stairs. It was disgusting. In between times you learnt moves and words to club songs during daytime. They do have Turkish and Muslim Weddings on site around Garden park starting at 7pm until early hours and this does not go good with evening entertainment music. You are recommended to take ear plugs if you need early night for trips and flts etc. These weddings happen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No guests of Pineta are allowed in the area of wedding function or tables they setup. When booking tours do these on Marmaris high streets. Alot cheaper than hotel rep prices. They will tell you its a good deal (you pay more.....). Do not get over excited on Thursdays Market outside hotel. Sellers rude and very aggressive if you dont look or buy their items. Learn to say seemtargit. It does work... ([--]). Icelmer very cheap and more friendly than Marmaris and you can get better deals for gifts and personal gifts. Dont give money to guy offering sunbeds or umbrellas. We learnt that he uses his own towels to put on sunbeds in early hours and during day. You ask for sunbed? He gains one and then looks for 3lire or 5lire. These are free but not enough of them.......Please,please dont waste time in re-booking or cancel and have a better stay in hotels in area.

You get what you pay for but overall can`t complain- 3 kids enjoyed it and providing you get room in c block its good value. Food basic- lunch probably better than dinner and snack food during afternoon ok. More disappointed with Marmaris, bit too commercial for us and quite expensive although trips such as beach safari and boat trip booked independently were good fun. Rep , Erin was excellent and if you give her a chance to sort out problems its a good value holiday.

First of all, everyone’s experience...
3 / 10
Aug 2008, Mr J Gill

First of all, everyone’s experience is different, some people are saying don’t listen to the bad reviews because they thought it was great. These people need to realise that there are 501 rooms and 3 different blocks. Block A is 16 years old and block C 5 years old. These people (I’m sure) did not stay in every room in the hotel. Therefore they can't say everyone is talking rubbish about stuff not working. They may have been fortunate enough to be place straight into the newer C block. Also some people only paid £280 and they may have felt different if they had paid £550 per person for 1 week in 4 Start hotel.
The day we arrived were put in the oldest block (A Block). The room was a VERY small and very dirty attic room with a sloping roof. There were areas of the room where even my girlfriend could not stand up straight and my girlfriend is only 5ft 5". There was a wardrobe door missing, the wooden panel on the wall above the beds was falling off, the wooden frame around the door was coming away from the wall so anyone could easily push the door open with a lit bit of force. The furniture was falling apart the bathroom was extremely small, the carpet, walls, sinks and taps were filthy, the light in the corridor was not working and there was pencil written on the door that they had not bothered to clean off.
The main beams over the stairs in block A are dangerously low, i had to duck under them and i am only 5ft 8" tall.
After the first night we were moved to the newer C block and the room was much better but far from 4 Star. The main door and the balcony door were damaged so you had to slam the doors to shut them otherwise they simply got caught on the frame and would not shut. The light in the bathroom and the main room worked intermittently.
We put our dirty bath towels in the centre of the bathroom floor so they would be changed because they were covered in sand dust but the cleaner simply folded them up and put them back on the rack. They even had the cheek to turn the bath matt over so it looked clean but it was filthy on the other side.
Some families were given a room the same as ours for 4 people sometimes with a mattress on the floor. Others had a double bed and a sofa bed for 4 people with a partition curtain on rails to make it a family room. Not much good if your kids are a 15 and 16 year old brother and sister.
I expected the beer to be watered down but it was literally like water and tasted of little to nothing.
We had to queue every time we wanted food or drink and there were not enough sun beds so you had to pay the grounds man to get you one. If you did not pay him he would give your sun beds, table and parasol to someone else when you were in the pool and take your towel to reception (This happened to us and many others).
The food was shocking and was only ever warm at best. There was never any room to sit down. Not nice to queue for 20mins to get your food in an room full of 100+ people in temperatures of 45 degrees and no air condition.
I have to say it was extremely busy during our stay there and this may have made things worse but hen you pay for 4 star you expect 4 star.
If you are thinking of going here i would recomend you go somewhere else as the risk of getting a bad room and bad food are too great!
The area i have to say is good, there are some nice bars around that do good food and entertainment + the staff are excellent. Try the Diana bar, emporium and no name fun pub. The beaches in the neighbouring resorts are also very good. Pay for a sun bed and it is yours all day no mater how long you are away. They will bring food and drink to your side at your request. The 24 hour kebab places also do excelent kebebs.
And if you are in Marmaris go to the 'Armutalan Turkish Bath' complex and pay for the bath and oil massage, i give it a 10/10

Having read all reviews b4 i went was...
3 / 10
Aug 2008, Mrs D Dodd

Having read all reviews b4 i went was really unsure, well this was a shambles from the minute we got there. This should be operating as a 1 star wreck.
The rooms are dirty, showers leak all over floor, plug sockets are hanging out or not working.
The lift is dirty, smelly amd needs renovation infact we didn't use it we walked up the stairs all holiday.
The restaurant is filthy flies all over the food, the highchairs are from Butlins 1950 style all metal with chipped paint, DONT PUT YOUR BABY IN IT. Food is bland boring and repeats everyday scraps they call chips, disgusting meat that gives you the [-], turkry sytye pizza, boiled eggs the list is endless.
The staff are rude in restaurant they dont clean the tables ready for another family to sit down and you ave the get your own knive an folk, they stand around talking about the pretty english girls they degrade the english females.
The bar staff are the worst they say drink and what, how rude is that. Entertainment is the worst i have ever seen. I could go on for ever so please dont go to this hotel needs knocking down, speaking to Turkish people on holiday there they was a shamed to be Turkish because of the state of the place.
I am making a compliant to Thomas Cook about this place, please believe all the reviews.
Only good thing is the outdoor swimming pools nice and clean but beware very slippery i saw 1 child be knocked out from falling and a man had to go to hospital to have head stitched due to falling. The indoor pool stinks of pooh. Never would i go there again. STAY AWAY!

I have stayed in Turkey all...
1 / 10
Aug 2008, Miss Y Robinson

I have stayed in Turkey all inclusive 7 times this was my 3rd time in Marmaris and I have to say this is the worst hotel I have stayed in nowhere near a 4 star, it never operated at this level. From getting to the hotel we were made to find our rooms ourselves which did not go in number order, once in the room my partner could not stand up as the ceilings sloped so low he had to crouch to walk around the room. The rooms were small with 2 single beds cramped in which also made it hard to get onto the balcony. When going out onto the balcony the handle fell off which meant we could not shut the door and with it being quite windy the door flew open and shut. The air conditioning was turned on by the bell boy and we were unable to turn it back off as it made a very loud noise and with the door not shutting it was not a good nights sleep. The bathroom flooded when you tried to have a shower as the door did not shut properly either and was hanging off. It took 24 hours for me to get the room changed and when we were moved behind the curtain there was vomit which made the room smelt as we had the doors shut when we went out. We were given 1 towel between us which wasnt changed.
The dining arrangements were terrible for the amount of guests they allow to stay at the hotel, it did not accomadate for half of the holiday makers. You have to que for up to and over half an hour sometimes to get your meal, once you are there the food did not look very good before you tried it the only thing that looked nice was the desserts which you did not have to que for either. So once you have chose your food you have the hard task of finding a table, as I said before they do not accomadate for the amount of guests they have staying in the hotel.
Upon coming to the end of the holiday I needed to know the transfer details from the hotel to the airport. I asked a number of staff behind reception several times what my pick up time was and all I got was it should be on the board which said "ask at reception for transfer details". I then asked if I could phone the rep and they said come back in 20 minutes so I did so and I was then told the office had shut and I was not able to contact them. So early hours of the morning of which we were getting picked up I asked once again only to be told again that they had not yet received the fax. I asked to ring the rep, who said recpetion should have it. The rep was very helpful however; and as soon as she got to the hotel rang the room and told me the transfer time and also that reception had the fax all along and had done so for the past 2 days.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, my mam and dad stayed at the sister hotel pineta park deluxe and said its well worth the money.

This hotel is falling apart..... i...

Aug 2008, Miss J Bawden

This hotel is falling apart..... i have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is by far the worst i have ever seen, the food is discusting, the bar staff are no older than 14 years old, there were room break ins everyday (the reception staff wouldnt ring police, wonder why!)
all inclusive is not all inclusive at all, drinks are from 10am til 10pm and you can have cheap vodka, gin or there lager (you only find out these things whn you get there).
they state they have a mini bar in the rooms, but its actually a 1970's fridge and it has nothing at all in it.
we didnt even have a room when we arrived, nor did anybody else we spoke to, we and they were put in to a top floor room with no windows (like a cleaning cuboard with a bed in) til we complained and got a room the next day, this is not what we paid for! our ceiling fell down twice and so did the next doors. my friend got indecently assulted by a male member of staff and followed to her room, this was very scary. we were not happy at all. reception just dont care and dont want to know.
seriously, this hotel should be shut down, i really dont know why holiday companies are still sending people here. the place is falling apart and needs shutting down.
I read reveiws on this hotel before i went and some seemed ok and more not, but i thought it would be ok, sadly i was wrong, its awful, please take my word for it.

i have just returned from a hol at pineta club. the food is acceptable due to amount of nationalites staying there but alot of chicken. if you have a problem the thomas cook rep erin who i beleive has worked ther 3 years is excellent! she will solve almost every problem you encounter just be nice to her. remember she is there to help and if anyone spoke to me they way i saw people talking to her i would not be as polite as she is! the only mistake i made was not booking my excursions with her i knew it was cheaper on the street but what a mistake we made my 10 year old fell on the boat trip i booked on the steer and broke his leg. my insurance wouldnt cover it which i was warned about by my rep and the excursion company were not interested! my bill was 1200 pound! you may save a fiver but it will cost you in the long run when they say they are insured it is a lie!!!
overall good hol except accident!

First time holiday in Turkey stayed...
1 / 10
Jul 2008, sabacer79

First time holiday in Turkey stayed all inclusive at the Pineta club, the area was lovely but the hotel was crap!!!, 3 things stand out. 1. Robbery was a daily occurence.2. The bathrooms were mouldy and doors rotten, the showers were broken( my first DIY job on day one) 3. Repetitive food. Chips,Pizza, chicken, Chips,Pizza,Chicken, and so on and on!!!!!. Did I say 3 things? not really, 4, sticky floors,5,poor staff, 6,1970`s chipboard furniture, 7,TV sits on a 1960`s so called mini bar but is an empty fridge. As for the resturant staff are leaning over while you are eating and you end up with thier hair in your food. the worst thing being you have to queue for no less than 20 mins every meal time this gets a bit waring after your first week. the pool had adults stool in it for 4 days of our holiday. i am that stressed on my return from this hotel which i saved for a year for that i need another week of work to get over it.This hotel needs to be shut down
Turkey is a nice place there are many good trips to go on, we highly reccommend the european sea sports trip, the markets are good fun if you dont mind hassle.
Whatever you do our advice is never ever ever stay at the hotel Pineta club or it`s sister hotel.
