A hotel with a special character , fantastic location & very friendly staff

We stayed here at the first of March 2010.Indiana is decorated in beautiful traditional style, with marbled floor and comfortable Sofas in a cozy atmosphere for excellent value for the money. The room was very clean and the furniture was modern. Location is fantastic just 10 minutes from the famous Egyptian museum and 1 minute from the Nile. The staff is extremely accommodating
We really enjoyed our stay at Indiana hotel.

A Wonderful Hotel in Cairo
8 / 10
Mar 2010, Crystal

Although we only spent one night at the hotel we had the most incredible experience in Cairo ever and it was all due to the wonderful people at the Indiana Hotel. From the moment I walked into the lobby we knew that Indiana is a gem. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, the beds comfortable and the showers hot. The staff was all polite and friendly. The Breakfast was excellent. One of the features of the hotel is the outdoor rooftop terrace and the wonderful city views it affords. If we ever came back to Cairo we would definitely stay here again.

Definition of a Good Budget Hotel
8 / 10

I am really fair when writing this review, what defines a good 3 Star Budget Hotel?
My answer is: Big and clean room, clean bathroom with hot shower, nice breakfast and finally good service.
At Indiana Hotel I got all of this in addition to excellent location, a wonderful roof top café with really fabulous view of busy Cairo (take a look at the photo).
However, if you are looking for more, or looking for perfection, then you must pay for that…Right??
I totally recommend this hotel.

I have traveled throughout Egypt...
5 / 10
Aug 2006, Mrs A Youssef

I have traveled throughout Egypt staying in various hotels of varying star ratings I felt compelled to write a brief review of this hotel.
It is by far the worst hotel that I have stayed at in Egypt. The second day when they cleaned the room they left us one hand towel and it took four phone calls to reception before someone finally came to change it. The rooms are supposed to have a mini bar where you can store your own drinks, the fridge was essential for me as I had medication that needed to be refrigerated. Ours didn't work and despite asking several times for a replacement fridge (which they said they could easily swap with one from an empty room) it never arrived.
We arrived at the hotel at 3am so decided to order breakfast in our room. Bearing in mind that it is a budget hotel we didn't expect much. We were brought cold fuul, warm tea, a bread roll and jam with no knife and a couple of rancid felafel. The tray it was on was filthy and the waiter then had the cheek to stand there waiting for a tip. We were supposed to stay there for 5 nights but checked out after two nights. Very poor.
The only good thing about this hotel is the roof terrace where you can have drinks and a snack with nice views of the Cairo tower. There are other far better budget hotels in the area in Dokki so would suggest that you give this one a miss.
I am married to an Egyptian so am more forgiving than most when I stay in a bad hotel in Egypt, this was awful.

This accommodation was superb value...

This accommodation was superb value for a budget hotel in Cairo. I was using it as one base in Cairo as i toured around Egypt. The service was friendly and the staff had a good sense of humour.
Overall standard of hotel was great if you need somewhere to stay for a night or two while experiencing the hustle and bustle of Cairo!
It is located in the Doqqi area of the city only 5 mins walk from the Nile. There are some American take away places to eat nearby (if that's you thing) as well as some good local supermarkets.
