fantastic holiday
from littlemissclark
me and my partner booked this holiday with first choice for a week in may and what can i say it was fantastic we arrived at the apartments at nearly 3am and staff wer running out to take our bags once checked in the guys took our bags upto our room which was very nice and clean we had a nice pool view we decided to go down and get a bottle of water and while we were there my partner had mentioned he was hungry so they came rushing out with the menu and offered to make us anything we wanted which was very nice. during our stay at palm gardens we ate in the apartments a few times (food was fab) but not that often we enjoyed being by the pool side during the day and we would have lunch there (pizza was fab made in the stone oven) so fancyd a wee change at night time when leavn the apartments u have to go past reception so a couple of times they came running out and quized us about why we wernt having dinner there but if you just say not tonight and that you will get some food later or a drink when u got back they were fine we found a very nice place to eat which is on the main strip called "pop in" staff were fab there and so was the food especially the steak was best one i had ever had defo worth a try! The apartments pool is very large compaired to alot of the pools in the other hotels which were tiny and palm gerdens pool is so private which was great and the apartments are only round the corner from the main strip to. the beach is about a 10-15minutes walk down by the canal which is lovely from there u can take the water taxi over to marmaris where there is a mcdonalds i found marmaris to be like another blackpool very tacky!!! while we were on holiday we did a few of the excursions which was great we booked a few with first choice rep which was a big mistake we did the trip to rhodes which was about £45pp and was told only to take passport didnt need to exchange money b4 going which was awful as we got there and they wouldnt except lira there was no change places open and if my partner didnt have his bank card we would have been stuck there all day (6am to 8pm) with no food or drink i complained and was promised our money back on our last day which never happened as we were on an other excursion that day and the rep made no call like she said she would. another one we did was the dalaman checkout £38pp which is mud baths then fancy hotel b4 flight home the fancy hotel had live plugs sockets hanging off the walls flys and holes everywhere, chipped floor tiles, dirty curtains etc was the pits so DO NOT book excursions with first choice the palm gardens rep sharon spent most of her time moaning about her life rather than telling us importants info! these excursions were good in there self it was booking them with first choice that was the issue but book ur excursions with eric he is just a walk up from the pop in and at half the price he was fab so helpful we did turkish bath which was £6 well worth it this is a must! and jeep safari this was the best excursion i have ever done was so much fun as long as you dont mind getting covered in mud from head to toe haha and this only cost £12 and that was a freshly made lunch encluded (chicken, omlette or fish) This resort is fantastic for all you fake handbags range'n from prada to radley and really good for jeans/shorts and t-shirts/jumpers which are lacoste, fred perry, henleys, g-star and much more you need to haggle for a good price they expect this tho and there are some great buys to be had my partner got 4pairs of jeans g-star and armani ones which he paid less than £100 for the lot ur t-shirts expect to pay a fiver or tenner each and they are all really well made we had fun when it came to the shopping you get a better buy if you pay in english tho. This holiday really was fab apart from the rep there was no other issues the staff at palm gardens were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you we didnt have to go and order drinks at anytime while beside the pool you got to chill out and get waited on hand and foot its nice to give them a wee tip they really do appreciate it so much as they dont get much wages they also enjoy a wee chat with you as well they make you feel at home there i even got to use there computer and surf the internet for free without any hassle, they put the water slides on for us anytime we wanted which was good fun we were never off them that was once our bodys got used to the "freezing" cold pool water. we also tryd the bbq night at the apartments which had a free breakfast included next morning which we got a few mornings later as we were on an excursion the next morning but this was no probs the night was good the food was lovely entertainment was a belly dancer who had my partner up doing it was a great laugh but she does except a tip and dances in your face till you put one in her top then there was the break dancers who wer great defo worth seeing and didnt come round for tip although they deserved it. overall i would go back here again without a doubt i really enjoyed myself just wish i had went for two weeks now a good tip to tell you is to take lots of english notes with you and just enuf turkish money for food and drink as you get better value for money. Best Self catering we have ever been on
from Miche51
These low rise apartments were great, they were very clean, and it had the largest pool we saw in icmeler. We spent most of our days by the pool relaxing as best you can with 2 small children. Mainly because our 4 year old loved the water slides even our 20 month old loved them. The baby pool was good however would obviously recommend some floatation device which can be brought in any of the nearby shops cheaply. The owner and staff were great, really good with the children. The food in the restaurant was lovely and very competitively priced to the ones in resort that we went to, so definetely worth eating in. The Turkish night was good with tukish dancers and belly dancers. Couple of restaurants we went to were champagne bar, friends and we went to Venice a couple of times as they had a play area. At friends i would recommend the turkish Wok, it was really good. Generally food everywhere was of a high standard. The apartments were very spacious, and were cleaned daily. The maids even cleaned the windows on the outside by sitting on the window ledges! Even on the top floor! The only thing is we needed to bath the children and there was no bath plugs, we improvised by using the lid off a tube of cream. They do provide large plastic bowls for washing dishes or clothes. The location of the apartments was perfect. It was just off the main street so you could access everything in 2 mins but at the same time they were very private as you did not have people walking past. Also at night time it was very quiet. Also the beach was maximum 10 mins walk. The beach is shingle so if you want sand don't come to this resort. Our 4 year was not put off making castles though. We went on the taxi boat to marmaris so the children could get a ride on a boat without having to spend all day on a boat trip, they absolutely loved it recommend this way to marmaris rather than the dolmus. Only thing is it takes longer but well worth it. We have already recommended these apartments to friends, and normally we would never go back to the same resort twice as there is so much of the world to see but we have said this is somewhere we would definetely come back to!
If you want freindly, best place to stay
from June25
We have just arrived back from the Palm Gradens, we have been to Turkey several times but this has to be one of the freindliest apartments we have stayed in, we were always well looked after by Ali and his team, Mickey and Messi, the only downside was we had to always justify why we was going out to eat at night instead of staying in apartments. The rooms were very clean but you do have to supply your own toilet paper. If you have young children the staff were very good. Only a short walk to nightlife plenty of choice for bars and places to eat.
Fantastic Holiday - Fabulous Apartments!!
from j1llybean2
I have just returned from Icmeler after 2 weeks stay at Palm Gardens with my daughter and honestly cannot fault it in any way (other than a lift would have been handy - climbing two lots of stairs in the heat is really hard work!) The apartments are very clean and towels are changed daily- the three girls that clean the rooms are very pleasant and leave the towels and bed covers folded in different patterns every day! We did quite a lot of self catering and were never pressured to eat at the apartments although we did go to 2 BBQ's there which included free breakfast the next morning. I even got a tour of the kitchen and it is spotless! We had our last meal there too and it was excellent much, much better than the posh Coco Beach Restaurant on the sea front which was the only other place we dined out - this is not recommended at all - the food was poor and we were 'accidently' overcharged too!! The staff at Palm Gardens are all very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to remember your names, preferences etc. The two waiters that the previous reviewer must of been talking about are Micki and his cousin Messi (that what we called him can't remember his real name I'm sorry). We found them both to be very friendly and funny too. Yes they would have liked us to eat at the apartments, mostly because they enjoyed the company of the guests and the more people there, the better the atmosphere - that is their job after all but there was no pressure at all, I personally think it would be a good idea for the apartments to offer half board anyway to encourage people to stay in a bit more and provide a bit more entertainment. The pool area is excellent, very private and clean with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The water slides are turned on twice a day and even I managed to brave them a few times. All the staff are excellent with children and adults alike. There was always a smile for you at 8 o'clock in the morning even though they had worked until 2 a.m the previous night - you wouldn't get that from a lot of people in UK. I would definately go back to Palm Beach Apartments - in fact its the only apartments I would go to in Icmeler - they're clean, quiet and just round the corner from more lively bars and restaurants.
Great place - little disappointing : (
from Mel65London
We arrived pretty late, was warmly greeted and our bags were carried to our room. The room was very clean and spacious - overlooking the pool with ample space on our balcony. Icmeler a beautiful place, locals very warm and welcoming. We're beach lovers so was a bit of a trek on a daily basis for us. For future visits we'llbe looking at accommodation nearer the beach. We really didn't like the pressure placed upon us by a couple (and ONLY a couple) of the waiters at Palm Garden - we heard from them that if we did not eat there they would not get paid (must say when we did eat there- food was great) sad stories of their lives etc - really did not want to hear that - we work hard for our holiday and holiday to escape everyday life and did not want to feel obligated considering we were staying at self catering apartments - they even asked us 'why are you offending us?' 'where are you going' 'where have you been' 'we can smell drink on you' to mention a just a few!! Ali,his brother Sebastion, young Ali, Sep and not to mention the ever entertaining Hakimo were great, friendly - just felt really awkward and difficult at times and that disappointed us...especially that they thought we were offending them - we never would! just wanted to go out and explore the great Icmeler - hence the self catering bit! On a more positive note you must eat at Aysima and the Majestic - wonderful and great value Would recommend this hotel - though those couple of waiters need addressing!
what a great place
from powellfamily
We have just come back from the Palm Garden apartments and would like to say "what a great place" the staff and management are so friendly and helpfull. When we arrived at about 1.30am they took our bags to the room for us which was much appreciated by 3 weary travellers. Our son had a birthday while we were there and Ali arranged for a cake and all the staff sang happy birthday, they made him feel very special. We had a studio room which was clean and more than big enough, and well equiped. The pool and slides were very clean and really good fun, my son spent a great deal of time in the water and would have been happy not to have left the appartmets at all for most of the days. Evening entertainment was very good especially the break dancers. Jay jay, Ali, Adam and Eric went out of their way to come over and talk to you and make you feel welcome. The food at the apartments is very good and reasonably priced, but if you do want to venture out make sure you go to Valentino 23 bar just across the road from the Elvis bar, Nory and the boys will make you feel very welcome and the food there is great, the sunday roast is out of this world, All in all this is a brilliant family holiday .
Loved the Palm Garden
from jonclapham
We booked this apartment direct with First Choice. The apartments were fantastic! We will definitely be going back! These apartments are set just outside of the action and so are perfect for couples, families or anyone who wants to be only walking distance from the nightlife. However, being minutes away from the action, these apartments are secluded from any noise which may result in being in the middle of the nightlife. Equally, hotels in the centre of Icemeler suffer from having none existent or tiny pools, where as the Palm Garden has an enormous pool complete with water slides to keep the kids entertained. The Palm Garden Apartments are set at the foot of the mountains ensuring a secluded quiet holiday in scenic surroundings, if that is your desire. But within a five minutes walk you can be in the middle of the nightlife. The staff at Palm Gardens could not be more friendly or helpful. My five year old son broke his glasses half way through the holiday and the entire staff, including the owner, Ali, spent hours with a tool kit repairing the set and would not allow me to leave until they successfully repaired the glasses. My mother-in-law, who was staying in another hotel, ended up in hospital because of an accident at her hotel and Ali insisted on regularly driving us to the hospital in his luxury minibus completely free of charge, despite the hospital being several miles away. By the time we left the staff were like an extended family and my five year old spent more time with them than me! The apartment complex had regular entertainment nights and really made everyone, especially the kids feel welcome. We regularly ate and drank at the Palm Garden and would say this was of a good standard and cost no more than elsewhere. At under two pounds a pint it was a breath of fresh air! The English breakfast was fantastic at two pounds. I have holidayed in Turkey on several occasions before and have always been disgusted by the health and safety standards of the accommodation, despite staying in 5* hotels. As an health and safety professional, I can confirm the Palm Garden meets all UK health and safety regulations and is by far the safest accommodation I have resided in Turkey. To the rear of the apartments you could see bananas and chillies growing and fantastic views of the mountain terrain. These apartments are faultless, modern, comfortable and quiet. I really cannot think of a bad word to say about this place. I would recommend it to everyone!
just fab

we stayed here for two weeks in july, and we could not have been better looked after.Ali the boss was a true gent gave us lifts to marmaris let us taste his own grown fruits ( some id never heard of but whatever they were , were really tasty. All the staff were kind and friendly especially jey jey and mikey. the rooms were huge ,nice clean bed linen and comfy beds. maids in every day. you must eat here as the food is probably better than what you will get at most restaurants in icmeler. (try the garlic mushroom starter). For the best sunday lunch try the three bells just near tansas, as good as ya get at home. Go and enjoy and tell all the lads alan and louise said hi see you in october.
Palm Garden As I see it
from A TripAdvisor Member
Arrived at the Hotel at 3 in the morning and was directed to our apartment, was very surprised on how roomy it was with all the facilities needed.compared to other 3/4 star hotels/apartments I have stayed in, in Icmeler this was by far the best. The complex is family orientated with ample sunbeds around the largish pool and paddlingpool for the kids. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food in their "eating area" is first class (we only ate there once but it was really good). plus points: location, just outside the main shopping area, set beside the large hills at the rear so no noisey sleepless nights. downsides: 1. no lift to upper floor for disabled (didnt apply to us) 2. To access toilets from the pool, children had to cross the bar/reception area which was very slippery when feet are wet (we saw one young girl come a cropper) 3. For some reason the bedside light "flashed" for a split second every so often when switched off (at first making me believe my eyes were playing tricks) and on last day children were complaining of getting "electric shocks" when using the pool slide (strange!) Circumstantial or Turkish electrical wiring? 4. The top bed sheet is just a table cloth sized piece of material and dosnt cover two people so if you dont want to fight take a sheet with you, and toilet rolls have to be bought by you after the first one is used up so dont be caught short (as we were) Conclusion: If you are not disabled, do not want to run to the toilet and enjoy the occasional shock, this is a great place to enjoy a good holiday in Icmeler. That is not sarcasm but fact! (you have to accept work quality differences between uk and turkey) I would have no problems with returning to this complex (if they will have me back after this) first rate holiday Recommend you try the Jeep safari into the mountains, but be prepared to get very wet!

We went to the Palm Garden Apartments in Icmeler for two weeks and it was fantastic, could not rate it any higher. Staff were great and friendly - rooms were good - food was great - pool was great with the slides and got the sun all day! The kids loved it, they were never out the pool. Close to Main Street and beach only a 5 minute walk away. Would definitely stay there again.
me and my wife have been to icemeler 8 times we love it, the palm garden appart is one of the best we have been to. all holiday destinations want your money, that is what they do, and as far as turkish men been rude, if so, be rude back and ask or tell them to stop it, it... more
