NO NO NO ! RUDE STAFF WHO HAVE NO RESPECT FOR WOMAN
1 / 10
Mar 2012, katie

i went to these apartments with myself 2 kids and my mate and her 3 kids .......
if u dont spend here dont expect the staff to talk to you at all , and they will blank the kids ,
you are constantly hasseled to go to the theme nights , we said we would think about the bbq night , and aparently on the night of the bbq we were on the list! we decided to go out for the night (to walk to the main strip of pubs etc you have to walk down a unlit path ) one of the staff members followed us and jumped out on us and started shouting abuse and getting in our faces! saying we booked the bbq and food is ordered in etc, in the end we said we would go then as we feel we have no choice he then started hurling more abuse and stormed of . when we arrived back at night we decided to have a drink in the bar , where the manager came over and had a go about the bbq night etc in front of other holiday makers , i had to stand my ground and tell them we did not even say we were going ! and we got called liuer the lot , and get this aparently women are second class and we should have been at home in the kitchen not on holiday !!!! anyway i dont think the expected two single girls to stand their ground and tell it how it is :-) and the man who shouted abuse at us etc was MADE to apologise , but that is not the point!
the water slides were never on and when u said something about it we were told later later.! .
there was never any hot water, and when u said something all the manager said was not my problem ( well yes actually it is , its your hotel and i am paying to stay here )
the staff are rude and aragant, and spend time with the families who spend lots of money there ,
my list is endless with what i can say about this hotel but please please do not go here do not waste your money.
i have been on many holidays and i have never ever wrote a bad review so that must tell you something .....
stay clear of this place please

me and my wife have been to icemeler 8 times we love it, the palm garden appart is one of the best we have been to. all holiday destinations want your money, that is what they do, and as far as turkish men been rude, if so, be rude back and ask or tell them to stop it, it works both ways they want your money and you want a good holiday, so dont be affraid to tell them of any problems. i have already booked to return to palm gardens so it cant be that bad or i would not return ,i am sure we both will enjoy it again icemeler is not everyones cup of tea but dont knock it till you try it

Iv been to Palm Gardens twice now and have already booked to go back again in july. Palm Garden is an amazing place to stay.
Personally i think some others are too picky and just want to find fault!!
The apartments are lovely and are always cleaned daily, and towels changed every other day. They are cleaned by the 3 sisters and they are always friendly and have a smile for you. The apartments overlook a beautiful view of the mountains and the other side of the apartments over look the gardens, where the staff rear their own chickens and grow their own friut such as pomegranites, grapes, oranges and olives. They are situated in a very convenient place, just set back from the main road, which is only a 2 minute walk away, and is far enough away so there is no noise disturbance from the clubs and bars.
The 2 owners Ali and Sebastien are extremely friendly and are happy to help with any problems or queries. Ali even took me to the dentist when i had a problem and took me and my mum to the best fruit and veg stall he knew of :) Sebastien doesnt speak the best english but is always keen to join in and have a laugh and dance. All the other guys are fab aswell, especially Yoshi he is lots of fun and is always up for a laugh, Ozzy, Ryan, Sasha and the others are great too.
We never had any problems going out in the evening, they always gave us a wave and said "see you later"
The pool is brilliant aswell, always clean and the pool area cleaned at night, although the slide times arent always adhered to, they are put on twice a day for the amount of time they say.
The entertainment at night is great too, they always include everybody and try and get some people up to have a dance. There are the turkish themed nights with break dancers and belly dancers and mini michael jackson and theres kareoke some nights where even the staff join in.
I cannot fault these apartments and the staff at all, and would definetely reccommend to anybody that asks about staying in Turkey. They certainly make your holiday!! :)

No Hot Water
3 / 10
Oct 2010, polly-pocket

The room was perfect and we had a lovely view from the balacony. However, there was never any hot water for a shower morning or evenings and when we asked the owner i was told it would be looked into, we were there 10 nights and having chased them up twice nothing was ever done about it.
The owner Ali was most unfriednly towards us and most unhelpful when asking for help to make a reservation at a restaurant because we wasn't eating in his diner. In the evenings there was NO atmosphere at all at Palm Gardens therefore after one night we decided to eat out for the rest of our stay.
The staff were at times rude and not friednly - Turkish men are very sleazy!

the hotel was lovely, the room was clean but our balcony was tiny with a wall 6ft tall and a view of a mountain. the staff are friendly but some in particular were over friendly and wouldnt take no for an answer (messi and sasha in particular!!!) we were constantly pestered by these 2 to meet them after they finished work. they pestered us all day by the pool too. the swimming pool was great but the slide times were not adhered to but still excellent having the slides. be careful at the bar as had to query our bill a few times but they were happy to correct it. we would definately go back again but well prepared for how to handle the staff!

Arrived at Palm Gardens met by friendly staff and shown to apartment. Our apartment had a balcony but with no view just a concrete wall. So we asked reception if we could be moved, they said they would look into moving us. Three days later still no move and we were aware that apartments with better balconies were empty. So we asked at reception again. Fobbed off that these were being held for guests that were arriving in the next week or so. Both my wife and I like to eat out and enjoy the culture but it became apparent that if we had spent £50 a night in the bar they would have had no trouble in arranging a move. On the last day we were chatting to some of the other guests that had only just arrived, we were advising them of the sights and where to visit in Icmeler when one of the staff butted in telling me not to tell people where to go and accused me of taking payments from other establishments. Not very good.

Brilliant Holiday

Our first time in Turkey, and i dont think you could find a better place to spend it than Palm Gardens. We arrived early in the morning, and the owner Sebastian stayed up to greet us and cases taken to our room. We arrived just after the season has started, so on our first couple of days it was pretty dead.
Apartments - They have so many top notch facilities. The pool was huge, with two massive slides. The apartments are small and comfy, maids clean them daily. Nice big bar and restaurant, with a pool table and internet access right next to the bar.
Food - A hit and miss really. Some nights lovely, others not. We had a leg of lamb one night, which had to be one of the best meals we have ever eaten. Beware with the Fry Ups though, throughout turkey, you get a small portion of beans, half a sausage, a small piece of bacon and they fill the rest up with 2 huge eggs, which is a cheap way of filling up the plate. Alot of the dishes we had like the Shepard's Pie, Sunday Dinner came in very small portions, we could eat another 3 after one. Your best sticking to the simple meals like Pizza, Omelette ect if you want to be filled up.
Entertainment - Very good, even when there wasnt a themed night the staff were up dancing and the karaoke was always on. Wednesday nights is the breakdancers and Michael Jackson, and Saturday nights you have the Belly Dancer and Turkish dancers. You get about 2 hours none stop entertainment on a Saturday night, may be a little much for some people as you constantly get asked to dance by the dancers and the staff, but eh, thats what an holiday is all about.
Staff - The best thing about our entire holiday if im honest. You honestly feel like part of the family by the end of the holiday. There all different characters. The owners Ali and Seb are always up and around having a laugh. Sebastian is more laid back in the day, but came and sat with us nearly every night and had a drink till about 3 in the morning. The bar/restaurant staff were just everything you could wish for. Sasha is just a legend, always up and around acting silly and chatting to everyone, he loves kids. Ryans more laid back but is far from shy and always dancing, just like Yoshi. Ozzy i think is very quiet, but always polite and on hand. Little Ali probably speaks the best English there, and is very polite. Nazim or Kazim i think, the barman, is very cool and open. Always up for a sneaky joke or playing around. You'll have no problem with the staff, they work all day and night and throughout the 2 weeks i never seen them stop smiling or having a laugh. I heard a few people say they get angry with you if you dont eat there, we didn't have one problem. They politely greeted out of the apartments in the evenings when we went out for something to eat. But you'll end up knowing them that well you'll never feel any tension or hesitation in leaving or asking about something.
Another thing i should mention aswell is the bar tabs, its brilliant. You can buy anything you want at any time and just stick the bill on your room number, and at the end of the day or next morning pay the bill. It saves you carrying money around constantly after coming out of the pool or for the evening.
Icmeler itself - Mixed feelings if im honest, not loads to do for family's. The first day we had, we felt like going home because of the hassle of market people we got. Every single stall you walked past they would shout you with some silly patter and it just gets very stressful at first. The best thing to do is either ignore them or say No Thanks and keep walking. The town lacks entertainment bars of clubs, its mostly just restaurants. The beach is the best you'll find from that area of turkey. The market is okay, very good fakes just every stall sells the same stuff. You can take a boat trip down to Mamaras or Turunc which is a day out i guess. But overall yes, if your looking for loads of entertainment for family's its pretty limited.
Would i return? To the apartments yes, to Icmeler, No. We got to the point where towards the end of our stay the apartments offered the best night out. There's not enough in Icmeler to keep up alive for 14 days or maybe even 7, so you'll find the apartments are just as good to stay and chill for the day or night. No complaints about the weather, very hot everyday, and when sunbathing its lovely to look at the huge hills. The apartments are set right in-front of a massive lovely backdrop anyway. I think 10 days is about right for a place like Icmeler. 2 weeks is a little to much, which is what we went for.

Apr 2010, Holiday go getter!!

I have been all over the world and this resort was the most sour...
I went to palm gardens last year with my friend, It was a lovley area and really nice in the evenings. There was always plenty of things to do! When we first got there the first thing we did was turn on our air con, which I soon found out you had to pay for. And you couldnt have gone without it. The whole place was fabulous, although the down fall was the men. Fair enough on the street people spoke to you, it happened a lot, people were trying to sell you things. Lifes one big busniess.
You couldnt go anywhere without constantly being shouted at in the street to come look see buy touch there things, in the shops and bars.
But when you got back to your hotel after a long day in the sun, you didnt want the hotel staff going on at you as well!! Me and my friend , who is also a girl couldnt do anywhere without a stare or a comment. There was a couple of male staff who must have made it there ojbective to make our stays a nightmare. I was actually rather scared at one point and everytime we passed we would get the death stares!
The country and the weather was good. The food could have been better but it wasnt uneatable. Although my friend did get ill and had to fly home after four days. I was fine in the hotel alone as made friends with some Brits.
But i wouldnt go back to that hotel again becuase the stauff were unprofessional and just plain rude.
