Angsana Resort & Spa

Many of the things I want to say about Angsana Maldives have already been said by previous reviewers but they’re worth reiterating so here goes. This wonderful island resort is very small (maximum of 100 guests and 120 staff so I’m told) and incredibly relaxing. It is definitely not for someone who likes to party all night and I wouldn’t recommend coming alone unless you just want to chill out or need some solitude as it is definitely a ‘couples’ resort, though you do find the occasional family. We spent our honeymoon at Angsana and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place. The staff and servers were extemely friendly and helpful, remembering exactly what we liked and how we liked our food each day. Our villa (#6) was perfect - just secluded enough and right near one of the better snorkeling spots. We thought the food was very good, considering it was buffet-style. We staied for 10 nights. ! (and I would have staied for at least another week) Everything is perfect in Angsana. Staff is excellent, from the expats, to the Maldivians. Everybody is kind, always smiling and helpful. They all work so hard and they do their best to help you and make you holiday a perfect trip. Rooms are very nice, very well decorated, lights are giving the perfect atmosphere, and super clean. What a great resort! Small and lovely! Casual elegance and wonderful staff made our stay memorable. The food was simple and delicious. The reef had a lot to offer, beautiful sea life close to the shore. The spa was a delight, highly recommended. I would recommend the deluxe room with Jacuzzi and also a diner (just across Angsana) at the Banyan Tree resort for a perfect stay.

After reading through all the reviews on The Angsana Resort I did not know what to expect, so went along with an open mind as all travellers should. We stepped off the plane late at night from Singapore and even though it was 10pm, we were greeted with a smiling face and taken straight to our speedboat for the transfer to the resort. 25mins after getting through customs we were getting off the boat onto the island. I stayed with my wife for a week in Angsana on Mar 2006. General comments: This is not a 5 star hotel. I would rate it as a very good 4. Rooms are a little small and the food choice, of very good quality, is limited. Prices of the drinks tend to be high, and service is just a little above OK. The jacuzzi rooms, even if the difference on the price is small, aren't worth it. Limited activites and the sand on one side of the island is going away.... We stayed at The Angsana in February 2004 and had a fabulous time! I cannot recommend it enough. We've been to the Maldives 4 times now and this has been the best so far. If you've been to the Angsana and want something similar but fancy somewhere different, try Mirihi in the Ari Atoll.

My husband and I spent 11 days at Angsana from 11th - 23rd February for our Honeymoon and I must express how great our stay was. Our expectations were high as we thought originally that it may be slightly expensive, however, the hotel and staff were excellent. I would certainly recommend this hotel and will be sure to return next year.

To be honest writing a review was not something I was going to do, but thought it only right as I used these as a guide myself and couldnt help but note the previous review.Obviously everyone has spent their money and is entitled to their own opinion, so here are mine. I really think it is so difficult to find fair reviews for maldivian resorts. Because it is such a magical place people tend to overrate resorts after coming back from holiday. This place is a good example. Food is average, room is small. Staff are friendly but all maldivians are friendly anyway. All bungalows were buid so closely together. This is a resort for young honeymooner with not so big budget. If you are repeater to Maldives you will be disappointed.
