I did the Room 306 thing, and found it not too bad for the first two nights, I was stressed from U.K. City life and needed a quiet spacious room to chill. Travelling on my own with my daughter, I found the staff accommodating, and the safety element was there for two women on their own. The staff were very flexible, chatty and courteous towards a 'pernickity' customer like myself. Food was more traditional, but hey 'when in Rome', thats why we travel abroad, in order to experience the culture. The family run Hotels ambience was good enough to spend the occaisional day at the hotel happily on a sun lounger drinking Turkish Beer 'Efes' and cooling off in the pool. The Hotel is on the mountain and as a result there are no moskitos or flies, although the occaisional wasp (more mellow than the U.K. ones).
The walk to the beach was only about 7 mins, and okay for the moderately fit. The sea is incredible to swin in, with moderate swell and aqua blue, rivalled only by the Bahamas. The boat trips are a recommendation from the beach, for £20 Lira, all day visiting bays and beaches, swimming in sea caves. In fact the happiest experience I had was the sea cave, where all 24 of us from the boat were swimming and laughing together in the deep water( you had to be there to experience it), different nationalities and different languages.
On the promenade, and along to the end, over the bowlling club was a really good restaurant, reasonable, Turkish ambience, with excellent service (we had the calamari and Turkish Beer of course).
The sunset cruise was one to remember, dinner and dance Turkish style, with a swim in the moonlit waters at ten.
Throughout the whole holiday, my daughter and I felt totally safe, the locals were chatty with a great sense of humour, and I would recommend the Hotel and region.
The only downside was the visit to Butterfly beach where I was reminded of 'Cabin Fever', the movie, and the bog costs 2 Lira.
I would say that this hotel is excellent for honeymooners.

I would really not recommend this hotel. We arrived and were immediately told that our room "was not very good". We werent able to get the key so went down to the beach to kill some time. We were recommended not to walk to th beach as its a fair distance in 40 degree heat but since the shuttle bus from the hotel leaves only once a day and there are only enough sunbeds around the pool for 20% of the guests we thought we'd give it a go. The beach was worse than benidorm. We returned to the hotel to find our room was underground in staff quarters with no window let alone the sea view we had paid for. We were told there was nothing they could do as it "was a busy time of year and this is also where the staff have to live". We had booked 5 months previous. We found the service appalling and when we checked out early we were pretty much told "mmm yes room 306" as if they expected this and they make money by putting people in this dungeon room who then can not stay. Appalling....

Do not go here, it is the most disgusting hotel I've ever seen. There was stains all over the mattress, curtains, carpets, also cat S... all over. When we asked Goldtrail for a move we were told that the hotel had passed inspections and they were not prepared to move us. We had to pay ourselves to be moved to another hotel it was absolutely disgusting I've been going to Turkey for 12yrs now so I know that you normally get basic that's fair enough as long as its clean GOLDTRAIL are the worst travel operators I've ever come across, never again will I travel with this company BE WARNED!!

Me and my friend have just came back from Icmeler and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bellevue hotel.
We found the staff very welcoming and friendly, the rooms were basic but never the less suited our needs, we had no fault at all with the rooms, they were very clean and spacious.
We would definitely consider going back again as we enjoyed our stay. For a relaxing holiday with friendly staff choose the Bellevue!!! xx

My husband and I went to the Bellevue to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. What should have been a memorable holiday turned into a nightmare. On arrival I noticed the cockroach which was walking up the wall on the front of the building a little disturbing but outside not inside I thought.
On arrival at reception we were allocated a room then were taken up in the lift, we exited the lift and then had to go up two flights of stairs to reach our room. The first thing we both noticed was the cleanliness or rather lack of it. The end of the corridor had sheets of plastic up, obviously work was being done. We requested a double room as most of the rooms in Icmeler tend to be twins, we also requested a balcony.
We left our home in England at 7am arrived at around 5pm Turkish time so just wanted to settle down shower change and go visit our very numerous Turkish friends. When the porter opened the door I just burst into tears, not only were we in the loft the heat was stifling, the room was partly decorated the net curtains at the windows were mouldy and there was mould all around the top of the ceiling. The air conditioning unit did not work, the bathroom was full of mould and damp and the bedding was definitely not fresh bedding.
I have rated this room as a 1 that is being too generous believe me. In short we could not get moved till Wednesday we were informed, a little silly as we were departing on the Friday evening. The porter just left us there (he used the lift) so we had to lug our cases down 6 or 8 flights of stairs we complained at reception to no avail. There was no tour rep to help, we spoke to her on the phone she informed us she would be on the premises the next morning. We demanded our passports back and left.
If it was not for the fact that we have friends in Icmeler I do not know what we would have done. To cut a long story short we filled in a complaint form and ended up paying for accommodation elsewhere. I am only glad that our two daughters were at home with our parents. We holiday twice a year in Icmeler and according to the tour rep for the Bellevue it is deserving of the three stars and is up to Turkish standards. All lies! We have stayed at different apartments and hotels and this is the worst I have ever seen.
When we complained we were joined by 4 other couples and families also complaining. Do holiday in Icmeler though because I promise you if you find the right accommodation you will have the best holiday of your life. The friends we met in turkey now call us their family we have been to their villages met their children and families, truly lovely people. As for the Bellevue a definite no no.

We have just arrived back from Iicmeler, not having been on holiday without our parents before, my boyfriend and I was a bit nervous. After reading the reports on Bellevue we were extremely worried.
After a night flight we arrived at the hotel at about 6.30am. When we arrived we were greeted by a man who was nice and friendly. We were taken to our room with twin beds, balcony. The room was basic but very clean. The cleaner came into our room every day and fresh towels were supplied. The staff are lovely, Robbie, Farat and Murat are fantastic and they will go to any trouble to help you. The pool area was lovely and the food was great.
The only bad thing about the holiday was the flight, Onur Air (we flew to Bodrum) and the coach transfer with goldtrail was like a white knuckle ride which we had to sit for 3 hours on the coach, so next time I would fly to Dalaman.
Honestly, go to the hotel with an open mind, don’t believe what the bad reviews say, they must be expecting a palace. The hotel was nice but basic and we would book to stay at Bellevue again.
When you go to Icmeler go to restaurant called Holiday and Titanic and Champagne. Ask Farat to give you directions to Champagne, they give you 10% discount if he sends you.

We have just got back from staying in the Bellevue hotel. I would never stay there again. On arrival put in to an unacceptable room with no water. We were moved to another room just as unacceptable with stains on the beds and a balcony door that did not shut (that’s if you could call it a balcony)
We reported the door and were told to go out as planned leaving the door open and it would be fixed by the time we got back.
Arrived back at midnight still not fixed staff then stuck the door shut with tape. We complained on several occasions and had no response. We could not stand it any longer in that hotel and had to pay to be moved as did several other people in the same week.
In our opinion until something is done about this hotel it should be removed from the brochure. All we have to say is do not go to this hotel. Icmeler is beautiful and we will be going again but not to the Bellevue.

Having arrived at the Bellevue on the Sat morning we were looking forward to getting into our room as it had been a long day and night.
But what a disappointment. The room was quite small and smelly, we complained to the reception staff and asked to be moved. But were told the hotel was fully booked.
On the Sunday I felt really poorly and asked for a blanket as I was really cold but I was refused, we asked more than once to no avail even asking the rep, but by Wednesday I still hadn’t received one, eventually another guest came to my rescue and gave me theirs which I was grateful for.
We also learned a few of the other guests had also requested blankets which they also were refused. We found the hotel staff to be very uncooperative.
The lads who ran the restaurant & bar however couldn’t have been more helpful so thank you to Farhat, Robbie & Smiler the Richard Gear lookalike, these lads made the holiday more enjoyable for my husband & me.
This is the 5th time we have stayed in Icmeler and have never ever come across staff as rude as those in the Bellevue Hotel.
We are going back to Icmeler in August but will never stay in this Hotel again.

This was my 1st holiday abroad, so I was obviously very curious of what I was in for!
To start with we got put in a small room at the top of hotel, it was awful! It was like being in a prison cage. We made a complaint after 1 night, as we were promised a balcony with windows. We were moved no problem at all. I
t wasn’t until we spoke to other guests, that we realised everyone gets put in the small dingy rooms, but get moved when asked to! I have no idea why they do this.
That was the only thing I disliked about my time in turkey. The breakfast was good, healthy in a source of macronutrients. Eggs, wholemeal bread, light jam etc etc. even during the day they could produce some nice snacks or meals.
As for restaurants, I loved it as did my girlfriend. Some to try are the love boat and the black sea. Both lovely meals and great staff.
Also the guys working at the Bellevue were really sound, very chatty and always made you feel welcome.
I would stay here again, though our choice for our next journey is marmaris. So no Bellevue!
Worth the trip though.

We have been going to icmeler for the past 7 years. The belle vue was the most basic we have stayed in but the staff were absolutely fantastic .The hotel needs a revamp but as we said basic means what you get. The rooms were cleaned everyday with clean towels also.
We are rarely in our room, shower and sleeping only so don’t be put off, you make your own holiday as enjoyable as you want it. By the way, Icmeler is a fantastic resort and the Turkish people are the friendliest and funniest people you could hope to meet.
