Submitted By: Miss L Peeve1)The transport from airport dropped us at the hotel but there was no reception - the reception was 5 minute walk and we had no idea how to get there so we found some security guards who helped us.
2)When we go to reception we then has to walk up a really steep hill to our apartments and we only had one person help us and there was 4 suite Cases
3)My first impression of the hotel was disgusting cockrotches on floor and it did not look anything we imagined.
4)The rooms in fareness were very nice and were cleaned regularly
5)A few things seemed to go missing throughout day ear rings ect
6)At the back of the apartment was a tunnell and some very strange people used to go down there at night which didnt make you feel very secure.
7)The nightlife was good and the hotel was close to everything which we liked.
8)The pool bar was not open throughout our holiday
9)Security Guards were to strict on noise
To Be honest i would not come back here again the hotel was ok but nothing i expected or was told look into this hotel very carefully before you book!

Submitted By: Miss D HaydonThe Paradero apartments are in a fairly big complex of low rise, whitewashed apartments and theyre all part of the "Paraiso de sol" which has the reception and the main pool and bar" - I was supposed to be in Paradero but was right near the pool so it seems that all the apartments are "mixed into one big resort"!
The apartments were clean and exactly what you'd expect from that kind of holiday - basic but with a nice bathroom, beds, a hob... you probably wont spend much time in them anyway. Our room had a nice private garden - a small patio with a sunlounger and some pretty flowers. Perfect for drinking wine on your patio in the evening under the palm trees.
All of the apartments have this or a balcony depending where you are.
Our kitchen light was not working so we complained and it was fixed the next day with no hassle at all, was fine!
The pool was clean but quite small and cold, but there were plenty of sunloungers and a nice bar and good music. Im 20 and had an amazing time there, I'm used to bargain holidays and this was one of the best places I have stayed at the price I paid.
You might have read about tramps, heavy security and a dry river at the back with a bridge over it that goes right through the complex.
There is an empy river (a storm drain or something?) which is right at the back of the resort. Most of the apartments are nowhere near it. I'll be honest, I wouldn't want to be right next to it but only because its less scenic, I didn't see any tramps even at night. Only about 30 of the 200ish apartments were anywhere near it. The ones that are next to it are fenced in, with barbed wire and bars on the window. It doesn't look like a prison and I think its more to make people feel safe, not that it is needed!
To sum it up, the apartments are perfect for a cheapo holiday in the sun, it's 5 mins fromt he beautiful beach, nice pool, they are clean and the maids are efficient, but you can get "better" apartments and the "less well located ones" all within the same complex - its pot luck where you are put!!
A word of advice, if you are going to Paradero, get the taxi driver to drop you off at the Paraiso Del Sol as that's the main reception! I arrived ona sunday outside the paradero and couldn't find the way in - had to walk round to the front to the Paraiso!

Submitted By: Miss L BrownThere were ants all over the bathroom, so we couldn't leave toothbrushes or sponges around, when speaking to our neighbours they said we should have ant spray in the room but there was not!
We asked reception to get all the problems fixed and they assured it would be done - wasn't done for 2 days and even then the sockets were never fixed!
Room was kept clean enough by the excellent maid service who even arranges your pyjamas in funny positions every day!
Hotel was close to beach and all nightlife so good in that respect.
Beware of the awful smell as hotel has a live open sewer running right through the middle of it! Uuggghh
Can’t comment on the pool as never went to it but it was very small.

Submitted By: Miss R MillerBut they were far from the truth! My sister an I had a really great holiday! the apartments were one of the cleanest I have stayed in. They were very basic but had everything that was needed in it, and was always kept clean by the maids!
It was in an ideal location! Could get a little bit noisy at night at times [but it is Tenerife after all so was expected!]
All the staff at the Paraiso del sol [where you check in an use the reception] were really nice an helpful.
We also used the pool there, it was good. always clean an could always get a sunbed! The pool bar was also good for breakfast or lunch.
over all it was a well enjoyed holiday an id definitely recommend it!

Submitted By: Miss S McgarveyWe arrived late at nite, had a bit of a hard time trying to check in but once we found reception all was fine, maids were in every day changing beds and towels. The surroundings are very pretty, the location is amazing right next to all bars and clubs!
We went on an organized british pub crawl on Thursday nite, tickets were 40 euros that was for Thurs and Monday nite! Every bar you go to you get a free shot and lots of fun with all the games! Everynite we came back the very cute security guard was sitting at his post or walking around the apartments checking all was ok, he did tell us off a couple time for being to noisy! We had one cockroach in our apartment which the security guard came to our rescue and got it out!
All in all a great holiday you get what you pay for. If you are going to the Paraderos don't worry I'm sure you will have a great holiday.
" Paradero 2 apartments
When you get off the transfer coach, you check in at the reception area of Paraiso del Sol.. We arrived at 11pm. The reception staff were friendly and spoke very good English (if a little broken). Here we signed in, produced our passports for brief inspection. Then, a burly security guard steps up and took hold of our cases. He walked us to our apartment block which was over the back from main reception, and was, in fact, about 5 mins walk away. We had a ground floor studio apartment.
Room 36. It's actually downstairs from street level, 2 small flights of steps, with the security office half way between the two. Get to know the security guards, they are quite pleasant, a simple, polite "Hola!" as you pass them, and it lets them know you are back on the complex.
The apartment block is only 2 floors. It's dated, but it's cheap so it is probably fair value for money. The apartment comprises of bathroom with over-bath shower, built-in sliding door, wardrobes, small wooden dining table and chairs, fridge, 2 ring electric cooker, kitchen cupboards. The kitchen is part of the lounge. Two single beds which are a kind of put you up bed but really very strong. It was 2 days before I realised they weren't actually "proper" beds.... but they were very comfortable! I would love to find this type of bed for sale in UK!
One sofa which is a pull out bed but it's a really good size and I doubt you would need to pull it out for kids to sleep on. TV set (extra cost) and phone. Patio doors with heat repelling curtains, as well as the decorative curtains. The entire apartment has ceramic tiled floor throughout, which even extends out to the patio. There are some lovely gardens running along the length of the apartment block, all watered by a hose pipe system that seems to cover the entire island! To lock the patio doors you have a metal bar which slots into place, which, in addition to the existing patio door lock makes it quite, secure. The front door of the apartment comes off a long tiled corridor and the door lock is very secure, double locking type. The corridor was hose piped and thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed one during the week we were there. This was probably sufficient and I was delighted to see it being so thoroughly cleaned.
I saw about 4 cockroaches but it may have been the same one! Just flick them away.
The apartment block shares the pool of Paraiso del Sol. Walk back to reception and turn right, it's not that far! There is a pool-side bar which is not the cheapest but you pay for the convenience I guess. The apartment block is about 15 mins walk from the beach. In the area around Paradero 2 there are any number of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops.
We only used the apartment as somewhere to sleep, on that basis, considering the price; it's perfectly fair and reasonable value for money. Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised. Try the Drop Inn restaurant for a good night out, that's child friendly. They have Cabaret acts every night.
Overall I would recommend these apartments to those holidaying on a budget.
They are not suitable if you have any kind of walking impairment due to the steps.

Submitted By: Miss M L DykeWhen booking we were told it’s all part of Paraisol Del Sol, which it is but be careful, the Paradero Apartments do not have a pool.
You can use Paraisol but its 10 Min walk, across a sewer bridge and the apartments are right next to the Homeless shelter, which is under the bridge you have to cross.
In 1 week being there, 4 people got mugged by homeless people so beware. All around apartment in barbed wire, bit like a prison.
On a better note the room (we had room 132) was modern and clean, on arrival. Everything you need in it, but the maid did only come once, the sheets were never changed, floors never swept, luckily my friend is a domestic goddess, so she kept it tidy.
It is only 5 mins walk to beach and pub area. A must to go is Snappys, excellent English breakfast, and if you like a good night out, you must go to the Wigan pier, hilarious, drag queen called Crystal, beware she can be rude, but great night out.
You must take a walk town the posh end one night, Santiago end, just to see how the other half live, it’s beautiful down there, huge casino and some lovely restaurants.
Oh & if you like a Chinese, go to Merlins, 5 Euros eat as much as you like...yum yum!

Submitted By: Miss LatterJust put them under bowls and put them on the balcony to fry(trust me it works).Be very wary though as we got robbed on our last day and we feel that the person must have had a key?
Overall it’s just a place to stay at the end of the day and you get what you pay for. The block we were in were all our age group and we got on really well with everyone. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or couples and watch out for the looky looky men and people who drag you into the bars. Its close to the bars, clubs, beach and shops what more could you want.

Submitted By: laurieluOverall the accommodation was ok, but don’t expect the Ritz in Tenerife, accommodation is merely a bed for the drunk holiday haha.
It was close to the centre of the nightlife but not so close that music can be heard all night.
When we first arrived the taxi driver dropped us off at the place we were staying but we had to go to the main hotel reception, which was a bit confusing to find when its your first time there and after much confusion and confused Spanish men in neighbouring hotels trying to understand us, we were directed to the hotel to pick up our keys.
When we finally got into our studio (which we were told would be an apartment but hey ho), we learnt that we had to rent appliances like kettle, toaster etc so after buying lots of bread, spreads, teabags we were told there weren’t any free so I wasted my money there!!
We were invaded by ants on the 2nd day so we were given bug spray and after a complete blitz everywhere with it they didn’t come back! My friend managed to shut her finger in the sliding doors to the patio as well as it was a bit dodgy but we did complain and they were quick to sort it out.
There were maids who cleaned everyday and regularly changed towels etc so we were very pleased with that. We had no cockroaches inside out studio or on our patio which was good, although there were a few dead ones outside that couldn’t be helped.
The only worst thing about the place was the noise from the drunk neighbours at night but that’s to be expected, as we were the same annoying neighbours sometimes haha.
" Hi,
Just got back from the... "
Just got back from the Paradero apartments on Sunday (13 Nov). We had a fantastic time. I wanted to post this as before we went (we booked last minute) I read reviews on the internet and was deeply worried about what my partner and I were letting ourselves in for as 9/10 reviews were bad. FEAR NOT.
1) Our apartments were very nice for a 2 star, lovely balcony, maids came every single day and all you need to do is put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door before you go to bed and then they come once you've gone - we saw one cockroach in our room but that was because the balcony was open
2) There was a pool right outside our door - many people seem not to have realised that as well as the hotel pool there is a pool in the Paradero 1 complex!!
3) The evening entertainment was brilliant - being in a young couple we met other young couples and all joined in for the quizzes etc. Every night was something different - a hypnotist, a magician, a salsa class & show, snake show, singers etc. Fantastic - and this generally goes on till about midnight which is when the nightlife in Las Americas begins so for those in the party mood you then head on down to the veronica strip (lots of clubs/bars)
4) The beach/bars/ shops are a 10 minute walk
5) The weather was fantastic
6) If you remember to keep your balcony locked overnight/when you're out and double lock the front door and don't leave the safety deposit key in your room-it will minimise the risk of you being robbed!!! We didn't hear of anyone being robbed while we were there and the security is very good - after seven o'clock only one gate into the apartments is left open and there is a guard stationed there
6) The only things I will say in warning are remember you need to get the apartment keys from the hotel reception but its not as long a walk as everyone makes out although you don't get any help with your luggage! Also watch out when walking around Las Americas as people stand outside every bar/pub/cafe/club trying to persuade you to come in - just say no thanks and keep walking
But we had a fantastic time and I'm sure most of you will too!

Submitted By: Mr G RogersParadero was by far the worst place I have ever stayed in. I can think of nothing positive to say about the place at all.
1. The fridge didn’t work and there was a towel in it when we arrived as well as food left by prior guests.
2. The sink was dirty and the taps looked a million years old...rusty coloured.
3. There were ants everywhere.
4. The shower leaked so that when you were finished there was a pool on the bathroom floor regardless of how well u tried to stop the flow...also the shower-head was broken.
5. There is a very noisy karaoke across the street.
6. The sliding door to the balcony was extremely difficult to open and would often jam. A girl would struggle to open it.
7. The beds...well all I’ll say is that you’d be doing well not to catch something off them....the cleaners changed the sheets once and when we arrived back one afternoon we found that one bed had been made but the other was left in a mess?!
8. The pool is a good 5 minutes walk away....to the Paraiso Del Sol which is also where reception is....oh, and the safety deposit box didn’t work....anyway there is no pool unless u fancy 5 minute walk. (the least you'd expect is that there would be a pool!) 9. There is some kind of a 'cess' river at the back of the complex that stinks during the day....as well as looking disgusting.
10. On the plus side...there were no cockroaches....!!!!!!!! Amazingly! But I’ve come to the conclusion that even they refuse to reside in the shambles that is the Paradero apartments.
Unless you're under the age of 23 and single don’t go to Playa De Las Americas....and if u want to keep your sanity don’t go near the Paradero apartments.

Unlike some, we were dropped outside the reception so we didnt have to do the long walk around. We were given room 009 which is in the paradero 2 complex. We got to our room which was quite far from reception and saw a basic room which i did not mind at all. the beds were comfortable and it was quite a big room so i was happy. We went to the nearest swimming pool which was nice and had a nice day by the pool, showered, and had a nice dinner at one of the resturants.
But then when we went back to our apartment, we found FOUR cockroaches running around all over the kitchen! We tried to get them out but finally had to give up and reluctantly went to go to sleep. Then we heared fighting outside our room, screaming and shouting went on for 10minutes and no security guards were anywhere in sight. The gate to lock the apartments off to the public (which was outside our room) was not locked once during the whole week we stayed. We were afraid to leave our room, but when we did we went straight to reception and asked to have our room changed. They told us there was nothing they could do and it was to be expected from a 2KEY...now we were told this was a 3STAR so we were disgusted! I was really uspet and me and my boyfriend just wanted to go home then and there, as it didnt feel safe or clean in that room.
In the morning we found a dead cockroach and hundreds of small white insects eating it! They were all over the room and coming out of the walls! We packed straight away and demanded another room else where. We were given another room 156G which is near the main pool by reception. This room was alot better however we were kept up in the night by singing and blasting music from the next hotel.
Another problem was the cleanliness of the pool. The smallest pool for babies, had glass in one day, and was still there for the next 5days despite complaints from parents whose children had been cut.
The staff at the pool side were nice and the entertainment each night was good, however i would not stay in this hotel again and would not reaccomend it to anyone. The paradero 1 complex is supposedly better than the paradero 2, however i would still not take he risk.
