Submitted By: Miss E BarlowWe got to the hotel to be told that the receptionist had gone to our apartments!! when she did turn up she was extermley rude and un helpful she said we couldnt keep the room on even though the apartments were empty, she eventualy let me ring the company who i'd booked with and they let me get in touch with a rep who sorted it out for us. On the day we were meant to check out we went to the reception to pay for the extra night and there was no one there so we rang the reception number to be told we had to walk up to the hotel There was a man there who wanted to check out and leave his luggage there and collect it later that night. The man ended up sitting outside the reception for hours to finally ring the number to be told that he would have to take his luggage up there he was not impressed to say the least, his family had gone off to do last minute shopping and he was meant to be meeting up with them! Any way we got up to the hotel which was up a hill to pay for the room which she did knock the price down for us after i complained about having to go to the hotel. I asked if the security guard would be there at 1am to hand our key in as he had a tendancy to go for walks and she ensured me he would be. We got to the reception at 1am to find nobody there and our coach turned up to take us to the airport there was no letter box so i just shoved the key under the door. So make note dont get a security box as you'll never get your deposit back with out having to make several phone calls and hanging about wasting your holiday!!!!!!!

Submitted By: Mr M JonesThis what we did after reading the comments from this site. We had none of the problems described by the others. We were sent the apartment key in advance and a nice information pack and excellent details on how to find the apartment. We arrived late a night and the welcome pack provided by the owner was welcome. The aprtment was very clean and tidy. It was like a home from home - it had British TV, Hi-fi, oven, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, washing machine and a safe, in fact we wanted for nothing. Other than stocking the fridge up with beer! Though owner said that could have been arranged!! The complex only has a swimming pool. There is no poolside bar or cafe. The sunbeds are a bit tired and jaded - but owner has told us that the pool and terraces are going to refurbished in November - so the pool might not be available - so watch out for this. We spoke to some people at the who were asking about the state of our apartment, who had booked through a holiday company and when they saw our apartment and asked what we paid - they were really upset - I will not use their actual words. They felt robbed.
There are plenty of resturants and bars nearby. Also the area is under the flight path to the airport - but we soon got used to the noise. If you are a plane spotter it would be paradise!
From reading the other reports I would agree do not rent these apartments from a holiday company from an owner. Just use Google or Yahoo and you will find plenty of sites.

Submitted By: Mrs X XYZIt will certainly be our last holiday there and with this company.
My advise to other holiday makers is to book their apartment privately with the owners as the companies who rent on this complex do not appear to accept any responsiblity for the contents of the apartments.

Submitted By: Mrs J WilloughbyThe doors wouldn't lock, the electrics weren't safe and any extras like fans, kettle they charged a premium for you to hire them!
We seemed to have been quite lucky we only had a filthy disgusting apartment with ants not cockroaches! The pool bar was there but not open and hadn't been for several months, the low flying planes didn't really bother us but the sheer substandard accommodation did, the last thing you want to do when you go on holiday is to start cleaning and scrubbing every room, Our first port of call was the Netto for 20 Euros worth of cleaning goods to clean everything down, cupboards, fridge and bathroom before we could actaully use any of it!
Word of warning! Book at your peril unless your not very choosy and don't mind sleeping in a hovel!

Submitted By: Ms L DuckworthWe went to the Sunset View Club which is just next to the Sand Club and were treated very sympathetically but the staff there who managed to accomodate us with a lovely 1 bedroom apartment with all the things that the Sand Clubs web page offered but did not deliver.
PLEASE! DO NOT BOOK THESE APARTMENTS UNLESS VIA THE INDIVIDUAL OWNERS AS THE ACCOMODATION ON OFFER VIA THE HOLIDAY COMPANIES IS ABSOLUTELY VILE.

Submitted By: Mr G A SwiftThe reception was in darkness with no lights on either inside or outside. The sign above was in darkness and difficult to see at night, but there is a bus stop outside. Spanish security guard spoke no English but did take us to the accommodation.
The accommodation looked clean and tidy but was basic. In the morning the resort was quite pleasing not untidy plenty of places to eat with a Netto supermarket and other shops. The food was mostly English with places offering cooked breakfasts and good evening meals. The entertainment at night ok But this is not disco land.
All in all the accommodation is ok but if you are looking for comfort, this accommodation will leave you wanting.
" This was the worst holiday of my life... "
Submitted By: Ms CLW WWhen we finally arrived at what they called a room, we were unable to open the door due to a faulty lock and as we then entered the room we were welcomed to an unhealthy unclean kitchen and bathroom, cockroaches and a dirty bedroom that I was too frightened to sleep in. To top this off the pool was so filthy you could not get in it and also we were never warned about how close the planes were and how often they flew over!
In addition to this the room was not cleaned once while we were there for a week and we only received clean towels on the first day we were there.
As this holiday was such a disgrace we ended up booking in to another hotel for a few nights as we simply found ourselves dreading our the return to this resort.
I strongly recommend not to go anywhere near this resort! The only solution to the issues that this place has is it to be demolished!

Submitted By: Mr David RossThe overall complex was clean, bright and tidy. There were obvious efforts being made to make it an attractive place to stay. The pool and pool area was clean but unfortunately the sun beds had seen better days. It was a shame the bar has been shut for well over a year, but we got the feeling that gradually things were improving. On most days there were plenty of kids of all ages (and adults) having loads of fun in the pool.
We had two rooms which were clean and served the basic purpose that we wanted them for. The maid was in every two days so we had no complaints there. They are not top class rooms it has to be said, but we never paid top dollar, so we never expected them to be. Basic but suitable facilities, spacious and plenty of storage in the bedrooms. We have certainly stayed in worse - and paid more for the pleasure.
The resort itself (San Blas) is quiet but nonetheless rather pleasant. Not for party animals but the evenings were nice sociable affairs with no hint of loutish behaviour whatsoever. Regrettably, I cannot agree that all the eating establishments were great. We did indeed have some very nice meals but equally we visited one or two places where quantity (invariably chips or rice) took preference over quality. The places of a better standard were off the main strip where although the service was slower but the food more than made up for it.
Overall we had a reasonably pleasant stay at Sand Club and San Blas. It is not a place to go to improve your Spanish as virtually all the establishments are run by Brits - and it is for that reason that we would probably not go back there. But, it was certainly not as bad as some of the reviews have portrayed and we had a nice stay if not outstanding. Oh, and the planes did not bother us at all.

We went with the thought that we'd make the best of a bad lot,and enjoy the sunshine!
We arrived around lunchtime and on visiting the reception were mwt by a very friendly lady receptionist, who assured us that our apartment was lovely.
We were pleasantly surprised when entering the apartment, It was basic (what do you want with the prices we paid)? but very clean and bright.
There was no Kettle but we knew this when we booked so brought one with us!(they were only 5 euros a week to hire anyway) also you can hire a microwave for 30 euros and it arrived the same day, The staff were so helpful and friendly, they couldn't do enough to help.
The pool was clean and had plenty of sun loungers,The pool area was cleaned daily.
The pool bar was shut but that was probably because we stayed so early in the season and it was not a problem anyway.
The shops and restaurants were a short walk away and it was a lovely, safe and friendly atmosphere, we had no problem with rowdyness as the resort was very quiet.
The local super market was a short walk away also and had all you would need for your stay' Although more expensive than the larger one a bit further away.
I just want to put anyone's mind at rest if they are worried about staying here (as I was) as it was lovely, It was clean, friendly, sunny, andin a convenient location.
I would not be put off by other reviews as people tend to just find fault and not see the positives!
P.s we booked with onthebeach.com
ENJOY!!!!!!!
