Just got back from an amazing two week honeymoon at Hakuraa Club.
I would totally recommend this resort to anyone who is looking to relax in paradise. The weather was a brilliant 30 degrees everyday, the sun was shinning and the water was warm and crystal clear!
We couldn't have wished for anything better. The location was paradise, the staff couldn't have been more helpfull, the food was of a good standard and offered plenty of variety. The water bungerlows were cleaned twice a day by our very friendly housekeeper Aslam.
One thing I would suggest, anyone flying with Monarch Airways, it is definately worth paying that bit extra and upgrading to Premium seats.
We can't wait to go back again!!

We got married in Sri Lanka the previous week, then travelled on to Chaaya for our honeymoon. Starting with our journey by sea plane was a fantastic start to a week of paradise. The sand was like white powder the sea was paler than the sky and so warm. Accomodation in the water bungalow with the glass floor was absolutely great! Didn't want to come home.!!!

This was our forth visit to Hakuraa and once more it was fantastic, the staff as always are fantastic and do everything to make your time with them great.
This is a very small island,70 waterbungalows as well as a few land villas. All the accomodation is lovely and helps you relax very quickly into your holiday.
Fernando the entertainments manager works very hard to make sure all of your requirements are met to the best of his ability.
Raj the manager could not do enough for us and this was the same treatment we were given by all staff from the ladies who keep the island clean, the room boys, waiting staff and bar staff alike.
Another fantastic time had by all and i can asure you we will be back.

Just returned from a wonderful time at Chaaya Hakuraa Club. Myself and my husband stayed in a water bungalow and would thoroughly recommend it! Neither of us are particularly good swimmers, but the snorkelling was great fun, the sea was warm, very gentle and crystal clear and the fish and marine life made it memorable. The food is first class, a huge choice and all expertly cooked. Everything is really clean, the staff are so friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. Our room was cleaned twice a day and towels replaced. Facilities excellent, including windsurfing, diving, table tennis or badminton or just lazing about on the beach loungers or hammocks! A must is a visit to the Spa, which was fabulous - I had a balinese massage which was wonderful and worth every penny. Nightly entertainment provides something for everyone. Some advice - try to get a direct flight (it's a long, long journey!) Also, take a pair of "jelly" shoes or similar for snorkelling as the reef on one side of the island is a bit sharp and take an underwater camera. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We went to the Hakuraa Club for our honeymoon. It was like a dream come true. Everything was absolutely beautiful and we were constantly amazed by the tropical fish. The water bungalow was immaculate and had everything we could possibly need, the selection of food was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would love to return sometime, maybe one day for our anniversary! The only down side to the holiday was having to go back home.

Hakuraa is the best holiday I have had in the Maldives, and this was my fourth visit to the islands! The location is fabulous, the view off the island over the lagoon and out over the ocean is simply breathtaking.
The island is golden sand everywhere, palm trees swaying gently in the breeze and a variety of colourful flora lines the paths on the island. Everything is immaculate. The staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant food is delicious and the three bars on the island serve cold beer, and a good job too, because it was in the 90's every day and 80's every night and we only had 30 minutes rain in two weeks, and that was in the night !
The water bungalows are very comfortable. The private sun deck on the back of each is fantastic and the room boy’s call and clean twice a day with fresh towels on a daily basis.
The spa in the centre of the island is exceptional with a wide variety of treatments and I highly recommend anyone visiting Hakuraa to try it!
The real joy for me about this island was the diving. The dive master is a local lad called Mahjidee (known to all as Magic). Always smiling, always fun, always looking after the divers and his knowledge of the ocean and the dive sights invaluable. For the first time came back with photos of Manta Rays! Made some new friends and really enjoyed the whole diving experience.
I shall be returning to the Maldives again this year for the fifth time but am seriously considering returning to Hakuraa, and that would be a first!

The most beautiful place you could go to for a relaxing holiday or honeymoon (like us).
The island is beautiful, the rooms (water bungalows) are beautiful; I didn’t want to come back. You can also step out of your bungalow and go for a dip anytime.
Night fishing is excellent - I caught 7 fish and my wife caught one, from orange roughly to gurnard.
Waiter - Ali was magnificent and our room boy Aslam was great also. I can’t fault their service or the meals prepared or anything.
Spa treatments are first class. Do try it!
All and all I keep thinking about Hakuraa and want to get back. For an all inclusive meal package the daily rate is very cheap. This place truly is beautiful. It can only be experienced in person - photos are great but being there is something else.

"Absolute paradise"
"Completely faultless"
"Perfect honeymoon destination"
Need i go on...ok then:
If you are a groom looking to book an unforgettable honeymoon for his bride then look no further. I booked it as a surprise for my new wife and neither of us were disappointed. The flight with Monarch along with sea plane transfer creates a long travel time, but once you are there it only adds to the experience and isolation in paradise. Even being there during the monsoon season, it only rained 2 nights and overcast on 2 days but the temperature remained around the 30 mark.
The water bungalows are something else, especially with the glass window in the floor, during the course of 2 weeks we saw a lion fish, parrot fish and even an octopus through it! The food is amazing, seafood lovers will be spoilt for choice. Entertainment is pitched just right, something every night but not overbearing if you just want a quiet drink. The highlight is the little animator called Ratty hosting bingo and crab racing!
We didn't take advantage of the excellent dive school but we saw a huge variety of marine life just going snorkelling on the free boat out to the many reefs. The sea fishing trips are nothing like anything you'd do in the Uk, if you catch anything you are a better man than I! However we did see dolphins during a fishing trip which was a nice bonus.
Since returning home we are both suffering from post-Hakuraa depression and are already talking about an anniversary holiday back there in the near future!

I went there for my honeymoon and what can I say... wow! The staff are absolutely brilliant. In the morning there are ladies who sweep the sand. When you get back to your bungalow the bed is beautifully presented with the sheets folded into a different pattern every night.
If you're not out of your room in the morning, or even the afternoon, the cleaners will always keep coming back until you have left so they can clean it. The room is always cleaned again in the evening when you get back from dinner.
One day we brought back a coconut to our bungalow and later that evening when we got back from dinner, the cleaner had skilfully cut open the coconut for us.
The reception staff are very helpful (our leaking tap was fixed within half an hour of reporting it) and the bar staff are always extremely willing to make you an eye wincing cocktail with a friendly smile.
The food is the best I have ever tried with a huge selection every night. Each night is themed from a different country as well as the usual salads, delightful breads (the cheese bread is just so special!), fish, etc.
The fish is incredible with such a meaty flavour, which is caught from the vast surrounding Indian Ocean. The special beach dinner is amazing. The seafood starter just has to be tried. There was a chef there, who would cook the specials each night and lovely breakfast who was just adorable. I nearly took him home so I could enjoy his fabulous cooking every day.
The beach was just so idyllic with postcard white sand, crystal clear waters and tall coconut palms. You get to overlook this breathtaking scenery with every meal of the day, as there are no glass windows in the restaurant. Instead there are just big square gaps which are covered with bamboo style blinds when the restaurant is closed after dinner.
If you manage to get to the Hakuraa club, you must go snorkelling and see what lies beneath the water bungalows and surrounding crystal waters. You are advised there is nothing dangerous in the waters, except the coral if you cut yourself on it.
Deep sea or night fishing is also a must. I think they cook what you catch from these excursions. However, if the weather is bad out at sea you might have to wait a few days before you can go. Looking at what life s like on an inhabited island is also very interesting.
If you want to unwind and forget about everything for a couple of weeks or more, if you can afford it, then this is definitely the place to go.
I would advise everyone to go at least once in a life time. If only I could go again!

This was our second trip to this island paradise and it was even better second time around.
The accommodation in the beach and water bungalows (we were in both) is excellent. The food is marvellous with a tremendous selection, even for a veggie like me.
The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful from the night security guard to the restaurant manager.
Our personal waiter, Ali , always greeted us with a smile and a drink. Our room boy, Aslam, was a delight.
I celebrated a birthday when we were there this time and the effort the staff put in to make it a memorable day had to be seen to be believed.
We are looking forward to returning for a 3 week stay in the very near future.

Having been to Hakuraa in 2004 we were lucky enough to go again in 2006. When we visited again in Feb 2007 we said it would definitely be the last time!
By 9:00pm on the first day we were committed to going again in 2008.
The flight out is a bit of a drag but knowing what’s waiting takes the edge off the boredom. As soon as you get onto the yellow float plane for the 45 minute trip to Hakuraa the excitement is tremendous.
We zoomed around the island before landing and the view is wonderful. As soon as you land you are made to feel at home and seeing some of the staff that recognised us was fantastic.
The Spa is a new addition which we didn’t try but lots of people did and said the massages were great, we must try it next time.
The whole place is relaxing and you can do as much or as little as you want each day. We were hooked by the 2 free snorkelling trips a day having bought an underwater housing for our digital camera.
The food is incredible and if you want something different the master chef is always willing to give it a go.
All in all a fantastic place, wonderful staff, and memories that will last a lifetime. Roll on Jan 21st 2008, 3 weeks this time!

Be prepared for a very, very long journey, not helped with a 3hour delay by Monarch Airways and a 2 hours wait for The Seaplanes, on both legs.
We were in the Beach Huts. They were quite dark with harsh strip lighting and smelt of damp. Our TV or safe did not work all week despite numerous calls to the Front Desk.
Outside it stank of sewerage every morning. The dining room is like a furnace so no lingering over dinner.
The best bit was The Spa. Have a massage on your first day. After a 24hour journey, the tiny Thai women pummel the aches and pains out of you.
The Tsunami bashed the island about, with twisted trees and damp still in evidence - but it remains a piece of paradise.

On a cold rainy day in March I saw this place advertised in the Sunday Times. This was our first trip to the Maldives, and I can honestly say it has been the best money we’ve ever spent on a week’s holiday.
The location - Absolute paradise, better than you could ever imagine!
The staff - Friendly, warm, hospitable, they couldn't do enough for you.
The Food - The choice was amazing, standards impeccable (Book the special meal on the beach).
Your water bungalow - Clean, rooms cleaned twice per day, back garden - The Indian Ocean!
Diving - The dive staff are so energetic, if you are experienced or planning your first dive they make it memorable for you.
Spa - As my partner was not into the diving it was only fair she was pampered whilst I was away, would recommend the full package (if you can afford it!!) I had a back massage every day, the staff were brilliant!
The Weather - Take plenty of sun block your going to need it! Rains sometimes at night, but passes as quick as it arrives.
“God certainly smiled when he looked down on this part of the world and if you were ever lucky enough to get an opportunity to visit, you would understand why”
This holiday is best suited to those who just want to let go and unwind in paradise.

Only just got back from our honeymoon. The reviews to date give this resort an excellent rating. I can only add to the already outstanding comments made about this island, the staff, and food.
This resort is best suited to couples or those interested in scuba diving. Other than the local attractions the resorts only offers a chilled 5 star service
As with any trip to this area things to take with you as it takes so long to get it if you forget it. Sun screen, batteries, general medication and most important a relaxed attitude so that you take in all the pleasures that this location has to offer.
Also if you can take an underwater camera, digital is preferable as the cheaper versions do not get you the pictures you deserve
Do take part in the local events which raise money for the locals, this includes crab racing and bingo.
The spa is amazing. If you can afford it take one of the packages. They are better value and can be purchased for $300 or $500.
We also took advantage of the Adam and Eve trip were you are left on a local island all day on your own. Our day was very hot so be prepared for this.
The local reefs have taken a bit of a battering but you will still see turtles, sharks and many Rays.
The flight was by Monarch direct from Manchester to Male. I upgraded the seats which was worth it however beware you may not get all the extras this advertises unless you fly with Thomas Cook. Service and food on the plane was excellent.
The sea plane transfer was superb and a wonderful experience.
For those of you lucky to go to the Maldives enjoy the experience. Would love to go again.

I love holidays, go about 3 or 4 times a year but this has to be the most special one ever and its going to be so hard for any other resort to be. Its paradise!
Me and my husband left the kids with grandparents and enjoyed 2 glorious weeks of bliss. Wow I’m excited thinking about it.
We stayed in the water bungalows which are extremely clean, airy and spacious.
Believe me when I say it’s a dream come true, infact its better than any dream I have had. Oh I can’t wait to return maybe at the end of 2007, husband says if I’m good (he he).
If you’re worried about what the food will be like, relax because there are plenty of choices that will suit anyone and I was lucky to enjoy one of the meals on the beach.
What an awesome experience, it’s just like something you would watch in a film. It was candlelit while being serenaded and it just makes you feel so blessed and special.
We had some rain but thankfully that was at night, yet in the daytime the weather stayed around 30.
So please book this holiday if you’re thinking of doing so, because like me you will be amazed.
