On a cold rainy day in March I saw this place advertised in the Sunday Times. This was our first trip to the Maldives, and I can honestly say it has been the best money we’ve ever spent on a week’s holiday.
The location - Absolute paradise, better than you could ever imagine!
The staff - Friendly, warm, hospitable, they couldn't do enough for you.
The Food - The choice was amazing, standards impeccable (Book the special meal on the beach).
Your water bungalow - Clean, rooms cleaned twice per day, back garden - The Indian Ocean!
Diving - The dive staff are so energetic, if you are experienced or planning your first dive they make it memorable for you.
Spa - As my partner was not into the diving it was only fair she was pampered whilst I was away, would recommend the full package (if you can afford it!!) I had a back massage every day, the staff were brilliant!
The Weather - Take plenty of sun block your going to need it! Rains sometimes at night, but passes as quick as it arrives.
“God certainly smiled when he looked down on this part of the world and if you were ever lucky enough to get an opportunity to visit, you would understand why”
This holiday is best suited to those who just want to let go and unwind in paradise.

Only just got back from our honeymoon. The reviews to date give this resort an excellent rating. I can only add to the already outstanding comments made about this island, the staff, and food.
This resort is best suited to couples or those interested in scuba diving. Other than the local attractions the resorts only offers a chilled 5 star service
As with any trip to this area things to take with you as it takes so long to get it if you forget it. Sun screen, batteries, general medication and most important a relaxed attitude so that you take in all the pleasures that this location has to offer.
Also if you can take an underwater camera, digital is preferable as the cheaper versions do not get you the pictures you deserve
Do take part in the local events which raise money for the locals, this includes crab racing and bingo.
The spa is amazing. If you can afford it take one of the packages. They are better value and can be purchased for $300 or $500.
We also took advantage of the Adam and Eve trip were you are left on a local island all day on your own. Our day was very hot so be prepared for this.
The local reefs have taken a bit of a battering but you will still see turtles, sharks and many Rays.
The flight was by Monarch direct from Manchester to Male. I upgraded the seats which was worth it however beware you may not get all the extras this advertises unless you fly with Thomas Cook. Service and food on the plane was excellent.
The sea plane transfer was superb and a wonderful experience.
For those of you lucky to go to the Maldives enjoy the experience. Would love to go again.

I love holidays, go about 3 or 4 times a year but this has to be the most special one ever and its going to be so hard for any other resort to be. Its paradise!
Me and my husband left the kids with grandparents and enjoyed 2 glorious weeks of bliss. Wow I’m excited thinking about it.
We stayed in the water bungalows which are extremely clean, airy and spacious.
Believe me when I say it’s a dream come true, infact its better than any dream I have had. Oh I can’t wait to return maybe at the end of 2007, husband says if I’m good (he he).
If you’re worried about what the food will be like, relax because there are plenty of choices that will suit anyone and I was lucky to enjoy one of the meals on the beach.
What an awesome experience, it’s just like something you would watch in a film. It was candlelit while being serenaded and it just makes you feel so blessed and special.
We had some rain but thankfully that was at night, yet in the daytime the weather stayed around 30.
So please book this holiday if you’re thinking of doing so, because like me you will be amazed.

Sue & I have stayed at Hakuraa four times and will be returning again this November. That says it all really!
The island although quite small never feels crowded and is very lush and kept absolutely immaculate by a small army who rake and clean up every day.
The accommodation (water bungalows) is roomy though basic and is cleaned twice a day and towels changed. You have your own sundeck with steps leading down into the lagoon.
The food is brilliant and there is always plenty of choice and we never have got bored with it. The chef is even open to requests!
The entertainment is low key which suits us as we go there to relax and chill out.
The dive school is brilliant and the dive sites are varied and there is plenty to see both large and small. I spend most of my time underwater which makes HRH happy because it's quiet when I am diving apparently!
There is a spa at Hakuraa which offers a variety of Balinese treatments and is worth a visit or three!
As I said at the start, this November will be our 5th Visit. See you there!

Have just returned from Hukuraa Hura. First visit to the Maldives and what a fantastic place for a holiday.
Everything about the Island was fantastic. My husband and I made good use of the gym and spa.
The food on the all inclusive basis was good with lots of choice and it catered for every taste, if you wanted curry for breakfast you could have it! You can pay extra and have a meal on the beach from an exclusive menu.
The rooms were lovely, they had been recently refurbished, they were attended too twice a day and the beds were turned down each evening. The glass bottom in the room was great, each time you looked there would be different things to look at, nice touch.
My husband and I were only there for 1 week and for us that was enough, we couldn't have done 2 weeks as there isn't a lot to do. But a week for some well earned R&R was lovely. I would recommend it highly and we would go again.

We booked this resort for our honeymoon, wanting something different. What we got was an amazing holiday different to any holiday we have had before. There was nothing to complain about.
The water bungalows are spacious, kept very clean by the room boys that visit twice a day. The food was fantastic and plenty of different dishes to suit everyone. The staff made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much for them to do. We are hoping to go back there next year for our anniversary. This resort is simply stunning and we recommend you try if you want that once in a lifetime experience then this is the place. During our stay the weather was in the 30s we had only two nights of rain but that didn't matter, there were still things to do.
We recommended you book a candle lit meal on the beach. Imagine a 3 course meal with the sound of the ocean near by, sand between your toes, candles burning and to finish your night off have one of the locals serenade you with your own choice of song. Has to be seen to be believed. Excellent.

We booked with Thomas Cook and flew with Thomson fly from Manchester to Male via Gatwick.
The holiday was amazing. The island is so beautiful, the water bungalows are very comfortable, and kept immaculately by the ever-faithful room boys. All the staff were friendly and helpful and we were totally spoilt by the service. The whole island is absolutely spotless and maintained to a very high standard and the dive school staff were patience personified.
In all, we had our most relaxing holiday ever - it was worth every penny spent, and every moment on the flight.

The resort was extensively damaged in the 26/12/2004 tsunami but has now been refurbished. The water bungalows have been extended and are now superb. Very little obvious damage remains. The island is only 6 acres but with only 70 water bungalows and 10 beach bungalows it never seemed crowded. The beach is white sand and has a vast, shallow lagoon, great for paddling, but for swimming take the free (twice daily) boat ride to one of the reefs.
We took lots of books thinking there would be nothing to do, but spent most of our time watching the fish in the lagoon, the usual tropical fish plus large rays, turtles, cuttlefish even a small octopus. The selection and quality of the food was always very good with a different 'theme' every night and the 'all inclusive' really was. You don’t need to spend any cash. The staff very always friendly and the service uniformly good. It has the feel of a small family run hotel. A good mix of guests, mostly British, a few German and some others. Ranging from honeymoon couples to pensioners, a couple of toddlers but no children.
The weather - it rained every day! But it didn’t matter. It would bucket down for 20 minutes, then the sun would come out again. You get used to seeing the approaching storm, adjourning to the bar for an hour, then back to your sunbed.
The only fault I can find with this holiday was the Monarch charter flight - very cramped seating for an 11 hour flight.

In a word - fantastic.
Island was clean (and sand was swept thoroughly several times a day). Staff were always eager to please and were welcoming of my ridiculous attempts at speaking the language.
Rooms clean, sea clean and warm. Food out of this world with plenty of choices.
On our visit there were only over-water bungalows to choose from however I am led to believe there are now a small number (12) beach bungalows now (if you are on a budget).
I won’t even start on the diving and dive-team.
Highly recommended.

Incredible place, wonderful staff brilliant food lots of choices at every meal. The whole experience from flying in on the seaplane to just sitting there with your toes in
the Indian ocean looking at the stunning views is mind blowing.
The dive school is second to none. There are lots of organised trips and you can even make like Robinson Crusoe and have your own island for the day. I took 983 photo's and am looking forward to doing the same on our return in Jan 2006.

Be prepared for a very, very long journey, not helped with a 3hour delay by Monarch Airways and a 2 hours wait for The Seaplanes, on both legs.
We were in the Beach Huts. They were quite dark with harsh strip lighting and smelt of damp. Our TV or safe did not work all week despite numerous calls to the Front Desk.
Outside it stank of sewerage every morning. The dining room is like a furnace so no lingering over dinner.
The best bit was The Spa. Have a massage on your first day. After a 24hour journey, the tiny Thai women pummel the aches and pains out of you.
The Tsunami bashed the island about, with twisted trees and damp still in evidence - but it remains a piece of paradise.
