The hotel is well situated with all rooms having sea views. We stayed in mid December when the hotel was not full and found it relaxing. The first four days had only one baby in the hotel. The food, whilst not piping hot, was good and plenty of choice. The dishes may not... more

This is definitely a hotel that has pulled up it's socks. We had a 9th floor suite with 2 bedrooms and a lounge. The cleanliness was fine (even if we found something left by previous occupants!) The maid came every day and was polite. It was a general feeling that although... more

I visited for a week and found the hotel very pleasant and relaxing and definitely suitable for over 40's. Younger people may find it useful to use it as a base and then go on to the rowdier places such as Playa De Las Americas and Los Cristianos. Supermarkets (Netto) and... more

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! The food was disgusting and the eating area was very dirty. The food appeared to have been left out for days and was cold. We paid to go all inclusive, selected drinks were free only until 10:00pm, which was the time that the... more

Hotel staff very friendly. The rooms are clean and well kept, but all have not got full sea veiws, we were looking out at a new complex being built with workmen starting at 7am. Food very repetitive and uninteresting, most of the time cold. Over all the standard of the hotel was nowhere near 4 star it was just about 3 star.

Accommodation very good, one double bed, 2 twin beds and a bed in the lounge. If you have a balcony overlooking the sea, it can be very noisy as the waves break on the rocks and amplify into the room. Reception area not very elaborate but clean and the staff very... more

4 star building, 3 star food, 2 star staffing
We returned from our holiday at the Vincci Golf on Friday 12th October. We booked for 7 nights half board. On arrival we were impressed by our room location, as I had emailed to advise of my wife's fear of elevators and they gave us a ground floor room near to reception. The bedroom was very nice, large bed etc, though not much space other than a reasonable balcony and large hallway, hence suspect that our room may have been standard rather than superior as booked. The wetroom style shower was very spacious, though dangerous, as the floor tiles were smooth and slippy and the waste was slow to drain and hence the room flooded every time we showered. In fairness I did not report this as I thought it was obvious to the room maids and that they would report back and do the necessaries. The hotel itself appeared to be targetted at a somewhat sophisticated clientelle and the clientelle did appear cosmopolitan despite a Spanish majority, though not your average Canarian tourist mix. The general feel and appearance was very impressive. The atmosphere and general presentation was very good, though I believe that this hotel has a lot more potential than its actual current service provision. The pool area was fine, with good quality furniture, free lounger cushions, parasols and glass wind shields. The hotel boasted a discoteque, an indoor bar and an upstairs chill out bar. In reality, these facilities might as well not have been there. I never saw anyone serving in the upstairs bar and the downstair bar was on request at any time other than early meal times. The discoteque was uninspiring and lacked atmosphere due to the low numbers availing themselves of it's facilities. The restaurant was well adorned, arranged and furnished. Many have euphamistically described the food as typically Spanish or Mediterranean. Although I am an Englishman, I do not pine for Fish or Pie and Chips, the general fayre was clearly locally inspired, but in all honesty I do have to observe that it was incredibly mediocre. Yes there were some lovely salads, yes unless you were incredibly fussy you would not go hungry, but alas, the overall quality and variation of food was not four star regardless of its ethnic orientation. One of the biggest deflating factors, was the hotels location. It is a half hour bus ride on the short route (483) or one and a quarter hours on the long route (470) to the nearest major location of Los Cristianos. Alternatively, 15 to 25 Euros eachway by Taxi, depending on whether the taxi driver charged you by what the meter stated or the first number that came in to his or her greedy head!. If you had to stay local, then the San Blas? centre was the nearest option. At night there are two main squares where the restaurents are clustered. They club together to provide entertainers. I did not try the food at any of these, though what I saw and smelled and heard comments on, appeared quite acceptable. The entertainment was typical of the island's tribute themed offerings. Some of the pubs during daytime hours appeared to attract those with the greatest grey matter challenges, so we only frequented at night. The prices for drinks in the hotel were not unreasonable when available. We did use Netto's for snacking, water etc, despite the hotel's notices of discouragement to "bring your own"!. The nearness of the airport flight path was of no consequence as this is on the hotel's blindside. There is a lot of local building work, but again the position of the hotel tended to shield you from any negative consequential impact. The hotel background music was probably taken from a compilation of "Music to cut your throat to", though mercifully volume levels were inobtrusive. So how would I summarise?. This is a very nice, quietly located, well designed and furnished hotel offering friendly services, which would suit a non scene couple with no children and a patient and undemanding disposition, looking to step off from the merry go round of franticity for a chill out period of moderate sustinence and stimulation, in very pleasant manufactured and natural surroundings in a neighbourhood which didnt live up to its own levels of semi opulence. Would I go back?...hmm I would have to think about it....but probably not until I was sure that the human resourcing level's were sufficent to allow the hotel to realise it's doubtless true potential.
Excellent Value
I can honestly say that having stayed at 3 or 4 of the 5* hotels in Adeje area the Vincci Tenerife Golf is excellent value for money. The staff are attentive and respond to any issues straight away . The food is plentiful and although typically Spanish in style and not to everyones taste, there is something for everyone so no need to go hungry. We found the buffet evening meal to be better than some of the 5* hotels we have stayed in and the food was hot and topped up regularly, rather that filled to start with and left. We had a double superior room on 5th floor, and it was great, very spacious , clean and with plenty of hot water any time of day. The air conditioning was good and welcome at night. The upstairs bar could do with being open during the day to accommodate sun bathers, but this was not a major problem. The courtesy service of a room to shower and change in on day of departure is excellent and not rushed, well worth booking. We have already booked our next visit.
Tranquility
I visited this hotel in August. The views across the ocean and sound of the waves crashing on the shoreline were phenomenal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I feel that this hotel undersells itself. Its very close to golfing facilities and even if you're not a golfer yet, they have an excellent coach at Golf del Sur and its very good value. The spa facilities at the hotel are fantastic. Unlike most saunas, which are dark little boxes, this one has a massive window which overlooks the ocean and a there is a free gym, too. The food is standard buffet stuff, so not so great, but tasty enough and plenty of choice. It's a quiet resort, but it's very easy to reach Americas or Christianos by bus or taxi. The bus service on the island is great. The lovely fishing village of Los Abrigos is a ten minute walk away along the shoreline. To cap it all, it's such a friendly island. I agree with the previous review with regard to lost revenue. I will definitely return to this hotel, though.
Finally a place for total relaxation
Wow! We decided to finally try a last minute deal but feared that all that was left would be the 'undesirables' and we were happily wrong. Everything was great - Room, Pool, Spa, Food, Service. We got a much needed rest. We would return in a heartbeat!
Nice but quite
We have just spent two weeks at this Hotel with our 7 and 9 year old daughters. Hotel room was very big and clean with plasma TV`s . Beds were very hard and not very comfortable though. Other downside was we were on the side of the hotel near a noisey bar which did not close until 3am. Food and staff were excellent. Entertainment very low key with the odd game of bingo. Hotel is situated on a very windy part of the island with nearly a chair blown into the pool but nice views and a walk at the back of the hotel. There is a chill out bar upstairs on the verrander, but only open part of the week, counted many people comming up and only to go away as there were no bar person available. Lost revenue opportunities!!! Small corrections could make this a great hotel.
Golf del Sur region
Subject: Golf del Sur, Tenerife Location: Golf del Sur, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, Europe Title: Vinncci Hotel Tenerife ID#: 8248696 We travelled to Golf del Sur on 30th June 2007 from Dublin and arrived at Reina Sofia airport at about 7.00pm. There was no trouble in getting a taxi and it cost 12 euros to go to our hotel in Golf del Sur. This hotel has been completely gutted and refurbished to a very high standard. All the rooms seem to have a sea view and we found the noise of the sea at night very relaxing. The safe in the room is free and broadband can be bought for 7 euros per 24 hours. All rooms have flat screen TV and satellite. Rooms are cleaned daily. The pool area is pleasant and beds are plentiful except at weekends when there is an influx of locals from the north of the island. There is a 5foot pool and a babies pool. There is also a fully equipped free gym and a not free massage and beauty salon. Food, especially breakfast is very good and although the evening meal is a bit different from home it was impossible to come out hungry. The one downside is that the hotel and surrounding area is very very quiet - not for teenagers. New building is taking place but is not a problem. Neither is the airplane noise. Avoid the electrical goods shops unless you know exactly what you want and the approximate price. Be careful that the item is a known brand and not "sounds like a known brand" Good bus service to Playa de Las Americas and bus stop is only 500metres from hotel. Very cheap too. Drivers will not accept/change a 20 euro note. Shopping centre nearby has a good selection of shops and restaurants.
lovely hotel
We stayed at this hotel in June and loved it. It was modern, stylish, clean and comfortable. Our rooms were also stylish, clean and comfortable, with a fabulous view of the sea. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was plain but well cooked, with terrific salads as you would expect. It is a Spanish owned hotel so the influence is Spanish. The only complaint about the food was at breakfast, in the land where they grow oranges, the orange juice at breakfast was packet, and not very nice. Poolside was clean with very comfortable loungers. It was quiet when we were there so no problem getting one, but perhaps when it's busier, it might be a little more difficult. The one problem we found was sunbathing. The hotel sits on a promontary, facing the sea, so it can be very windy, and being near the mountains, which build up their own cloud cover it can also be cold, unfortunately. Away from the sea it is fine, warm enough. The area around the hotel is still being built up, as a golf resort, so not many walks, and not much in the way of night life. A few o.k. restaurants, but nothing special. When they have finished in a couple of years I think it will be much better. There is a nice cliff walk at the back of the hotel runs right round the promontary, very pleasant to stretch your legs during the day or in the early evening. There is a short break in the flagstones of about 50 yards or so, but it's easily negotiated, even if you have a mobility problem, but it is steep in several places, but worth it for the sensational views. I wouldn't really recommend it late at night, unless you are in a mixed party as there are not many lights, so not very wise for Women on their own. Having said that I never felt uneasy while I was there. The hotel is only about 5 miles from the airport, so if you arranged the trip youself, get a taxi from the Airport, it's acutally cheaper than arranging transfers. It can be quite dramatic watching the planes come in to land, but there is very little noise, all the rooms face out to sea and are well soundproofed, so aircraft can only be heard from the terrace and even then only occasionally, and on take off. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would have no hesitation about going back, it was so much better than our last holiday in Play de Las Americas.
Already planning our next trip!
We stayed at the Vincci for the last week in June 2007 and absolutely loved it. The first thing I noticed upon arrival in reception was the beautiful & contemporary decor and excellent standard of cleanliness. The staff were extremely polite and have excellent people skills. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the 3rd floor overlooking the sea, on a B&B basis. Having read some of the mixed reviews on here prior to travelling, there were seeds of doubt planted in my mind as to whether I had made the right choice, particularly regarding the food. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning, and there is an excellent variety to cater for all tastes & needs all served buffet style. We only encountered one slight problem with the room during our stay when the patio door to our balcony wounldn't lock. Having reported it at reception on our way out for an evening meal, we had just got into a taxi when my girlfriend had to nip back to the room, only to discover that the maintenence staff were already attending to our problem. This must of been a response time of about 2-3 mins! The location is also excellent with enough restaurants, bars and shops locally to keep you entertained without making the journey to the hustle & bustle of Las Americas. Also, it does tend to be alot windier in this resort than further down the island, but you get used to this after a couple of days. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone.................... and i'm already planning my next trip!
Loved It!!!!!
We have recently returned from the Vincci Tenerife Golf Design Hotel in Golf Del Sur.The hotel was immaculate, when we arrived at the hotel the receptionist who was both approachable and kind told us that we had been upgraded to a superior room. The pool area was immaculate, there were large double sun loungers and Single POSH sun loungers.Beach towels are provided By the hotel. The room was enormous it had two bedrooms both with double beds and the main room also had a double sofa bed.The meals where delicious and there was a wide range of foods. The local bars, resturants and shops were within walking distance of the front of the hotel. There was a state of the art gym and Beauty treatments available charges applyed. This hotel is fabulous and we would recomend it to everyone.
Not Playa de las Américas
I really don't understand the negative reviews of this hotel's food. Were there not enough chips and mushy peas? The hotel is in SPAIN and is part of a Spanish chain so it seems reasonable that one should expect to eat a certain amount of Spanish style food. It may not be to everyone's liking but to say that it's awful is really misleading. It's buffet style and I found it varied and of good quality. I'd like to know where you've had better.
