The hotel is well situated with all rooms having sea views. We stayed in mid December when the hotel was not full and found it relaxing. The first four days had only one baby in the hotel.
The food, whilst not piping hot, was good and plenty of choice. The dishes may not be to everyone's tastes but there was always lots of salads and fruit too. Meals were self service buffet style.
A family with "free range" children were let loose on the buffet and soon had food split all over the floor. Why do parents of the under 10's not accompany their children to select food? It baffles me. The staff were very quick to clear up the spillages but they too must have been annoyed.
No sun bed rage whilst we were there which was good. A few double sun beds on the upper floor of the sunbathing area were an interesting addition with proper mattresses. The hotel was well run but the only complaint I had was the cost of the spa.
Whilst we had it to ourselves, we each paid 25 Euros for strictly one hour and pre booked the sauna and steam room. The sauna was barely warm enough to break sweat and parts of the spa itself looked rather neglected.
Pity really as it let the rest of the hotel down slightly. All in all, very good value, apart from the spa, which I think was privately run.

This is definitely a hotel that has pulled up it's socks. We had a 9th floor suite with 2 bedrooms and a lounge. The cleanliness was fine (even if we found something left by previous occupants!) The maid came every day and was polite. It was a general feeling that although we were Brits (and in the minority) we had the same attention as Spanish, French and Germans.
Food in restaurant was most acceptable especially as our 7 and 10 year olds wanted to experiment with new flavours. There was definitely a bit of everything. Fresh each day and very edible. We used the pool on most days and found it easy to get a lounger with mattress and beach towel (FREE and clean each time!) However because of the wind that can come in off sea some days, parasols could not always be used.
Definitely need a car if you want more than the laziest of holidays: there are not many shops nearby. Best used as a base camp. Having just read the report saying 'waves crashing too loud' feel I have to say IT IS ON A CLIFF TOP. This is what you will hear! Do go, it is 4* and a bargain at the price.
P.S. if you find the scratch card touts in the larger resorts approach you, just walk away. IT'S A CON

I visited for a week and found the hotel very pleasant and relaxing and definitely suitable for over 40's.
Younger people may find it useful to use it as a base and then go on to the rowdier places such as Playa De Las Americas and Los Cristianos.
Supermarkets (Netto) and other shops on the Parade and plenty of eateries/bar to the front of the Parade.
Full refurb on the hotel so everything was new; the cleaning staff didn’t speak much English but were very pleasant and helpful; reception and catering staff really nice.
I am considering going again this year.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! The food was disgusting and the eating area was very dirty. The food appeared to have been left out for days and was cold.
We paid to go all inclusive, selected drinks were free only until 10:00pm, which was the time that the entertainment started. The entertainment was terrible, the first night we were there it was a fashion show trying to sell jumpers!
The room was dirty when we arrived with sand on the floor obviously from the previous people who had been in our room.
On the second night there was a fire on the ground floor. We were staying on the seventh floor and were only aware of the fire when smoke came pouring through the door and somebody knocked the door and shouted fire! There was no fire alarm going off!
The staff were unhelpful when we complained and did not speak very good English. We ended up moving hotels and got no money back from Sunstar Leisure for our dreadful, very expensive holiday.
Needless to say we would never return to the Golf Hotel!

Hotel staff very friendly. The rooms are clean and well kept, but all have not got full sea veiws, we were looking out at a new complex being built with workmen starting at 7am. Food very repetitive and uninteresting, most of the time cold. Over all the standard of the hotel was nowhere near 4 star it was just about 3 star.

Accommodation very good, one double bed, 2 twin beds and a bed in the lounge. If you have a balcony overlooking the sea, it can be very noisy as the waves break on the rocks and amplify into the room. Reception area not very elaborate but clean and the staff very friendly. Pool area small with limited amount of sunbeds and not enough mattresses to go on the beds. Dining area looks out on to main entrance so people can see you eat as they walk by. The food is extremely poor and the selection is dreadful and often cold. Entertainment very poor with only two nights out of five with acts. I would not have rated this hotel as 4 star and would say it would be hard pushed to reach 2 stars.
