Warning - this must be the worst hotel in Marmaris

the Owner and his son were extremlky obnoxious to a number of guests while we were there and even refered to them as "stupid english" - this was their reply to us (and others) asking for new towels, linen and toilet paper.

it was near the end of the season as such, but the bar was not stocked and all 'games', Music (apart from a radio in turkish), TV were padlocked away and they totally refused to unlock them.

The pool (& pool area) was not cleaned for the week we were there and the pool even went green after 4 days so you couldn't use it even if you wanted to - the owner would only shrug his shoulders when asked about it !

This hotel must be the most basic hotel in marmaris (basic even by Turkish standards)

Albatross apartments were a complete waste of money with the most obnoxious owners i have ever met.

My family and friends have just spent a fortnight there and couldn’t wish for a better holiday, as being disabled with walking difficulties I took my mobility scooter. They looked after me and my friends, the staff were brilliant, couldn’t do enough for us.

The food was excellent, rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The cleaner was brilliant always happy, friendly and smiling. The bar staff were the nicest people you could wish to meet. Would like to thank them all and look forward to seeing you all again in May.

The Albratros was superb, very clean, and the staff very friendly.

It is a family run place, and is tucked away in a little cul-de-sac, noone walks past unless they are staying there.

The pool was large and loads of sunbeds, no Germans putting towels on them.

Very nice apartment, great location, not to near or far from the hustle and bustle of Marmaris, friendly owners. Food at hotel 7/10 the albatross special 9/10. If you want pie and mash for a change and proper chips try Sally’s of Bolton, turn right out of albatross and walk straight 3 mins walk, its fab.

The restaurants and bars that hassle you is getting worse, we wont be going back to Turkey until they stop it as you go away to chill out, not to keep explaining why you don’t want to eat etc. but still a very good hotel, nice pools, nice location, nice staff, what more could you want?

Turkey is a great place to go with wonderful helpful people. I stayed in Albatross 2 Apartments with one of my friends A Carruthers and her mum and step-dad.

The apartments are very clean and kept very tidy. The manager there - Sukru - was very friendly and helpful and looked after us during our stay there.

The pools are kept in good condition and are pleasant to be in. There are many things to do in Turkey and many things to see. A couple of my small favourite local pubs are, Rainbow Bar - This is a small outdoor karaoke bar next to Albatross 2 Apartments serving drinks and food, very friendly staff. Raindrop - You can find this bar on the way to the beach, it is about a 10 minute walk from Albatross.

September Bar/Restaurant - This is just basically round the corner from Albatross 2 Apartments - Very friendly people in here - great time - me and my friend spent a lot of time in this restaurant as the people are fun to speak to - I would definitely recommend their fishbowls.

My favourite bars along the beach front were, Bar-X - Definitely full of nightlife in here - Great Music - Great Atmosphere.

Beach Club - In here it is quite big - They have big swings indoor on which you can sit during the night - And a big step thing at the back where you can get up and dance. Salt 'N' Pepper - It is quite alright in here apart from the drinks are a little bit pricey.

On one of our Saturdays there we went on a bar crawl down bar street with "My Travel" all the reps were very friendly and fun to be around. You get a T-shirt to wear and in each bar you get a free shot. Clubs we visited were; Greenhouse, Backstreet, Crazy Daisy, Unique, Joy.

Unique is a massive night club with an open roof so that you can see the stars and sky. But Joy has to be the best bar of all; I would highly recommend this Club to anyone.

The shops and market are great for clothes and jewelry etc. although you have to bargain with them to get a decent price as in many places the prices are quite expensive.

I would like to go back to Turkey next year again as I extremely enjoyed this holiday.

We stayed in the Albatros apartments as we wanted a cheap and lively holiday in Marmaris. The apartments were okay (just somewhere to sleep though really but they were clean and the cleaners came everyday. We were situated about 5 mins away from the Centre which we had to get the dolmus which was 1 lira (about 40p) each way.

If you are looking for cheap beer then Marmaris bar street is not the place to go. I think the price must have gone up since the whole bird flu scare because it wasn’t cheap at all, we were paying about 10 pounds for 2 bottles of beer, which is actually more expensive than England! But if you can drink the Turkish beer it’s a lot cheaper, it’s called Efes but I tried it and I thought it was too strong tasting! Not nice, also be careful if you order fish because they may serve it to you with everything still in tact, fins and everything!

As we were staying a little out the centre we had drinks closer to our hotel most nights because it was so much cheaper, plus it felt safer too because as two girls the Turkish men did tend to follow us round a lot. Wouldn’t recommend two girls going as I didn’t feel safe.

I would definitely recommend the excursions though, the lazy day cruise was great for sun worshippers and also the Turkish bath is a must, but again if its two girls it can be a bit iffy.

If you don’t like people trying to get you into places all the time, also not the place to go. the season isn't very long in turkey and they have to make last what they have in the summer season right through the winter, you cant walk down the street without someone saying how beautiful you are and trying to get you to come in for food or into there shop or to (most commonly) book excursions. People say that once you have got a tan they calm it down, but in our case they definitely didn’t!

If you don’t like cliff edges don’t go, I hate them. The coach drivers don’t drive really fast but they don’t drive slow either. If you go to Marmaris the only way in and out from the airport is cliff edge roads and they are very scary! Some parts don’t even have barriers and I really didn’t like that!! But in all fairness I think I was the only one on the coach that was scared, bit of a wimp really!

Make sure you go to Cleopatra Island as well because there is no white sand in Marmaris and if you want some then you have got to go there because the sand is white and the water is really, really clear.

I have been to Spain and Greece and a few other place before and never been bitten by mosquitoes but here I was using the spray and still getting bitten so make sure you buy some cream for bites before you go as the one you buy there really didn’t work well!

I cant say a bad word about the Albatross apartments though because the pool was the biggest i had seen while dropping other people off and they also have a pool bar for snacks and stuff which wasn’t too expensive and the staff were really, really friendly.

The indoor shopping centre which is near the harbour was very confusing as everything in there looks the same there are 100's of shops with a man outside every one trying to tempt you in, it was okay though and eventually you always find your way out as its like a maze! Brilliant for fake stuff though if you can be bothered to try stuff on that is!

I enjoyed Marmaris and had a good time even if it was more expensive than we thought. Excursions are well worth the money though and a Turkish bath is like 4pounds and the day cruise is 5pounds, just the drink and supermarket food that’s a bit on the steep side. For a meal out you’re looking at about 20 lira for a meal which is about 7 pound or something but the food is nice.

The weather is really hot and humid but there is a breeze so its nice and we went in June so cant imagine what its like in July August, hot I imagine!

The apartments where very clean and well set out. All of the staff especially the manager where all very friendly and happy to help with and queries or problems. The pool area is a very safe place to be and

the 2 large pools are clean and refreshing after sunbathing. There are 2 small pools the young children. There was no real problem getting sunbeds as long as we didn’t stay in bed past 1 as I found out on my first day. The main nightlife is about a 10-minute bus journey and the beachfront where some of the smaller clubs and pubs are is only a 10-20 minute walk. If you are aged around 15-30 and looking for a good night within walking distance you are best going to bar-x, salt and pepper and the beach club.

These are all situated along the beach front. The more lively places are on bar street, which is a bus away. I would recommend going to Joy and Crazy Daisy. My travel does a bar crawl which was the highlight of my holiday we went to 5 bars on bar street and received a free shot in each, we played allsorts of games in each bar. The only down side to bar street is it is a bit on the expensive side.
