My husband and I went to the Jebel Ali Hotel and Golf Complex for our honeymoon in November 2007. Being a keen golfer, my husband thought this the ideal location to relax and unwind after a hectic wedding and he was correct. From the moment we arrived in Dubai, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was luxurious, the staff attentive and friendly, the food was fantastic, weather hot and the golf course was first class.
There are a number of restaurants on site to eat out in the evening, all top class food, the pools were relaxing with swim up bar and our room was very comfortable with a fantastic view over the golf course/bay and with the peacocks roaming.
There were lots of excursions on offer from the hotel including shopping at the Mall of the Emirates which is retail heaven and a nights racing at Nad al Sheba Racecourse, all very reasonably priced.
We really enjoyed our week stay at the Jebel Ali and hope to go back soon. We could not recommend it enough.

I travelled to Dubai with my Mother as a surprise for her 50th birthday; we only stayed at Jebel Ali for 3 nights which wasn't really long enough.
I have travelled quite a bit and I must say the only disappointment was the room. It certainly was not 5 stars; it was small, dated, and a little shabby.
We arrived at night so I felt a little let down and went to sleep wishing I had picked another hotel.
Morning broke and I opened my tired thread bare curtains (black outs which I guess were a plus) and there it was...the spectacular 5 star grounds. We cheered up and headed for breakfast. The food was great, hot and cold buffet and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The grounds really do out way the sub standard rooms, I mean how long do you really spend in your room anyway?? The beach is superb and you feel like you’re are on a Caribbean island, just squint and you won't see the cranes!
The hotel is about 35 mins from the city centre which we were glad of as we didn't fancy staying on a building site.
Overall we had a fantastic time; I would definitely go back to Jebel Ali as the resort itself is beautiful...
One more thing...we did a 4x4 desert tour which was great, we were picked up around 2.30pm, taken to the desert for some "off roading" bumpy driving and had various stops to see the sunset, camels etc. Afterwards we had dinner in the dunes with entertainment and buffet food which was edible, although check the meat is cooked...great fun!!

Dubai was an amazing place to go on holiday. We stayed in Jebel Ali resort for four nights which wasn't enough. It was beautiful; the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
The rooms were lovely and the food was delicious. We eat in the resort two nights and tried other hotels the other two nights, they were also fantastic.
During or stay we visited the 7 * hotel Burj al Arab which was amazing - you must have afternoon tea on the top floor!! I can't wait to go back.

A stunning five star hotel just 20 mins from Jumeirah beach area. The advantage of this meant no building work could be seen.
Seven restaurants in total which are also shared with the palm tree court hotel. Loads of facilities including an elemis spa and professional golf course where many major tournaments are played.
Taxis from here into Dubai city centre are 15.00 for a 45 minute journey and the hotel also runs a free shuttle service into the city centre, which also stops off at different shopping malls on route.
Overall a lovely hotel, really lovely surroundings and would recommend especially for honeymooners.

We had a lovely week in Dubai in February, very relaxing and away from the building work which is currently overshadowing some hotels within Dubai. The only slight let down to the trip was the standard of the hotel.
We picked the Jebel Ali thinking it would be away from the mass of skyscrapers currently being built (which it was), and still give us the luxury of a 5 star Dubai hotel.
Although the grounds are superb and the daytimes passed wonderfully, the hotel itself was not up to scratch. The rooms are in need of an upgrade (seeing as its rated as a 5 star hotel), the restaurants I would rate as average, and the service levels and friendliness of staff was not a patch on the standard I have experienced at the other 5 star hotels I have stayed in Dubai (Jumeriah Beach Hotel, The Royal Mirage, Mina Al Salam).
The breakfast dining experience is not to the level you would expect at a 5 star hotel. The choice within the buffet was good, but finding a table was not easy without having to wait, the room is dark and dingy (unless you're one of the few people that manage to sit in the window), and the waiter service was poor.
On the positive side the surroundings outside are beautiful, there are really nice pools - a choice of 3 (although 1 was closed for the whole of our stay...but pleased to see it was for refurbishment), my husband loved the golf course, the spa is at a high standard with some great treatments, and there were quite a lot of families there so seemed like a lot for kids to do within the sports centre.
If you get a good deal to stay at the Jebel Ali, and are not expecting the usual luxury of 5 star Dubai, you certainly won't be disappointed within the surrounding grounds and if you're a golfer or a spa lover....this could be an ideal place for you. Personally if I had to choose I would rather pay a few hundred pounds more to get the 100% luxury treatment you can get elsewhere.

Just returned from one of the best holidays every. Dubai is a very interesting destination despite all the building work. The Jebel Ali is an excellent resort away from most of the work. Standards are excellent and if you are lucky (as we were) the hotel may offer a cheap upgrade to stay in the Palm Tree Court suites (£20 per night in stead of £100+) would highly recommend and will be returning to Dubai next year

I stayed at Jebel Ali for 5 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel was great - by far the best hotel i have ever stayed in. I stayed in a junior suite and the beach was less than a minute walk away from my room. The breakfast was delicious and worth getting up for early in the morning. It was 5 days of luxury but due to the short stay in Dubai i wasn't able to appreciate everything the hotel had to offer. For those thinking about staying at this hotel bare in mind eventhough its a great hotel it is quite far from the main attractions and if you up for a lot of sight seeing then you may be better with a hotel more central - taxis are expensive and traffic horrendous.
