We went to Reethi Beach on our Honeymoon, and weren't disappointed.
It is only list as 4*+, but it was a stunning location, fantastic resort and a stunning holiday.
It is about 40 minutes from Male to Reethi Beach by sea plane, but that itself is an experience everyone should try.
Nestled amidst lush vegetation and shaded by graceful palm trees, Reethi Beach opened its doors on 2. Nov. 1998.
Its unique local architecture blends with the natural beauty of the island creating an eco-friendly environment.
Surrounded by uninhabited islands, Reethi Beach offered us a unique opportunity to discover those islands, as they are exclusively held by Reethi Beach.
The people were fantastically friendly, and the resort was perfect.
The resort has three restaurants, (but only one for all inclusive) a swimming pool, private piece of beach for each guest, and loads of activities to do such as scuba diving, snorkelling, tennis, wind surfing or canoeing.
It was a bargain! Can't wait to go back, I highly recommend it, especially the fish feeding at 6.00pm!

We went during rainy season as part of our honeymoon trip and it must have rained once for a couple of hours and that was it! The rest of the time it was paradise.
All the staff were so friendly/ helpful and funny - they could not have been nicer!
I agree the shop was a tad expensive but lovely and as we were AI, we didn’t spend a penny on anything else so bought a few things, although it is handy to know most things will be available as you fly out, and will be much cheaper.
The fruit bats in the trees were so cute and calming ... and the apartment we had on stilts in the middle of the sea was just a dream come true!
Neither I nor my husband (who is super sporty) got even slightly bored once! The night fishing was great fun - especially when we got to eat what we had caught!
The best place in the world to visit I think! Could easily do 2 weeks there without getting bored.

A brilliant resort with the nicest people we have met so far whilst on vacation. Everything ran smoothly from beginning to end. We were met at the airport by a Kuoni rep. Your tickets are taken on arrival so that departure can be confirmed. We were escorted to our sea plane. This is one of the best ways to transfer as you get to see the Islands from a brilliant birds eye view.
The sea plane is quite loud however ear plugs are provided which I thought was quite thoughtful. The journey is about 30mins from the airport unless the plane stops to drop off passengers to resorts on the way the Reethi Beach. Sea planes cannot land too close to the resort so you are dropped off about 20metres off shore then a boat arrives to pick you up. Once we arrived at the resort we were given a nice cold drink and a cold towel. The Kuoni rep had a quick chat and told us that she will be doing a welcome meeting that evening. We were escorted to our room which was the standard beach villa. Accommodation was a little dated however it was clean, had air con, TV, fridge and safe. We also got a basket of fruit because we were on our honeymoon.
The bathroom is quite big. The beech was only 4 metres from our room. Standard accommodation is better than the deluxe villas because they are situated near the coral (ideal for snorkeling) and much more private than the other side of the Island (ideal for sunbathing) Reception is open 24/7 and always fast and efficient with service. All excursions are displayed on a board so you know what’s available throughout your stay. We went night fishing which is a brilliant experience especially when I caught a big fish. You can eat the fish you catch if you wish. It cost around $15 per person. The glass bottom boat trip isn’t really worth $20 each its better to go snorkeling. Would strongly advise you to buy a snorkel, goggles, and fins from your own country as it costs $14 for a day and $100 if you want to buy them there.
Reethi beach is fantastic for snorkeling you would most likely want to go more than once. There are other water sports however can be quite expensive. Fish feeding takes place at 6pm everyday. You must see this its amazing. You get stingrays, sharks and other small fishes who come to eat. You are literally a meter away from them. The souvenir shop is quite well equipped with snacks however quite pricey so take your own gum, mints, chocolates and crisps etc.
Always barter you will get a discount (we did) Food is really nice we found it difficult to finish a meal each so we would order one meal and share. There is a main restaurant which serves buffet lunch and dinner but its quite expensive $16 for lunch and $29 for dinner. We would recommend that you go BB because you can choose to eat in any of the restaurants. If you go HB or FB you can only eat at the main restaurant and drinks are limited. Everything has a 10% service charge even the water! If you are Muslim you will be happy to know that all the meat is halal.
Rooms are cleaned twice a day. We rarely saw mosquitoes as the island is fumigated before dark. Weather was great. We did go during the end of the monsoon season so there was rain on some days and during the night. However it did not spoil our holiday. The sky TV kept us company whilst is was raining. To sum it up. The resort was brilliant, the staff were lovely, helpful and polite. We would definitely go again.

We had a lovely time-everything was perfect. There were no mosquitoes that I could see and we were over the water.
The staff were very helpful but unobtrusive. Food was great-a lot of choice at each meal time. The drink choice that was available on all inclusive was vast . You could do as little or as much as you wanted to (I chose the lazy option!) . We spent the whole time that we were there not having to wear shoes-bliss!
The only thing that could be said to mar the whole experience was the long haul Monarch flight from the UK which appeared to be a throwback to the 80's with one TV per 10 rows etc. Would thoroughly recommend this resort to anyone.

Fabulous!!
We went during the so called rainy season and to be honest I think it rained for about 4 hours on one day while we were there, the rest of the time it was paradise.
The staff could not be friendlier, each night when we went to the bar, the bar staff remembered us and kept aside a lovely ocean view table for us. The staff are mainly from the Far East, I have never been made to feel as welcome anywhere in the world! Our restaurant waiter Falile and bar waiter Faisel were outstanding!!
Only thing to be aware of is that the gift shop there is very expensive, about £18 for sun tan lotion, £20 for cheap fake sunglasses etc. Make sure you take mosquito repellent with you as we got bitten very badly and had to go to the onsite doctor, who was again very nice but had never seen bites so bad.
Accommodation first class, the holiday can be as relaxing or adventurous as you like, with scuba diving, snorkelling, wind surfing and many other activities but bring plenty of books.
There is plenty of food to choose from, always plenty of lovely fish, vegetarian options and theme nights / days e.g. Mexican, Indian, Italian, spannish etc. All delicious.
Every main line spirit you could think of as well as beers like Tiger etc. I think the hotel has a half board option but I would advise against it as the drinks are very expensive, would normally be about £6 for a beer. We went all inclusive and was well worth the extra few hundred pounds.

We went quite late in May and were expecting this to be the rainy season, think it rained once, maybe twice but who cared on this beautiful island, we kicked our shoes of on arrival and didnt put them back on again until the journey home, I would recommend this to any one. Loved the sea plane journey to the island, what an experience that is. Reethi is only a small island, at one point if you stand in the middle you can see the sea both sides, you can walk around it in about 20 minutes, but to us it was a little bit of heaven, we upgraded to the luxury bungalows but to be honest it really doesnt matter because for the time you spend in them, its irrelevant, and the normal ones are just as good. Staff were brilliant, our bungalow was right next to the Beach Bar and it was wonderful to just sit at the bar late in the afternoon and watch the sun go down, nice cold drink in hand!!! Restuarant was fine no problems with the food, plenty of choice and you had your own waiter who was assigned to your table, so helpful and courteous, really cannot fault this place, we did eat at the Moodho Bar a couple of times and the food there is exquisite, also do a great pizza if you fancy a change at lunchtimes, must be tried! There is a pool, which was kept immaculate also a little bar to use in the pool area, so all in all if you want to just completely chill, this is the place to do it in!!!
