Big, beautiful, and friendly

"Domina was the biggest resort I have ever stayed at, and I loved it!

Lots of choice, beautiful buildings, great accommodation, and great food.

It felt very secure with lots of security, transport to, and around the complex was plentiful and easy.... little "Taff Taff" buses take you around the resort.

There are different areas of the resort that you can stay at with different themes. We stayed in the Sultan, which suited very well for a young couple. There were more expensive, family orientated, or luxury areas which gives you great choice and I'd love to go again and try out the Salt Lake or Harlem areas.

The only downsides were the mosquitos- I've never been bitten before, but they really were a problem on this trip for me, and for several other ladies I met so I would advise caution there.

If you go you have to try the snorkelling! It was a bit daunting at first, but amazing and well worth trying!

Not that good!

"Arrived at the airport and the taxi that we booked with the hotel did not show up. However we got to the hotel which is on a massive resort. Room was nice, staff are very friendly. The double bed was actually two singles with mattress turned crossway's, very poor.

No information supplied in the room as to what services were available, room service information etc. etc. Things that you would expect at a Blackpool boarding house!

The Prestige claims to have a private beach and two heated swimming pools, it does have a private beach which is a five minute walk down the hill, not so good for the elderly unless you make use of the free golf cart service. It does have two pools but not heated!

The private beach is next to the departure point for the diving boats and the boats have little concern for those snorkeling off the walkway its an accident waiting to happen.

We paid the half board supplement which gives access to 9 restaurants, avoid the Nautilus, the steak grill, the piazza and the kebab house. The steak grill and the piazza were the pits! However Plaisers restaurant was exceptional both for evening meal and breakfast and again the staff were exceptional. Most other places the staff were friendly just the food quality was poor which was a shame because they really promote their organic farm and use of organic vegetables.

The worst part was checkout which took 40 minutes! When we booked via internet the room rate was 120 euros a night, we paid in full on arrival however on checkout we were charged extra for the last 4 nights because of currency fluctuation!!

Not the 5 star experience we expected, resort is overall about a 3 star. Food 3 star (Plaisers restaurant 4+ star) the Prestige hotel 3 star. The staff overall are very hard working and pleasant and make the resort a better place than it is.

We went for a fortnight and would probably not go back unless a cheap deal came up for some winter sun.

wouldn't go there again

"Room could have been nice if kept cleaner - food was awful - like being back at schoold dinners - lots of drunken russians - tried to move but as we were only there for a week it didnt happen. Been to other resorts in Egypt this was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in."

Truly Amazing

"We stayed at the Domina Prestige early September 2007.

The Service from all Staff members were more than excellent. They catered for any request we made and did so with the upmost care and efficiency.

The Hotel itself is incredible. Beautifully maintained gardens and cleaniness overall was excellent. The Resort has its own farm and grows practically everything it can to serve fresh to you.

We stayed Bed and Breakfast and found the food incredible. Although slightly costly, you can find all varieties of foods within the resort so no need to travel out for evening meals.

The resort offers great evening entertainment and all many excursions can be booked direct from any of the receptions. The Spa and Diving centres are truly excellent with views over the sea from the gym and the diving centre offering all courses for all types of people and levels. I highly recommend diving...!

When staying at the Prestige, you will have unlimited access to the club car service, meaning you can be taken too and picked up from anywhere within the resort. (considering its approx 15-20min walk from one side to another, this is a good service).

You also get unlimited access to the Turkish outdoor baths and Jacuzzis. Also theres a private beach for the Prestige guests and your own private pools and restaurant.

All in all - we are definately returning here next year without doubt...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to Couples......

This hotel was spot on!

"This hotel was abolutely brilliant. I had been to Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh three times in the past, and each time had stayed at a 5 star hotel, but after visiting the coral bay prestige, nothing else even remotely compares! The hotel is massive, yes, but the facilities were very impressive and the grounds were immaculate. The hotel actually had three swimming pools floating in the sea! Furthermore, a massive Casino, (where I had raked in nearly £3,000)!!, and a huge array of ammenities. There were more restauraunts and food items than you would know what to do with, about 15 or 20 odd bars where all the drinks were premium brand ( e.g. fosters, martell, smirnoff etc etc), I really lost count! And the best part about it was the service, the staff would bend over backwards just to make you feel more accomodated. I would like to consider myself a well travelled man, but I must say, I felt like a kid in Disneyworld for the first time. My wife and I couldnt wipe the smiles off of our faces, we werejust gleaming with joy. This hotel is truly magnificent. Excellent place for anyone to go. Another thing I found was that not many travel agents in the Uk had this hotel, but Shaun at travelsoon has some kind of special contract rate which is pretty exclusive. We got an indredible bargain, two weeks for under £1000 each! So good we didnt want to come home!"

Worth a visit

"I have just returned from a week at the Domina Coral Prestige- very hot at this time of the year! The resort is like a small self contained village, about 10 mins and 50 pe from Naama Bay, but has all the amienities 'in-house'- a supermarket, souk, restaurants, bars and dive centre so really, you don't need to leave! The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly although they do seem to assume you already know your way around. An orientation is a good idea as it is a big resort. There are little buses that follow several routes and are very frequent or a Club car if you are staying at the Prestige. The only downfalls I think were that the 'multi media' tv wasn't working the whole week- no internet/paid films/radio etc and this is an ongoing problem apparently; they really need to have drinks waiters around the pools and beaches; some of the staff need to learn customer service and there is a lot of building work going on just along the beach which is noisy. Aside from that, the complex is well maintained, well run and the diving is amazing!"

Great, if big, resort

"We struggled to decided where to stay, having been to Sharm before, we knew we wanted to be on the beach with a jetty into the sea, rather than having to cross the main road to get there.

We were quoted on the Prestige by a travel agent, but the cost for two people, one week, was horrendous, £2760!! So we ended up booking the Aquamarine Pool hotel for over half that cost. But negotiated an upgrade direct with the hotel...

The Domina Coral Bay resort is huge, and houses about 6 or 7 different 'hotels'... The Oasis being the biggest and cheapest area..

The Prestige was I think the smallest area and allowed you access into anywhere on the complex, and allowed you to dine anywhere, without supplement, providing you were on the half board package. The service was first class. We had the pool to ourselves on a regular basis! We also had a golf cart to use 24/7... just ask at reception and within seconds a driver appeared to take you anywhere on the resort.. which was great, as it was a long walk in the heat! The upgrade also allowed you private car to and from the airport (although I will say that someone in the chain did not sort our upgrade, despite having emails, and we had to make our own way from the airport.... glad we had been before as we knew the ropes!!!)

It was well worth the extra money for the half board option. We dined in various outlets in the evening, and apart from the Oasis buffet, none were particularly crowded or busy.

The kebab house was great, the steak house good, and we can honestly say that if we had stayed in the cheapest Oasis area, the buffett that was included was great, and included free drinks too! (Although the white wine was warm and he could not find any that was cool).. Not particularly impressed with the fish restaurant, crabs were titchy, like you would find under a rock on the beach in the UK and the fish,,, mmm not sure...

Namma Bay was as ever in the evening, plenty to do, and I could not come home without having a beer in the Hardrock and one on the roof of the Camel Bar!!

Again, having been before you get an idea of where to go, what to do and what to pay!

We managed to get the taxi fare down to 20egyptian (£2 UK), from Namma Bay to our hotel!

And came home with a good selection of t shirts, none of which cost more that £2 each!!

If diving, I would thoroughly recommend the Red Sea Diving College. They are in Naama Bay, not far from the jetty where the dive boats are mored. They are a really nice bunch of people, many are english, and the are very professional and helpful. The boats the use are great and the food they prepare is excellent.

I did do a house reef dive at the Domina, but am sorry to say that the overall experience was not brilliant, the instructor Italian, and the house reef was no where near as pretty as that further down the coast at Middle Garden where the Hyatt is (and Red Sea Diving College have a site there too).. and it cost me around £40 for dive, bcd and regs!

So,,, overall impression,, Prestige Great, but unless you have loads of money, not sure I would pay the full amount asked for by travel agents. If you go on a budget and end up with Oasis and Aquamarine,, I dont think you would be disappointed.. you get what you pay for...

"This hotel is lovely and there is a five star restaurant beside prestige hotel. Food is excellent - although drinks are expensive here. The staff is all-excellent - they went out of their way every time we arrived at the restaurant and taught us some Arabic!

The pool is lovely and clean and the private beach was also very nice, every so often you get complimentary cool towels and melon juice and sparkling wine.

If you stay in Prestige you get unlimited access to the beach buggies which take you round the resort and drop you off anywhere you wish to go.

We ate out in most places while staying in the resort. The Manager at Coral Bay was also excellent - we went there a few times for breakfast, there was no melon left one day but he went to the next hotel and got it and brought it back for me.

There are shops that are above the casino, to be honest they are little shacks selling t-shirts and stuff. We went up a couple of times. I came across two men who owned these little shacks who were overly keen to rub massage oil into my arms - don't do this - they just want there hands to wander!!! They have nothing to do with the resort staff so I don’t think they are professional enough to be situated in a five star resort!!!

Went to the Casino a couple of times, which was good fun.

It is an Italian resort which was mostly Russian / Italian tourists!

There is taxi's that sit outside the main gates of the hotel, ask for Zoom Zoom, he will take you to anywhere you want to go. Definitely make a trip to Naama Bay, good nightlife for young and old. Overall lovely hotel and surrounding area - had a great time but probably wouldn’t go back - so many nice hotels would try something different! Only met one couple who spoke English and unfortunately they were leaving the next day!

"This hotel is a dream is loved every min the staff are very friendly and funny they made my stay. I work as a travel agent for Bookable holidays and was taken by Libra on a educational trip Libra could not do enough, I rate them very highly from other tour operators.

Out of all the hotels in the coral bay resort this is the best by far there all rated as 5 but they range against each other from 3-5 this ones the best in the resort prestige has its own golf cars to take you around so you don’t need to wait for the buses witch run every few min.

Everything you’ll need is in the coral bay resort you don’t really need to leave although I recommend going into Naama bay. The hotel has its own private beach where you are given towels, they come round with fruit drinks and by the pool they have buzzer buttons to order so you don’t even need to get up, very posh all facilities are open to you when staying in the prestige the only extra is any massages you may want to have.

The spa is opposite the hotel and you can see it, as is the beach just at the bottom of the shallow steeped hill. They have a sea water pool if you fancy a dip without going in the sea. The taxis from the town aren’t allowed in the coral bay resort the security is wonderful if you feel at all worried of Egypt its self at the moment they drop you off at the first gate and you walk to the second where you are met by the bus. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

2 Weeks at the Prestige

"Stopped at Domina Prestige for 2 weeks (26 Nov to 11 Dec 05).

The Prestige is the upper class of the Domina resort which sits at the quieter end of the Domina Resort some 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes taxi from Naama Bay.

The Prestige allows you access all areas and restaurents, with sole use of 2 pools at the Prestige Hotel, a Private Beach and free access to the Elisir Health area (Gym and Spa facilities). At this time of year the whole resort was very quiet, particularily the Prestige, less than 2 or 3 couples around either pool max, and a dozen on a busy day on the Prestige Beach area. The Resort was predominantly occupied by Russian or neighbouring country nationals, a number of Italians and a sprinkling of British, but again at this time of year no where within the resort was busy and the weather was superb 25 degrees plus! The recommendation for this resort would be to stay at the Prestige as it offers the best of the location even whilst quiet. A totally relaxing time was had, no pressures or hassle from staff who were extremely attentive and helpful without being intrusive.

Unforgettable place!

"We spent one week at the end of September in this Hotel and had what you call 'real holidays'...When we arrived at the airport a private car was waiting for us. The resort is located between the airport and Naama Bay and therefore recommended as being really safe and quiet! The service of the hotel was excellent, we had our private beach, private pool and free entrance to the spa, gym, night club and any restaurant of the resort. Prestige is the smaller but also the smartest hotel of the resort. Our room had sea view and was huge! facilities inside included jacuzzi bath, CD player, TV, complimentary fruit basket and water, mini bar, safe and poster king size bed! The room had also a lovely balcony in the aramic design style with an exceptonal view on the red sea! the room cleaning service was twice a day and room service was also very good....check out on the Domina website to find some photos (the reality is exactly like on the pictures!!!)...As the resort is quite big we had a private driver whenever we wanted! Each hour at the private beach or pool we received complimentary drinks (fruit juices, white wine, tea, etc) or fresh towels! we had also as many towels that we need everyday!...The snorkelling is also great with full of fishes and colourfull corals! the sea was really clear and enables us to take wonderful underwater pictures! We did two main excursions: snorkelling trip to Ras Mohamed National Park by boat (£25) and the Pyramids in Cairo by plane (£175). Seeing the pyramids was exceptional and we will definitively recommend it to anybodybefore leaving Egypt as it makes your trip so special!... We also went to the Old Sharm market twice during the week to go shopping and eat (much cheaper than in the resort or Naama Bay)! This was also a great experience and the using Egyptian taxis were really fun! We paid £3 each way to go there from the resort. The money currently used is the Egyptian pounds however they accept Euros, GBP and dollars. The food in the resort is good but as expensive as in London! the alcoholic drinks (incl. wine) are awful and very expensive!!! The only disapppointing things was that most of the employees in the resort mainly speak Italian or Russian and don't perfectly understand English....this can create some confusion! Except this we will definitively recommend this hotel to anyone (check out as the sea view rooms are usually often booked since ages!) and will be ready to go back!"

5* All the way

"Domina Prestige 5 * 100%

Spent a week at this hotel wish it could of been two.

First of all the room. Towles 2~3 times a day these are changed and room tidied ,bed turned down. Slippers & dressinggown proived. Fruit bowl, water chilled ready to greet you when you arrive at your room.

Rooms are big plenty of storage, 2 x sofas on balcony & table, table in room 2x chairs & sofa. Bathroom shower & bath (Wirlpool), 4 x Large towels 4 x hand towels 2 x face towels.

Private pool and private beach, towles provided on sun loungers.

While we were relaxing by the pool and on the beach cold face towels were bought to us every hour or so. Cold melon juice or sparkling wine were also served to us every hour or so at no extra charge what a service !

The spa is very good free entry to spa pools , this we could not miss arriving at 5.30 pm we lazyed about catching the last of the sun rays while sitting in hot whirlpools untill the moon came out what a way to unwind , soft music playing in the back groundand low lighting perfect.

The resterants are good in the resort but prices are quite high for egypt. We went into town some nights £3.00 each way in taxi Narma bay is great for a nigth out, all food types, bars shows, you name it , its there.

The hotel staff are great will do anything to help.

The hotel has club cars to take you around the resort so you can be very lazy. (I WAS)

There is a disco , drinks are very expensive.

We would go back to this hotel again one of the best in sharm, 5* all the way.

Beaches are wonderful , many fish on the reef to see, man made saltlake

with bar if you dont want to go to the beach.

This hotel is what you want it to be .
