Sheraton Lisboa Hotel

I stayed at the Sheraton Lisbon for one night earlier this month, and it was a pleasant experience. Some parts of it were great – some not so much. The location was absolutely great for my purposes – outside of the major noise and movement of the Baixo / Chiado and Bairro Alto, but just next door to a metro station that could take me to those areas within 10 minutes. I spent two nights at this beautiful modern hotel and I found it to be absolutely top notch. I have stayed at many top hotels in Europe, this one must be of the best in terms of size of room, service standard, facilities, etc. at an affordable price, when it comes to the room rate. But, yes, I had two breakfasts at 22EURO each which I found to be exorbitant given the quality of food served. The best thing that I liked was the view from my room. Everybody is raving about this hotel and this is why I chose it, but I can’t be that enthusiastic. Okay, it’s new and nicely decorated. The rooms are very well soundproofed and the staff is overall friendly and trying to be nice. But there are a few downsides: The first one is that when a hotel offers relatively cheap rooms you must be prepared to face overprice everywhere else in the hotel as they are trying to get back their money somewhere. Having stayed at the Sofitel and Le meridien in Lisbon on numerous occasions, and they are both excellent, i decided to try the newly refurbed Sheraton. I was not disappointed. Everything about this hotel impressed me. Very modern luxury rooms, pristine common areas, EXCELLENT spa, gym and pool area, excellent staff and the lobby bar and restaurant are top notch. An excellent place to stay, accessible by Metro and Bus. I will recommend this hotel for romantic holiday. (Regin Lagaac, Cambridge, UK).

While outside tourist area, there was lots to do and see around the hotel, and we found it easy to get around from the hotel to all the tourist spots. Staff was wonderfully helpful meeting all our needs and answering all questions with tolerance for our lack of knowledge. The Sheraton Lisbon is almost a W Hotel. It is a bit outside the city center but a taxi to Rossio is only €4,50. Service, staff, ambiente, rooms are excellent. We had a nice room at 19th floor with a stunning view on the Tejo bridge and the city. Club rooms are even higher located. The Deluxe room had a very cool marble bathroom. The spa is also very nice. Everything is still brandnew, even the elevators. I think it is the best choise at the moment.

We recently stayed at the Sheraton Lisbon for a long weekend and were very happy with our choice. The hotel is quite big and guests can move around unnoticed, which I personally like. The hotel underwent renovation early this year; all rooms are very modern, high-tech and well equipped (eg B&O flat screen on the wall). The bed was really comfortable with high quality bedclothes. We just returned from a stay in Barcelona and Lisbon. The stay in Lisbon was at the Sheraton. The hotel is away from the downtown, but there is a metro stop on the side of the hotel, so in 5 to 10 minutes you can be almost anywhere in the city that the metro serves. The Hotel is on the plush side, modern rooms in modern styles, with lots of amenaties. Again we were blessed with very skilled staff that made it unnecessary to know even basic Portuguese. Wow, what a find. The Sheraton Lisbon is one of the best Sheraton hotels I've visited. Was in Portugal on vacation with the girlfriend and damn did we love this hotel. Apparently the hotel has been recently renovated and the new style and design is impressive. The new furniture is stylish and modern and the lighting (on the floors, walls, and ceiling) creates a sensual mood.
