The resort is peaceful and beautiful you can just relax while your children play in a safe atosphere. The history of menorca is something visitors should look into there are ancient caves close to beaches the hole place is magical this was our second visit as we felt we had more to see. A busy night life would ruin the place boring people get bored, the people that have slated the place should stick to benidorm. There is a good bus service to get around and explore, lovely places to eat i have to say pedro at nauticals is wonderful this was a great place to eat and drink. Over all a wonderful place for those wanting a peaceful holiday seeped in beauty and history.

Very clean and well equiped appartments. staff were really friendly and helpfull. Restraunts, shops, supermarkets, pharmacy & beach within a very short walking distance. bus stop right outside. its not a ghost town at all, maybe in the months of october, november e.t.c
the only reason i gave the rating an 8 was because there is no air con, the weather was in the 90's and it was so hot and hard to sleep at night, there are 2 fans provided in the appartments but having air con would of made a big difference, other than that i would reccomend maribel avenidas apartments
thomas cook reps were really good and looked after us very well

Was impressed by the brochure picture and found when we got there it was better than expected. Appartment was spacious with large terrace more household items than i'd imagined, a mop, bucket, pots, pans, loads of utensils etcetc.... really well kitted out for a self catering holiday! Wasn't put off by the no oven issue as we never ate in the appt and spanish coffee is lovely so not put off by the lack of kettle! There was a microwave to heat water for a quick brew in the morning!! It was quiet but that was what we were looking for on holiday and it was coming up to end of season so very relaxing! I cannot fault the staff and people in general. They were so friendly and inviting, there is a relaxed attitude but that's what you want from holiday. The hotel staff were great they got rid of the three wasps nests on our terrace and got rid of the colony of ants that came afterwards!! Thing is I wasn't that bothered as it was something amusing to tell friends and family back home!!! The beach nearby was gorgeous and the bus service to the old city was excellent (15 mins every half hour or so). The bars and restaurants were great good local food with a good choice of English food also. All in all Im extremely happy with the Maribel and the resort itself and would move over there tomorrow(if I won the lottery!!)

i have just returned from 10 wonderful days at the maribel and have to say it was the most pleasant holiday i have taken so far. i took my teenage daughter and two young children who thoroughly enjoyed it too. Apartments were well equipped and nicely furnished and decorated throughout. Staff were wonderful, friendly and eager to assist all the time, often putting themselves out for us to enjoy our stay. They were wonderful with the children and i have to say the only downside to our stay was the lack of cleaning.Towels were changed once during th ten days but no other cleaning was done. The complex istself had a lovely pool a childrens pool, restaurant, shops and internet. Cala blanca is a small resort, quiet and pretty, with a lovely safe beach. PLenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance but only a few shops, mostly supermarkets. Cuitadella is only a ten minute bus ride away and only costs 1.40 each way.

we went as a group of 13, 7 adults 6 kids and loved every minute of it,the beach was 10mins walk, shops and bars 4 minutes wallk closest is 30 seconds accross the road, nice and friendly place, there was a bar which did karaoke in the main square which was ignorant, which will not let you sit down unless you buy a drink,we were only walking past and my wife felt tired with her shopping bag so we wanted a minute rest but they wont have it so we had a bit of a do,so we never once in 2 weeks there set foot in that place for that reason, but there are a few good places to eat and have a drink, try the chicken kebab its great also the curry dish,we have been to menorca five times now and cant call any of it only the pub which we said facing marible on the corner, the marible staff were very helpful and no complaints at all, cleaners twice a week, next door neighbours in complex were moaners wanted our children to be quite and didnt like them in and out of the pool but we are on holiday also so please thereselfs, everyone else was happy, water park in cala bosch was a great day out for the family,we are going again this year to menorca, would recommend cala blanca or binibecca, punta prima, cala bosch livelyer, binibecca quite with a few food and bar places, overall we like it and are looking to buy a villa there,

the maribel was great!!!!!!!! they had everything there, shops, bars, restaurants and arcade. the best restaurant and bar we went to was the 'Nautilus', the owners are really friendly and the service is great,we really enjoyed the food here it was the best by far.i relly recommend the 'Nautilus' if you want a great meal or a great night out.
Overall the Maribel hotel was a good choice for a holiday for us and we were really glad we went there, it's also not very far from the beach or city centre.

I went to Menorca with my partner and we stayed at these apartments. The people were very friendly and accomodation was adequate but basic. As many people have already commented, there is nothing to do at night and you find yourself wandering around aimlessly with other people doing the same thing until you decide that you may as well go to bed. We used to go to Ciutadella in the evening and its a beautiful place with great architecture and atmosphere but even the food here was very bland. I think the locals are trying to cater too much to English tastes. I for one do not want to eat fish and chips when I'm on holiday in a foreign place. Back at the apartments the food situation was no better, I like pizza but not so much as I want to eat it every night of the week. I think the alternative was the Menorcan Chinese (although I didn't feel quite that adventurous!). My partner and I argued constantly and this holiday was one of the reasons we are no longer together (but don't let that put you off!). Menorca itself is a beautiful island steeped in culture and tradition and some of the southern coastline is stunning.I had to come back on my own in 2006 to see the place without the added stress of a psychotic girlfriend and I stayed in a cheap B&B in Cuitadella which was fine for me but I would not go to Maribel Avenidas again.

When we arrived at 12:30am we had no water, milk ect but the bar manager gave us the last of their water which I found very nice of him. The apartments were very small and basic but clean.
It was like a ghost town for the whole week with 3-4 people sat at the bar every evening watching Eastenders and Coronation Street, with NO entertainment at all. The 5 other bars in the area were ok, and one even put on a kids disco for us all at the apartments, which again I found very nice.
The restaurant looked very new and the food was reasonable if you were willing to wait (sometimes upto 1 hour). Even if you were the only people dining there, you didn’t get served for at least 10 minutes, which got a little annoying after a couple of days.

On arrival we were shown to our apartment and were surprised to see just a 2 ring hob in the kitchen area and no oven. Not really ideal for a self catering holiday, apart from that it seemed clean and tidy, if a bit small for the four of us. (2 grown up & 2 14 year olds) We had the same problems with the bed under the sofa, it really was to small.
Overall we had quite a nice weeks holiday. (until 15 mins before our transfer to the airport) The kids spending most of the time in the pool with friends they met at the resort; apart from that there was very little for kids to do or grown up's for that matter! Service was quite slow at most of the outlets/restaurants but hey, who's in a hurry on holiday? The people of Menorca are very friendly, but they just don't hurry, it's their way
so best get used to it.
What I can't understand is why they can't make more use of the facilities on the site i.e. drag the disco equipment (that’s not used) out by the pool and add a barbeque. This would equal a instant party and who wouldn't pay 10 euros per head for the food?
There is NO entertainment. Most of the time at night the place is empty because people go to a bar 100 yards down the road because it has entertainment every night. (except Sunday)
Friday afternoon 15 mins before our coach was due to arrive something much more serious was bought to our attention. Our son was playing with some friends on the staircase (as kids do!) and fell about 15 feet headfirst onto the paving below and was out cold. The paramedics took him & my wife of to hospital and I stayed at the resort with the police in attendance. It was noted that the railings were loose and part of them had come off because they weren’t fixed; I found I could move the railings about 6-8 inches either way. Looking around the rest of the resort there are a minefield of things just waiting to happen: raised paving, no hand rail around the pool, no lifeguard.
If you do go the this resort or any other always get insurance to cover for any event
because as we found out even in the last few moments anything can happen.

we have just returned from a relaxing and enjoyable break at the apts. They are set behind, at right-angles to, the main restaurant, swimming pool etc, so you have a road in front of your terrace, and a pedestrian street (shops, restaurants) behind. The accom was well-supplied, TV DVD fan. iron etc - no extra charges. The holiday was v cheap, so we were able to hire a car to see more of Menorca. Loved it, especially small coves, Ciutedella and Mahon. It is quiet, perhaps more suited to mature travellers, but excellent value for money.
