Stayed here last week with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed our stop.
Hotel is well looked after and maintained. Our room was spacious, cleaned daily and had great view of Amadores beach.
The Swimming pool was clean and there were stacks of sun beds. All the shops and restaurants (Europe Centre) were only a 5 minute walk away.
Only thing I could pick at is the Reception/Shop closed a little early (9pm).

The hotel was very clean with a restaurant upstairs which had views over Amadores beach. The staff in the restaurant were accommodating and friendly.
The food was also good at a reasonable price. The hotel rooms were good with ample balcony space overlooking the beach. There was no air conditioning in the apartment but you could hire a fan for around £10-£15 for the week.
The beach was a 5 minute walk down hill and a £2.50 taxi fair back up. Around the beach at Amadores were numerous bars and restaurants which were excellent if you wanted a breather from the 90/100 degrees temperatures. All round recommended.

Had a very good two weeks at the Palmeramar. Hotel is very clean and has great views over Amadores beach.
Pool is good and has apartments directly next to it, not ideal if you have toddlers though, get an apartment above floor zero if you have.
Pool bar is good enough for snacks drinks etc. Maids clean rooms very well everyday except Sundays.
Short walk to the Europa centre and a 3 Euro cab to the larger commercial centre.
Try Mama Pino's very good restaurant and staff are very entertaining! Barbacoa is good but drinks aren't cheap because of the entertainment.
Would definitely go back with our four kids.

Me and my boyfriend went to Gran Canaria last September (06) and had a great time.
It is certainly hilly but if you like walking and beautiful views - go for it. Walking down the hill wasn’t bad at all and on the way back a cheap taxi (about 3 euro) isn’t bad either. The hotel was great especially as it was VERY cheap.
If you are planning to go for an excursion go for the safari - great adventure and lots of fun. I would also recommend the lazy day out - sun, sangria, snorkelling and stunning views - worth every penny! A lovely place is also Mogan, a small village on the coast, with fine, but expensive restaurants.
The only thing we were not impressed was the amount of tacky British bars and food. Be careful where you eat - if you find a restaurant you like sick to it. Very annoying is certainly the pestering for customers when you walk by restaurants, just ignore it.
All in all, great island, beautiful views and very hot weather! If you are looking for an inexpensive holiday with plenty to do, go Gran Canaria!

Once again could not ask for better. £813.00 for three of us for a holiday for two weeks. Lovely clean apartments, lovely staff, any complaints are dealt with immediately. Do the trip to Loro Park Tenerife, may seem a bit expensive but worth every penny. In Puerto Rico lovely restaurants, definitely value for money, try San Miguels, you have to queue for a short time but well worth it.
Flicks in the Europa Centre is second to none for British food, Tony and his staff are ace. Don't get me wrong, I am not one of those tourists who look for home from home but when you are there for a fortnight an English breakfast now and again keeps you going. Harveys Bar has male table top dancers but nothing that you can’t take the kids to, in fact they make sure that the kids feel special.
My daughter is fourteen and along with her sixteen year old friend had an absolute ball and did not want to come home. All the staff in the Palmeramar made them feel special and they were never out of the pool. If you are looking for a reasonably priced holiday with a feel good atmosphere the Palmeramar is the place to go.
Already booked for next year and can’t wait, came home feeling like I had been on holiday. Weather was fantastic, night life if you want it fantastic 10/10.

Myself and my husband have just arrived back. I looked at all the reviews and can't believe people feel as strong as us about Palmera Mar apartments and Amadores. We arrived 05.30 in the morning but our first impressions of the apartment is it was so clean. Even though the cooking facilities were minimal, but who wants to cook when they go on holiday!
It had the essential, a fridge to cool the beer! We could see the beach from the very large balcony but didn't really appreciate the view until daylight and what a view. It was stunning! To wake up to that every morning was a dream. The rooms were cleaned nearly everyday and fresh towels. We only use the pool once, as we like going out and about. But when we did it was relaxing and very clean. Apartments for people who like to be out and about. Walking to the beach takes approx 10 mins. You will definitely need the easy situated taxi service by the beach to return to apartments. We walked up the hill once and vowed never to do it again but the taxi services is very reliable and cheap.
We managed to get to Anfirdesmar beach which is stunning, Puerto Mogan 10Euros by taxi or cheaper by bus, Puerto Rico which is very lively, Palminos Park and had a lovely day, camel riding in Maspalomas and many others , as well as eating out every day and night. We couldn't believe how cheap it was. We would definitely recommend these apartments as we were both surprised as it stated they were only 2 star. Definitely go again.

Having read all the other comments on the Palmeramar I was really looking forward to my 2 weeks in the sun.
I must admit I am a little disappointed!!!
The apartments are a good size and the decor is in relatively good condition.
The pool bar is open from 9am and closes at approx 6pm which we thought was rather early compared to some of the other apartments in Puerto Rico. The bar was also left unmanned for lengthy periods several times a day (not good when it’s hot and you’re thirsty).
The maids came in nearly every day apart from Sundays and Wednesdays however the floors were never brushed only mopped. This led to a build up of gunk on the floors which really isn’t very pleasant. There were several cobwebs in our apartment and all the surfaces were very dusty which led us to believe that the apartment hadn’t had a thorough clean for some time.
We ate at the restaurant quite often in the first week we were there and the service was really good. Unfortunately the service deteriorated drastically the second week and we were actually made to feel like an inconvenience.
I would recommend the Palmeramar as somewhere to stay if you are not too fussed about the cleanliness and all you want is somewhere to sleep.
Couldn’t fault flyglobespan for anything and would definitely travel with them again.

Second time we have been to these apartments and going again next week. Fabulous value for money, very clean and restaurant and bar now open. Meals were superb and friendly staff. Puerto Rico is brilliant for a family holiday as it has something for all ages. Can’t wait to go back.
Maspalomas has a brilliant water park which kids will love and a trip to Mogan is a must, the locals call it Little Venice, absolutely stunning with a fantastic market that stretches for miles. Note, market is only on a Friday. There are beautiful little villages in Puerto Rico and well worth a visit. Be warned go to Mogan by boat, the roads, although improving all the time, are a bit hairy.
Watch out for "looky looky men" who will try to sell you anything but a polite refusal normally works. Also beware of scratch cards that promise all sorts of prizes, it’s a scam for time shares.
Brilliant place for a brilliant holiday.

I read the reviews for these apartments before myself and my boyfriend travelled to Gran Canaria. I was expecting a fantastic view and nice clean apartments, which is exactly what we got.
We were totally amazed by the view of Amadores Beach and all of the surrounding scenery. The apartments were clean and very well kept and the pool and pool bar were very clean indeed.
The staff were very friendly especially the guy working at the pool bar and the food in the hotel restaurant was outstanding. If I were to go to Gran Canaria again, I would definitely stay here as they are in a great location from the beach, the Europa Centre and the Main Centre in Puerto Rico. Taxi's are really cheap so it costs hardly anything to get around.
The Palmeramar Apartments make a great base for a low cost, relaxing holiday. I would highly recommend to stay here.

These apartments should be a three star. They are very clean and the maids came in everyday. The pool is also sparkling clean. No cockroaches found either, although they are known to be around in Gran Canaria.
The Apartments are located above playa Amadores Beach, The view from the apartment is amazing, your room is also situated so the sun isn’t on your window first thing in the morning which is good if you want a lie in!!
As for the beach with its turquoise water and beautiful sand it is very clean and all of the surrounding area is very well kept. The beach is located down a straight walk although it takes about ten minutes to walk down and I wouldn’t recommend walking up, but we did it a few times.
If you’re looking for a lively night out the Center Commercial is probably best and only three Euros in a taxi. There are clubs and bars galore. If you want to stay close to home with more quiet, family entertainment then the Europia Centre is a five minute walk up the road from the apartment.
Overall I had a lovely holiday, loved the hotel and Puerto Rico itself I would definately go back and stay in the same accommodation.

I stayed in these apartments this year in May 2006. Liked it so much I’m am returning there July 2006. The maids cleaned the rooms every day expect Sundays and they are very good. pool area is kept very clean and tidy, pool bar staff very friendly, bit random with prices though keep an eye on that they seem to make it up as they go along. I would recommend this if you are looking for somewhere to go with a small budget. You will be surprised what you get for your money this place is excellent. Book it.

I have just returned from the Palmeramar Apartments with my wife and 2 children aged 4 and 6.
We had such a great holiday at these apartments that I am booking up again for next year.
The apartment was spacious and extremely clean with maid service 5 days out 7 that we were there, the huge balcony had sun on it from midday all the way through until the sun went down.
The view of Amadores beach was breathtaking. The pool was great with plenty of sunbeds and very clean, the pool bar was superb. The beach of Amadores was about a 10-15 minute walk down hill which was no problem, even with a 4 and 6 year old, when we returned from the beach it was 3 Euros form the beach in a taxi to the apartments, which is great value for money.
The Europa centre was about 5 minutes walk which has all the bars and restaurants and a Netto supermarket, our favourite was the Barbacoa bar and restaurant which had different cabaret acts every night and were fantastic.
The Main commercial centre of Puerto Rico was 3 Euros each way in a taxi and it has loads of bars, restaurants, and shops.
The bedroom did get hot at night and there is no air con but we hired a fan from reception for 15 Euros for the week which was a godsend, but for the price of the apartment for the week (£120) I did not expect air con.
All in all a fantastic holiday, the weather was superb; do not underestimate the strength of the sun in gran Canaria, the sun is 40% stronger than England in summer.
I hope this review helps, Happy Days.
