WENT WITH A GROUP OF 10, ALL AGES FROM 12-45, EVERYONE HAD AN EXCELLENT TIME. THE RESORT WAS AWESOME. THE BEACH WAS BEAUTIFUL, THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS THE BEST. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE ROOM, IT HAD A BAD SMELL AND THE AIR CONDITIONER DIDN'T WORK THE GREATEST BUT WE HAD A HUGE FAN ABOVE THE BED WHICH HELPED ALOT AND WE GOT USED TO THE SMELL. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS GREAT. MOST OF THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY. ALOT OF THEM HAD TROUBLE COMMUNICATING BUT THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE AROUND THAT COULD UNDERSTAND. WE TRIED 4 OF THE A LA CARTES, I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND THESE. THE STEAKHOUSE WAS MY FAVORITE. NO PROBLEMS GETTING A CHAIR AT THE BEACH ANY TIME OF THE DAY, THE LITTLE HUTS WE COULD NEVER GET. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS RESORT TO ANYONE, CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.

I looked up this site for another reason but couldnt help checking the Sirenis! Like looking up an old friend! I feel inspired to write a review!
It was the most amazing EXPERIENCE - i say experience as it felt more than a holiday, we were welcomed and made to feel that we were 'valued'. The staff were amazing and couldnt do enough for us, the animacion team were fab and got us involved and became like friends. Must say Spaggetti was the best animacion guy EVER! If he is still there you are guarenteed a great time!
Me and my friends (all girls of 21) went there for 2 weeks and we really had high expectations..I can happily say Sirenis exceeded them!!
The food was good, and not repetitive at all - for us anyway. You just have to watch the food on the excursions some times.
Activities - Fantastic! Whatever it is you want to do, its available or they will try there best to make it available! I learnt so much from that holiday - As i am studying Spanish, they helped me tons and wouldnt talk to me in anything but Spanish, same with dancing! Learnt the Merengue and Bachata true DR style! haha
Ahhhh - Really needed to get this off my chest! lol
By the way.. i got back 8 months ago and i am still this enthusiatic...ok i hear you.."get a life you say..!"
Thanks for listening.

This all inclusive hotel resort was fantastic, and we loved every minute of our fortnight stay.
Thomson provided an amazing price and flight insurance all included.
The hotel itself has a beautiful free form pool and 2 swim up bars with a MASSIVE range of drinks and cocktails. Always lots of sunbeds and parasols available by both the pool and the beach.
Food and drink - lots of restaurants to choose from, 8 a la carte and the large buffet dining hall. My only flaw with this was that you had to pre book for the ala carte restaurants in the morning quite early and I kind of resented setting my alarm on holiday! All the restaurants were lovely though - and SO filling and tasty!
On top of all the amazing restaurants the buffet had amazing food and had interactive cooking stands etc. Also lots of bars, a fun yet interesting disco, great little casino, and a fab cocktail bar!
Room - beautiful, 2queen size beds, sitting room and balcony! And excellent air con which was much needed!
All in all a fantastic resort and facilities. Loads of activities but I didn’t sample all due to amazing weather and good books!!

What a Great Hotel!!
The best place I've ever stayed at. Loads for the kids and adults. There is loads of food and drink to choose from. The rooms are kept clean and so is the pool. The gym has a lot of apparatus. The games room is a good hang out for kids and adults alike.
The animation team are active, are always smiling and try to get everyone involved
I would definitely stay here again. In fact I'm coming back for the 3rd time in a row this year.

We just returned from our vacation at the Sirenes and I can't say enough good about it. We stayed on the Topical side and had a wonderful room with a great view. Our room was so well maintained, everyday fresh towels and the small refrigerator was stocked with soda and water. Fresh flowers all over everyday. The food was good, the buffet had something for everyone. Remember to make reservations to the other restaurants on the property.
The beach was the best. Never had a problem getting a chair, they were available all day long. The weather was great so we were lucky there.
The staff was the best. I have never seen such nice staff, everyone was friendly and smiling at you. They went out of there way to help you out.
I would highly recommend this resort to anyone, I will be back next year. The place is just beautiful and it was the best vacation that we have been on.

Firstly we booked this hotel as it was small with plenty of facilities; well that’s what it said in the Thomas Cook brochure.
I am disabled and do not like to do a lot of walking as it causes extra pain etc.
Anyway, we arrived at the hotel and what did we find? Yes you guessed, another hotel on the same site with 600 or more rooms all sharing the same facilities.
We couldn't use the Tropical reception, we had to use the Cocotal reception and to use the A la Carte you had to queue for half an hour or more, which we gave up on as we have twins aged 7 who just wanted to get going.
Overall the hotel was Ok. The staff at the hotel were great very helpful, always cleaning and you saw the workmen pedalling around the complex on the adult trikes, the security used bicycles as the complex was so large.
We actually waited for 4 days for a plug for the bath and wash basin, they actually thought we wanted a plug and socked fitted in the bathroom! Their English is not good at all and you have trouble sometimes.
Overall I would say it is a 4 star but does need updating in the rooms and getting everything to work ok.
The air conditioning cover in the room was just hanging on by 4 loose screws, one of the balcony doors would not work and the bath had certainly seen better days.
However the complex was beautiful, but I do think Thomas Cook were not wholly truthful to us when they sold us the holiday, especially as I have problems.
However we wait in anticipation for the reply we may get from Thomas Cook.

Before going to this hotel I had read a couple of bad reviews all I can say is what a joke. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this hotel.
I’ve never seen so many people cleaning one hotel, wherever you looked there was someone cleaning!
The food was ok, considering I’m a fussy eater I never went hungry and it wasn't too repetitive like some all inclusive.
The pool area was lovely with a big pool and never crowded we could always get a sun bed no matter what time of day it was.
The entertainment at night was alright but was mostly the entertainment team doing different dances which got a bit boring. There was also a night club on the complex, but when you go take some cash with you because you have to pay for drinks in there!
Can’t think of much else to say but I would definitely recommend this hotel and the Dominican itself to anyone it was without a doubt one of the nicest places I’ve been and the nicest hotels if you want to relax this is the place to go, beautiful!

Me and my girlfriend, both 21, went to Sirenis Tropical for 2 weeks in June 2006.
Although the hotel has some bad reviews its not as bad as people make out. If your expecting an amazingly luxurious holiday with a pristine hotel, then you probably wont enjoy it!
On the other hand if your looking for a fairly cheap way to enjoy the Caribbean then this is the one.
The journey from the airport takes about an hour across bumpy roads but what can be expected from a 3rd world country, they don't have the M25 over here!
When we got to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised about the foyer, its big and spacious with big comfy chairs and a bar, which of course you don't need to use because the staff bring you over an arrival drink.
Once checked in, which didn't take very long, we were guided to our room which was on the lower floor of the apartments. The room was quite spacious with clean sheets, plenty of storage space, living room with sofas and free mini bar (nonalcoholic unfortunately) and the bathroom was a good size and very clean.
The beds were pretty comfy and huge! You have control over the air con as well so it can be as cool or as hot as you want. Oh yea and you get sky TV with plenty of American and English channels!
The whole complex isn't too big and a short 2 min stroll took us to any of the restaurants, pool, beach, buffet etc. The pool is very clean and if you get up early enough (about 9am) your pretty much guaranteed a comfy sun lounger and parasol.
You have the choice of two swim up bars which are both ace or 2 bars in each of the buffet rooms which are also right next to the pool. The buffets are great, slightly the same but what do you expect from an all inclusive!
There's plenty to do during the day, free activities run by the hotel or excursions or you can just sit by the pool and chill. We went on an excursion to saona beach which was good but the beach wasn't the best bit, the catamaran, speed boat, and natural pool was amazing, knee deep water in the middle of the ocean which is crystal clear, well worth the money!
The restaurants are pretty good too, we tried all of the but the vegetarian. You get to see the menu before you go so that's always a good tip. Another good tip is to book early.
Because you have to book for all the restaurants the steak house and Mexican get fully booked pretty quick, so get up early and book, we had to get up about 8 to book for two days in advance.
The guest relations staff who u book the restaurants with are pretty annoying as they constantly tell u the steakhouse is booked but as long as you are nice to them and keep on top of when u can book you will get in!
All the restaurants are good, and if u don't enjoy it the buffet is open till 10 so you can always go back there (something we never had to do as it was always nice)
The night times is the only downside. At 12 all bars shut and there isn't really anywhere to go, the disco isn't really a disco just people standing around and the casino is very small and disappointing. The entertainment on the other hand is really good. Take it with a pinch of salt and you'll love it.
Remember the entertainment staff work from 8am till midnight and there not classically trained singers or anything, they put their heart and soul into it, so enjoy.
A tip from me would be to get a few drinks in before 12 and sit and enjoy the night on one of the many couch's with who ever your with.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did, it's not 5* but still enjoyable, sit back and relax, and it easy the Dominican way.

The day we checked in, we arrived at our room and subsiquently returned to reception saying we were expecting the bridal suite. Reception said there was nothing they can do, we should speak with the Thomas Cook rep - not available until the next day - we went back to our room and took out the clothes we need for that evening.
Aparently we hadn't booked the bridal suite, just a normal suite (wasn't impressed with being mis-sold the holiday), so we had to live with what we had. So we went back to unpack - we had 2 double beds, a huge wardrobe, a tv in the living area and in the bedroom, some English speaking channels & some not.
The pool area, was amazing - it was stunning to look at, lovely to swim in, was cleaning every morning, there were 2 swim up bars - there were lots of sun beds both round the pool and on the beach, but if you wanted a specific place to sit, you had to be up early to get a good spot.
The food - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner there was two huge food halls available for our first week, and only one available the second week. Drinks were served around the clock. You didn't have to worry about the ice/water as it was all purified - a huge weight off my mind!
Breakfast - The "English Breakfast" I didn't attempt, but there was plenty else to choose from. Cereals, youghurts, fruit juices - which were amazing, fresh bread, pastries, anything you can imagine.
Lunch - we tended to eat in the pool restaurant, serving toasted sandwiches, pancakes, chips, burgers, salads, hot dogs, pizza - plenty even for me to choose from (I tend to be very fussy!)
Dinner - this we found the hardest meal to have, being so fussy! The vegetables were ok, there was a choice of different meats, fish, rice dishes/pasta's/omletes cooked to your requirements while you wait there was plenty to choose from, some of it bland and it was almost the same every night. On top of that there were various restaurants you could eat at, Steak house, chinese, mexican, fish, italian, and probably a few more - what you don't get told is that you can only book 2 restaurants per week and you have to book in advance. But failing that - late evening, hot dogs, chips, pizza, burgers etc were served in the main food hall.
We attended a couple of trips, there didn't seem any point going half way round the world to just sit by a pool. The best trip was going out on the reif - we snorkeled with sharks, stingray, had a great morning - shame it wasn't a longer trip! We went on the Monster truck - up to where "Jurassic Park" was partially filmed. Saw various parts of the real "Dominican lifestyle". A great day, finished on a quiet beach riding along on horseback. A great host "Munchie".
We found the staff friendly and were always pleasant/smiling. The reps were friendly, and helpful.
So.... on the down side....what we had, was a faulty light fitting, so little lighting in the bedroom, despite having to "fix it" men apprear, they never returned to repair. There was a light switch that you wouldn't dare touch in case of getting electrical shock, a bath room which was once very nice, but showing signs of needing repair/a good clean, it wasn't horrendous by any means, but just needed attention.
The gym - what we found may have once been a gym, but you definately couldn't work out in it - most of the equipment, if it hadn't already collapsed, it would have done if you'd tried using it!
The Spa - it looked as though it would be quite nice - but as all the treatments were additional costs (except the pool and jacuzzi) we didn't bother, there was a lovely pool outside!
The Casino - Hmmm if you can call it that, there were a number of fruit machines and 2 black jack tables - it was tidy and clean etc, there was a bar there, but no where to sit unless you were at a table, definately not vegas ha ha ha!
The Entertainment - during the day, was amuzing to watch but was quite lame - but worth watching to pass some time - the evening varied, to a brilliant traditional Dominican night to an amuzing take off of Greece! Worth popping out to watch after dinner.
All in all, we did have a great honeymoon, I didn't want to come home - apart from being hugely dissapointed with our room, but that was down the being sold something different to what we had been told in the shop!
Advice: We experienced a bit of everything - the towns/the hills/the beaches - just take to do the same
Activities: The snorkelling/Monster trucks
Good for: Beach
