I do not usually write reviews on websites but I was so shocked by the negative comments made here about the Andromeda Hotel and it's cleanliness that felt I had to comment.
My husband and I have just returned from Corfu after spending two weeks at the Andromeda. As a young couple/group we have travelled to various countries including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Greece, France, Canada, Italy, Holland etc and we have stayed in 2 to 5 star Hotels! I know when a hotel is good or not so trust me - the Andromeda is an extremely clean and well looked after hotel set within gorgeous grounds. It is a truely amazing hotel for the price. If you have booked this holiday or are thinking of booking it, please, do not be put off by the negative remarks.
Our room was spacious, modern and clean! The house keeping staff were fantastic and cleaned the room every day! Our rooms certainly did not smell and I did not see a hint of mould as stated in another review. Our room was immactulate. The pool area was also cleaned daily to a very high standard. The entire hotel was spotless.
The hotel snack bar was of a high standard. It served the usual snack foods (burgers, baguettes, homemade pizza, chips etc), daily specials (greek traditional foods). Everything was cooked fresh and tasted great. We had no complaints at all.
The bar was stocked with everything you could possibly want. The bar staff were friendly and went of their way to make you feel welcome. If you like staying up late they will keep the bar opened for you even if it is past their finishing time, as we were told 'it's your holiday'. By the time you leave the bar staff are like old friends and you will definitely keep in touch with them. If you don't it probably says more about you than them.
The main resort centre is about a twenty minute walk away. There are two main walking routes to Sidari. One route is not well lit. The other however is lit the entire way and is a nice walk at night after a meal. If those who commented in a negative way had actualy spoke with the locals they would have known about this other route. Taxi's are also readily available and cost 5 euros to the resort centre from the hotel and vice versa. When out having meals in various restaurants my husband and I were offered lifts home by the restaurant staff for nothing in return. The Greek people are so friendly, something that is so refreshing. They go out of their way to make sure you are safe and get home ok which they do not have to do and when they do, they do not expect anything in return. They are even offended when you offer.
The Andromeda hotel manager Billy is such a genuine, honest, funny, friendly guy. Nothing is too much trouble for him or his staff. Anything you need or want he will get for you but in my opinion there wouldn't/shouldn't be anything more that you could want....
All in all I would recommend the Andromeda to families, couples and groups of young and old. I did not hear one complaint during my two week stay oher than 'do we have to go home?' Everyone I spoke with during my stay had a fantastic holiday. A few of the guests were returning guest from holidays past. My husband and I had a fantastic time and will definitely return. LOVED every minute of it!!!!

also visited 18/10/10 worst appartments ever all the reviews said wonderful and Billy was a great host NOT.
Damp rooms showers spewed water every where spent most of the time mopping water up. wakened up cold as the bedding got damp through the night steps to the appartment very slippy when wet. run the gauntlet walking into sidari used the taxi once they were dodgy.
basic eqiupment in apartment dangerous light fittings in bathroom. In our mind as long as billy was centre of atention he was quite happy and you were better thought of if you ate and drank on his premises which we didnt and if we could have afforeded it we wouldhave moved also
so I dont now how all the reviews are great when everyone we spoke to that week hated it and were glad to get home even that was a dissaster delayed for hours put up in hotel eventually ferried to greek mainland 5 hour bus journey to thessalonka then a four hour flight home so dont book it

A Wonderful Holiday at The Andromeda Hotel

My husband, childrent and I have just returned back after a weeks holiday at the Andromeda Hotel, Corfu. On arrival to the island on our transfer the rep was dropping people off all over the place and places that looked like hovels, at our stop (Andromeda) we were presently surprised. The hotel was in a lovely location, very tastefully decorated/designed, we were greeted by the owner Billy whom was charming and extremely welcoming.
We were advised that the hotel would be 3 Star in my opinion the Hotel was 5 Star. The room was spacious, clean, the views over the pool were great and the backdrop over the mountains was spectacular. The cleaners were lovely, through and did an excellent job of our room especially with my messy kids, LOL.
My children had a great holiday and we found the area to be very safe. One thing I would say about the accomodation would be that the staff at the Andromeda really did care about its guests, and they made sure from their evening entertainments that all guests were looked after and that everyone made friends with each other, this we found something to be different, unique and speacial relaly making our holiday.
At the start of our holiday we had a few guests who started complaining about absolutely everything, demanding to be moved from room to room, basically being incredably rude to staff/reps and spreading negativity around all guests (happy guests). My family and other guests were annoyed by these peoples behaviour.
This hotel is not in the party street of Sidari, as per Thomas Cook Brochure states. It is in a quiet, relaxed, quiet location, away from chavs, if you want to have non-stop noise then dont stay here.
On the last night of our holiday, the owner Billy, put on a free BBQ for all guests, it also had a quiz and a farewell music party. We found the owner to be the life and soul of the party, he took the time to talk to us, and really ensured we had a good holiday.
Thank you to all ANDROMEDA Staff, you made our holiday, we will be back next year.

we looked at these reviews and thought we would love a holiday there and with such great reviews at a brilliant price we booked for 18/10/10 with thomas cook. When we arrived the hotel looked pretty, but there was a lady complaining about her room been dirty and full of insects, the manager billy was very rude to her. Our room was discusting full of damp, rusty fittings, mouldy shower and balcony curtains, worst of all was the smell i cannot describe how discusting this was, there was like a layer of grease on the floor and it stunk, you had to keep your shoes on. Needless to say we couldnt unpack due to the damp and smell.13 of the people that arrived on 18/10 had to pay to move accomodation and alot more were unhappy but couldnt afford to pay to move, i didnt speak to anyone who was happy there. The location? you need a taxi to go to the town as it is very dangerous to walk on country deserted roads, forestry most of the way and some empty unoccupied, shabby buildings, anything could happen and its at least 40 mins for fit 30 year olds. I will add photos.

Me and my partner have just returned from the Hotel Andromeda, Sidari, Corfu. The weather was a little dodgy as you can imagine going away in October, but what made our holiday was the romantic quiet location of the hotel, not far from Sunset Beach and Cape Drastis which are amazing. The Owner Billy was very very entertaining, he made us feel very welcome and made our evenings full of fun and entertainment. Alex the Barman was also excellent, with his jokes and gages and made all feel welcome. We shall be returning to The Andromeda next year for sure. Very reasonable prices and great for someone looking for a chill time to relax..... thanx d & C

Our 3rd time at this hospitable complex, its neat clean and quiet with a sociable Greek owner (Billy). In its own grounds about 25 minute walk from main Sidari lively spots, ideal for a chilled relaxing holiday. Linen changed every other day, and rooms cleaned daily...what more could you ask for. Will be returning to see Billy and his family next year.

here's a honest review. initally on arrival, in our apartment, as we are non smokers we found the over powering cigarette smell awful!( not enough to spoil the holiday) but with plenty of fresh air this soon wasnt such a negative point. Billy was very helpful and seen to all out requests, as there will be things that is not standard in the room, but asking for them is no problem, e.g. a kettle, extra pillows, pot. yes, the hotel is a walk from sidari but this is clear on the info given before we set off, but we didn't find the walk into town too bad, it's all on the flat, a plesant, 30 - 40 min walk. when we were there, the hotel was very quiet, full, i think, but with adults, just what we were looking for, if you are looking for a wild, party all the time kind of holiday, you will be heading to the wrong place!! it was perfect for us!! as you turn out the the hotel go to your left and the first establishment you come to is a family run restaurant, in the inside of the restaurant is non smoking, but the added bonus was the food was greek and scummy!!! the food at the hotel food was good, but smoking is allowed in the eating area, which really did put us off.
we had a wonderful time, weather was great, and we came home well chilled.it seemed to be a couple that maintained the rooms on a daily basis, certainly no complaints from us regarding their work rate, they were on the go all day!! alway with a smile and a welcoming "hello". the whole team is a credit to billy, as im sure he is very much aware!! many thanks from us xx

Hey there, just a little message to say how brilliant the Andromeda is!!
Since my partner and i got together 5 years ago, this was our very first holiday and have been going back ever since, we go straight to thomas cook and tell them when and where and never go anywhere else!
Billy is amazing! Billy is like my Greek dad, he always looks after me, we got a little bit stuck for money one year as my partners bank card got swallowed and billy lent us some money until i got paid from work!
Everyone is great, Billy is even helping me plan my wedding for June 2011 in corfu!
The man is a legend!!
Hotel set away from noise and roadside (unlike many others!!)
yes it may be a little bit more pricey than some places for food and drink, but there is always something going on!
If you dont like it, dont rant and dont go back, simple!!
I wouldnt have it any other way!!
Love You Billy, see you very shortly (27th sept)

We have been back for a week now, we enjoyed our holiday, however we could not believe the prices we were charged for cans of coke for the children two euros fifty. Beer was three euros....a pkt of crisps were ridiculous. If you were spending at the bar all the time you were made welcome. Our sheets were changed once and towels once in two weeks, the floors were filthy, i even borrowed a sweeping brush and swept the floors myself. The pool is lovely until you get out and realise your clothes were yellow from the chemicals. The bathroom smelt terrible and there was mould on the tiles ,the shower curtain was hung on a pole that was broken and taped together. The roads are dangerous to walk to Sidari especially at night. The nearest supermarket was fifteen minutes away but the prices were a bit better. If you walked a bit further into sidari there was a supermarket that locals used and was a lot cheaper.

  • Advice: A nice place that needs to be kept cleaner, prices too high.

After visiting Sidari in 2009, staying in very basic appartments, we were so pleased to find Andromeda!! Travelling with another couple, we were welcomed by Billy and Alex with cake and soft drinks then shown to our rooms. These were better than expected, roomy, clean, comfortable and had a nice balcony. The room was stocked with all you need for a self catering holiday however we chose to eat out all the time. The Pool at the hotel was clean and quiet. There were more than enough sun-loungers for all the guests and the bar served food all day. A good varied menu, from light snacks to a nice evening meal. The bar was well stocked and the staff all pleasent and curtious. As me were there during the world cup, there was no entertainment however other guests said they were fantastic!! it is a 20-30 minute walk into town along a well lit road, its a bit spooky late at night and we chose to get cabs back from town in the early hours for 6 euros. All in all, we loved the Andromeda, Billy made us feel very welcome and we have re booked to go back in a months time!!

After reading endless postive reviews about this hotel, me and my family were very expectant of the standards, only to be disappointed.
We arrived to a studio which was in good need of some paint, but still, nice and spacious. Upon closer inspection, the bathrooms were covered in mould and there was a stale urine smell coming from the downstairs toilet.
The hotel itself was in a poor location, as the village of Peroulades was run down and disgraceful. We didn't mind the walk into Sidari(apart from the dead rats on the road)which took a good 40 minutes, but the nearest minimarket was at least a good 15 minute walk, as the minimarket in the hotel was poorly equipped. Every day we recieved flyers in our room advertising themed nights down at the bar, yet during the whole week we were there, the beds weren't changed once. The owners of the hotel seemed nice enough - if you were willing to spend your money at the bar, otherwise, they weren't the slightest bit interested.
The weather in Corfu was a big let down, as whilst we were there it was frequently overcast and the nights were really cold. The balcony was pointless, as it was in the shade all day. There were only a small number of sunbeds by the pool, and people used their towels to save them for themselves and their family (aren't we passed this kind of inmaturity?)
Sidari was a nice town, quite lively with a lovely beach and we enjoyed going there. We went to B.E.D's cafe/restaurant quite a few times for lunch, as the food was lovely, and they were very hospitable people.
The trip to Corfu town turned into a joke as the coach driver was stopped by the police on the way back, and was questioned by them for a god 25 minutes. He resorted to being on his phone for the whole journey back, and took us on a detour through endless mountainous roads, which caused lot's of travel sickness, and a journey time of over 3 hours.
We had a night flight home and to keep our room on for the last day, would cost 30 euros. We were told that we would have to change rooms anyway as our room was being given to a new family who were arriving that day, therefore, keeping the room on seemed pointless. However, before coming on holiday, Thomas Cook told us that we would have a courtesy room provided. Instead, we had no choice but to wash and change in the toilets near reception.
We were let down by the rep, who failed to turn up at the times given to us.
Overall, the hotel was somewhat disappointing, and we will not be coming back to either the hotel or the island of Corfu in the forseeable future.

Having just returned from Andromeda I cannot say thank you enough to all the staff for making it a truely exceptional holiday. Billy is an absolute gent who will do his best at all times to ensure all his guests are happy and their needs are catered for. All the staff are very personable and interested in getting to know and socialise with each individual guest. The walk into town is about 20 minutes on a mainly non-pavemented but generally quiet road. If you are anything like me, I would definitely suggest buying air conditioning for the week - it is very much worth it, and if like me you use it each night it is actually very good value for money. The rooms were cleaned every day and on more than one occasion our washing up was done for us aswell! Every restaurant my partner and I ate in delivered very high quality food and service. And if you are in the mood for a bit of fun, frolics and getting very wet, I would recommend Theo's boat to just about anybody. All in all an excellent holiday and I was pretty devastated to step out of the plane into clouds and rain yesterday! I would return there tomorrow given half the chance.
