Do Not Book These Apartments!!!!!!!!!!
from Kayla1234
DO NOT BOOK THESE APARTMENTS. When i read all the previous reviews on this website i was weary on going because of all the bad reviews, i hoped maybe people were over reacting. Belive me they wernt, every bad review on here is true. These are the worst apartments ive ever stayed at. When we arrived we got dropped off on about 5 minutes away from the actuall apartments. We had to then drag our heavy cases along a dirt track of a road. There was no actuall reception to check into, you are given your keys from the bar. The room we were allocated was tiny and smelt like a sewer. The bathroom was the worst, the shower had no curtain or anythin to stop the water from going everywhere. The shower had no pressure so the water was coming out in drips and drabs plus there was never any hot water. The was all green mould round the taps. The toilet didnt flush properly so god help you if was to get some sort of bug (which you more than likely would staying here) There was a toilet brush covered in someone elses s**t (obviously due to the toilet not flushing properly). All the back of the toilet system was all broken so the toilet also leaked. We was self catering. alls we had to cook on was a small 2 ring cooker (looked like somethin you would take camping), and a few knives,, forks and spoon. The cooker had all yellow stains on it, looked like it hadnt been cleaned for years. So we ate out the whole holiday, there was no way we would have cooked anythin in that enviroment (not that you could have cooked much anyway with the lack of cooking facilities) The bed sheets had all stains on them. The walls had all hand prints and marks on them, looked like make up stains. All the plug sockets and light switches had yellow stains round them, they obviuosly hadnt been cleaned for along time. The balcony had all drips of dry blood on and so did the balcony doors. You could never find the reps and when u did they were no help what so ever, we asked to be moved to another room and was told they were all booked up. When the cleaner came into the room, we was still in there so all she done was emptied the bins and mopped the bathroom and kitchen area with the same dirty mop that made the room smell even worse. Eventually after us being there 5 days the maid came back while we was out and cleaned the room a little bit better, but never touched the balcony so the blood stains were still there. We expected are rooms to only be basic in my opinion they wernt even livible. We booked with the 18-30s reps so we expected it to be lively but not as wild as it was. All through the night from about 1 am there were gangs of lads knocking on all the apartment doors in our block demanding partys and when they were getting no answers from people they was switching the electricity off in the apartment block so we was left in the dark at least 4 nights while we was there. Of a night there are no lights outside on the complex so when you are coming in from a night out it is pitch black, which was quite scary because anythin could have happend to us. On our last day we were told we had to be out of our room by 10am and we wernt getting picked up untill 3 am the following day. We then had to pay 40 euros to keep the room on for a few more hours otherwise we would have been stuck around the pool all day. The actual resort was nice, the beach was lovely thats were we spent our days just to get away from the apartments. The nightlife was also good. The apartments just ruined our whole holiday. Take everyones advice from all these reviews and do not book here.
what a nightmare!!!

We arrived at the Savvas at 8am passing the other hotels ours looked ok compared to them. There were 5 of us travelling all girls aged 18-23. we were up for a good laugh and to get really drunk. we had to drag our heavy suitcases through a cobbled sandy road (not good) then drag them up the steps to our rooms. check in was not welcoming the lady was very unfriendly. she had to keep 2 of our passports until the end of the week in case we damaged anything. got to our room surprised to see it was clean and tidy. the facilities were dibolical there was this hob what you plugged in to cook food on, i wouldn't even take it camping! the bathroom was very very basic..... no shower curtain you had to hold the shower above you, it was cold most of the time unless you wanted to have a shower every night at 9pm. our toilet was broke so i went to the lady at reception she said it would be fixed later , so with us not been able to go to the toilet we unpacked and had our welcome meeting. jason came and did it for us he was nice and really funny. we booked hed kandi tickets which is a must it was brilliant! after that we went to look around the hotel, we sat by the pool the pool looked nice i read somebad reviews but it was fine except one of the smaller pools which i think they must of used to put all the dirt wasps and fly's in from the other pool into, not nice! We went for some breakfast which was really nice. most of them do full english! then went to the beach, go to Cubenaro's its really good with live dj's everyday from 2-6pm and u don't have to pay 4 the sun beds. the sea was clean and so was the beach really enjoyed it. The nightlife in zante is really good alot of great pubs and clubs but don't go out till about 1am coz it doesn't get busy until then. the annoying thing is as well that the police come round and check the pubs for noise and when they do all the bars on the strip have to turn the music off which is irritating when your dancing away to a song u like then all of a sudden it stops, and in some places they don't even have music on. but apart from that it was all good. go to rescue, zeros and plus there the best! after a night out we had to wak back to the hotel in darkness there were no lights leading up to our rooms. there was a security guard patrolling the area but if you ask me i would of rather not had one he was a right weirdo!! Got back to our room toilet still not working reception is shut overnight so if you have a problem there is no one around to help! next day some one came to fix it. rest of hol went really well no probs at all except when we asked 3 times on different occasions if the pool slide could be used they were very rude and said no. It was our final night we checked what time our coach was picking us up it said 4.30am. it said wait at reception but it usually closes overnight so we asked the girl at reception if it will be open she insured us it will be and you wll get your passports back when you hand your key in and your room has been checked. so we felt as if everything was ok. we got everything ready and went to leave our room at 4.05am. Reception was closed no one was to be seen so we dragged our suitcases down the steps and waited near the pool bar which was also locked. there was no one around we was panicking because one of my friends did not have her passport the other girls was returned to her at 3am by been woken up by some drunken bar man. we waited till 4.40am still no coach or no rep. one of my friends went back to her room to try find a number she saw a girl and she said the coach went at 4am without us. so we had no passport no coach no one to hep us. eventually we found an emergency number of a rep who called the hotel manager and woke her up for the passport but we still had no coach we had to get taxis which cost us 40 euros in total its a good job the airport was near. we rang the rep complaning about everything and he said it was our fault of course he was an 18-30 rep they don't care about anything other than partying and also the hotel still owe us money from our safety deposit boxes. all in all the holiday was good but i would reccomend you not to stay in the savvas and not to go with 18 - 30 but i will defo be returning to Zante!
**** Hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Change Hotels If You Can!

I am wrighting on behalf of me and my partner and our 2 friends who recently came back from a holiday booked with Thomas Cook. We booked for 2weeks, Aug 3rd 2008 – Aug 17th 2008.. This was booked via club 18-30. The ‘wild’ holidays that are so much advertised. Unfortunately we are extremely cross with the hotel & the reps. Also the brochure for portraying such a difference in standard !! To begin with on arrival the receptionist wasn’t expecting us, she almost looked annoyed to see us. There was no happy welcoming what so ever, we were just told to hand over our passports and given our key. After finally accepting we had arrived, I and my partner were given our room; however my friends Andy & Amii had to wait 2 hours for their room to be cleaned. Not acceptable. The rooms are described in the brochures as having a kitchen. It was more like camping without the tent. The only thing half resembling a kitchen was of course the fridge and then there was a ‘block’ with 2 rings to cook on. The plates and cutlery were all dirty and rusty. The shower was half way down the wall so me being tall had to kneel to wash my hair. Also in the 18-30’S brochure it clearly states there is a Hair salon and Gym on site! I couldn’t ever see either of these even on the strip! The brochure couldn’t have been more wrong or misleading. We were told when booking the holiday we would have a poolside view and on receiving our room were stuck facing the other 3 blocks of rooms – more like a prison. There was no air conditioning AGAIN something stated in the brochure/website which wasn’t true. The heat we expected but not in the rooms – Every other hotel had air con and had we have been informed properly about all of the above we would never have booked this hotel. Another major part of the hotel problem was the swimming pool. It is a loverly sized pool and after all the commotion we couldn’t wait to laze around the pool side for 2 weeks. After a few days of being in the pool I noticed my blonde hair had got a tint of green to it. After that, all of our bikinis and swimwear that had been in the pool had green stains all over them. Me and my partner spent a lot of money on our swimwear and it is ruined. If you don’t belive it I will happily send some to you in the post. When you arrive in your room on the back of the door there is a list of do’s & don’ts which can be expected – aswell as a price list for damages which I think is a bit patronising. It also states you’re not aloud noise after 12pm as it’s a ‘Family Hotel’!!!???? Why on earth is a hotel that is classed as a family hotel on the Club 18-30’s books?!?! I just can’t understand it. This is something that again wasn’t in the brochure and wasn’t brought to our attention when booking the holiday. It’s ridiculous! The main disappointment of all was the reps. The press, advertising and word of mouth that they are given is fantastic – it’s the main obvious reason we booked via 18-30- we were expecting to be greeted and treated with the mad, fab reps. Whilst we were in Zante we had our meeting with 1 rep and then that was it. They advised us of all the new laws that stops people going out in groups (which I think we should have received a letter before hand to inform us of all changes) but they never spent any time with us what so ever. Every time we walked through the reception they were all asleep on the sofas. The most we saw of them was honestly only on the change over days. We were expecting endless fun and to say we were disappointed is a huge understatement. We were actually looking forward to come home!! NEVER GOING WITH 18-30 AGAIN AND DEF WONT BE GOIN BK 2 THE SAVVAS!! the best thing was the bar staff, they were brilliant - we thought they were reps.
Avoid this place

Having suffered a very worn mattress during my stay , on the 3rd night I complained to the manager. There solution was to turn the mattress over - hardly satisfactory and still very uncomfortable. I was then stunned to be presented with a bill for 180 Euro's for a replacement. The implication being that I somehow damaged the mattress. When i objected I was told that I should have reported it on the first night and that the police would be called to deal with thre matter and that I would be ejected. I reluctantly agreed to pay them 80 Euros. Thomas Cook were of little assistance in this matter, siding with the hotel. This feels like sharp practise to me and I would warn others against staying here as a result. Its a budget hotel and my expectations were set accordingly but I do not expect to be pressured and almost threatened in this way. Not good.
its a tip!

arrived at Savvas and had to drag our 26kg cases up a big dirty rough dirt track (while getting blisters) to a reception where we waited agesss for a room key! we were told that our room was still being cleaned and also told that the room we were going to had been trashed the night before so u can imagine how we felt! we finally got our room key and had to drag the cases all the way back down the dirt track to our horrible room. we got into our room and thought oh my god!!! the kitchen and bathroom lights did not work, the toilet didnt flush, there was yellow stuff all over the walls (im not sure what it was), it stunk of dogs and not to forget the VERY DANGEROUS plug sockets with wires hangin out all over!!! oh and the safe was not hidden at all and im sure you couldn't call it safe! also after our first showers the shower head fell off so it was like showering with a hose pipe and all the water ran out of the door into the kitchen. we were told to report anything that broke to the reps so we did but they were useless and did nothing about any of it. so u can imagine how hard it was to shave our legs in a bathroom with no light in the pitch black. anyway we got along then few days later had to pay 250 euros for a door!!! this was not our fault the door was obviously not fixed properly from when the room was trashed the day before. so we had to fork out 250 euros for someone else's doing which kind of ruined it for the day. we came back to the room at around 12pm from an event with 18-30 and pushed the door open and all the panels fell off. we went and got 1 of the bar staff who told us the repairs man was not working at this time and theres nothing he can do about it, so he expected us to go a whole night without a door!!!! anyway he came over to our apartment and stood there laughing while our very kind friend tried to fix it as wel as he could :) the repairs man fixed the door the next day but i dont see why we were made to pay 250 euros to fix a rubbish door that in reality probably cost 50 euro 2 replace! he also fixed the dangerous plug sockets on the 2nd to last day. i will attach a picture to show these plug sockets. the sun loungers around the pool were not nice at all very uncomfy infact and a lot were broken! i also got a big cut from one of the broken loungers with a very sharp edge. to top it off the coach left without 11 of us and we had to fork out more money to get our own taxi's because the reps couldn't be [----] to come and get us!!! overall we had a brilliant holiday but these apartments are awful and i wouldn't stay in them ever again!!! and 18-30 are USELESS!!!!!
Great budget accomodation
from Nlordship415
Room clean, friendly staff, all we asked from a budget accomodation. In the beginning we had some problem with faulty lights, it was dealt immediately and we were given another room. Nice breakfast. 700m from the wonderfull Laganas beach. Would stay again. Reception and bar are one! We found that to be pretty amusing. Avoid the island tour with boat unless if you have time to kill. (Please also note that Health & Safety is not so much taken seriously by some opportunists that charge a fortune for nothing, i.e last year we did the island tour on a boat with no anchors) A short small boat trip to the turtle island or nauagio is your best option. Expect to pay around 10-15 euros and you'll have a day of fun. Great local food, very competitive prices, lovely souvenirs, again great prices for those so important presents. Being Greek myself i was a bit surprised with how cheap it was. I'm going to Zante every year and hope other islands to follow this example. Would note though that most trouble and noise is done by drunken young people that i thing they need self control. The fact that they are on holidays it does not mean they should emparish themselves and others.
Not what we expected!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Savvas apartments for 2 weeks, when we arrived we were put in a room with 2 beds even though there was 3 of us and no pool view which was stated on the brochure. After a heavy first night out we came back to find our balcony door would not shut! The first of many problems! No one around the bar or reception seemed at all bothered! The pool was shut due to smashed glass but hear say was there was ecoilie being spread around!! Lovely!! The beach was ok even though it was a mile walk! The strip was a fair trek but we hired a quad bike which was 30 euros a day and all 3 of us fitted on it. I would advise not to go on the shipwrecked cruise. 9 hours of sun stuck on a boat for 40 euros! (go to the foam party if you have chance! Best night of the holiday! wear something old) During the second week we had problems with our front door (bearing in mind our balcony door was stil broke) the handy man around the place didint seem to fussed not until we gave him a ear bashing! 4 days are front door wouldnt lock for, and it took half a hour to get in with a great push!! Rooms very very basic, no glasses or plates so be warned!! Food from the bar wasnt exactly nice! but there was a maccies & kfc open 24 hours!! Apart from all that the bars & people were amazing! Cocktails & Dreams best place ever! Also go to cherry bay! open till 8 weekends! Awesome!!! AND BE WARNED VERY VERY HOT, Dont hire a fan from reception unless you want cool dust being blown around your room! Exxpect a long wait at the airport as you have to be there 5 hours before! And the airport is a [-] hole! Wouldnt asvise anyone over 35 to book and defo no families and kids!!
holiday from hell

We stayed at the savvas from the week of 20 th augest when booking the holiday we were told it was a more likely place for families and couples , on arrival it was like an 18 to 30s holiday the pool was over crowded , when told by the rep to wait by the none exictant reception in the bar were we waited for 30 minuits before the rep came back and showed us to our room which was no were by the pool ,as when we booked it we were told it had a pool view anyway once in the room , it was dirty it smelt the sheets had not been washed and the bathroom was a disgrace there were beer bottles still in the room and to put it kindly dirt stilll in the toilet , with a view of a farm not in use and a generator for the view. when we spoke to rep (libra rep) she told us to wait untill the next day for her to do anything the staff are not interested and the women who would never wear any kind of apron , gloves or hair net to keep it hygenic . the next day there were rumours that it wasnt safe to swim in the pool because of a previous ecoli breakout the week before we ate at the pool bar and for the next 3 day my boyfriend had food poisening the reps are not interested when we told them we had only eaten there all they said was fill in a report form and that was the last we heard from them i would never in a million years recommend this appartments to anyone to stay in stay away for your own health
Never again!

My friends and I have just returned from a week in Zante. Having been there before a few years ago on a 18 - 30's holidays we decided to return. The resort is much more lively and full of young groups of friends which suited us fine. The hotel itself was much the same full of young groups so very noisey especially in the early hours of the morning so not suitable for families or for people wanting a relaxing holiday. The room was of typical greek standard very basic, cleanish but quite big. Rooms were cleaned once a week and sheets changed - had to ask for more loo roll and towels ( 1 towel between 3 of us) . Curtain pole fell down in room and was reported to reception but nothing was done within the rest of our 5 days stay there. Electrictiy and water went off on more than one occasion too. The main problem at Savvas was the pool, on our first day by the pool we were reluctant to get in because it didn't look very clean. The next day we opted to lie on lilos in the small paddling pool ( there are a few small pools - the slide does not work). We noticed brown scum around the 'jacuzzi' so avoided putting our faces anywhere near the water. A couple of days later the reps came (1st time I'd seen them) they announced that the pool was closed because of glass in the pool and apparantly someone had cut their foot. That night we noticed the pool was still full of water and the next morning but we decided to go to the beach. On her return the pool was open and didn't appear to have been drained or cleaned. Once again we risked the kiddies pool on our lilos the following day (lilos and bikinis were beginning to turn brown). Reps appeared and were asking hotel owners about the pool and had it been cleaned, they even asked us if we had seen anyone clean it! Numerous groups were complaining about stomach bugs which my group were also suffering reps put this down to a general bug within the resort. The day before we left the bar staff told us pool was closed because it was being cleaned and had a high dose of chemicals in it - yet no sign were put up and it was left to guests to warn others. The pool remained closed for the rest of our stay but noting seemed to be getting done! We found a nice hotel a few minutes walk away (Pythagori I think) it had a lovely small quiet pool (couples and families) and friendly staff (they had heard of the problems at Savvas). Other than the hotel we had a great time and we loved Cocktails and dreams bar on the strip.

The accomodation was basic but good enough for a week or two and kept clean. The building offers very little resistance to noise so you can get woken up when the alcohol fueled return at 4am. The pool was much smaller then it appeared it the brochure, but then they always are. Water slide was out of order. The pool bar had friendly staff and reasonable prices. At the end of the holiday the pick up time from the hotel was 5 and a half hours before the flight. As the hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport this meant a lot of time in Zakenthothos airport. Hanging around in airports is bad enough but this tiny overcrowed building is hell. Its currently having a refurb so should improve.
