Villa Sonia Hotel Reviews
" This holiday included the whole... "

This holiday included the whole family bird watching the migration of birds of prey over Messina, from mount dinamare and other locations on the island. We watched with conservationists who aim to stop hunting of these birds of prey, of which the majority are just passing over to get to their destinations throughout Europe, and are merely killed for fun, a very malicious blood sport. Just being there stopped this hunting as the hunters don’t want to be caught.
Our accommodation was excellent, catering for all ages, staff were friendly and we were well looked after, and this was essential as we were on our feet all day bird watching. Facilities such as the swimming pool were clean and relaxing and were maintained to a high standard. The food and the service were extraordinary and the cuisine was delicious.
The hotel was situated at the top of the hills/mountains and over looked mount Etna, which was spectacular! Just above the hotel were various shops a bar and a castle, which was a pleasure to look around. Shop staff were ever so friendly and the people at the bar couldn’t do enough to make sure you were looked after all evening, and even the locals drank there and tried their best to chat with you.
It was a pleasure throughout the holiday staying in such a friendly and relaxed environment and I would most certainly consider staying again, without any hesitation.

We went for a standard room with an Etna view and you could open the doors onto the balcony and lie in bed with views of Mount Etna which was magnificent. The trip up Etna is also something I would highly recommend. If you have any doubts about staying at this hotel, don't worry as the standards in the hotel are top notch and the food is excellent. Word of warning though would be take the next size of clothing with you when you pack as evening meals are 4 courses as standard, so expect to pile a few pounds on!
All in all I would rate both the hotel and Holiday Options 10/10. The holiday reps Adelaide and Venera who are both local people with great knowledge of Sicily will go out of their way to give you the best possible holiday.
