The Zodiac Studios are a clean, traditionally furnished property set back from a main road, just enough to be able to relax when you want to, but only a 10 minute walk from all the nightlife. A supermarket is just 20 metres away neighbouring swimming pools all have free access and are just a few minutes walk away. The Zodiac staff are very friendly and will assist you with your every holiday need fifty metres from swimming pools, 400 metres from the centre of Malia and just a short walk to the long sandy beaches of Malia. loading...

Loved my stay here.
I simply cannot understand some of the reviews on the Zodiac. The guys there are great, really friendly and the apartments clean and tidy. It's a fairly new building and is in very good condition.
It's true you are not allowed on the balcony after midnight but this is a local law I was told, to stop causing noise for the nearby locals. It is their country after all, although it did prove slightly annoying at times especially when you are stood on your own just looking out at the view.
The aircon was definitely worth it, I was actually waking up quite cold in the middle of the night ( well morning ) and needing to adjust the temperature on it.
It's located about 2 mins away from the strip, which means it's really quiet at night but near enough to the action when you need it.
All in all a great stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone. <br>

The zodiac studios when we arrived were basic but just what you need if your only going to be sleeping in them. Having to pay extra for air conditioning is a joke as its essential in hot countries and in a certain respect the biggest mistake we made as it gave me pneumonia and spent time in hospital as soon as i got back to England. The girls who work there are lovely but my friends didn’t seem to get on with the blokes as they spoke to them if they were 5 n would laugh in there faces if we were trying to talk to them about a problem.

Our stay at Zodiac was excellent! We have never been treated so good while on holiday. Marco and Mike are amazing people and helped us with anything we needed. The studios are in a perfect location and are the cleanest we have ever experienced.
I have read some of the other reviews on here and I could not imagine what some of the guests must have done to make their stay so miserable.
Have respect and you will be respected. That’s how I live.

On arrival we were greeted by two barking dogs and a cat my first impression was not good!
We had to sit in the bar area and wait for around 15 mins as our room was not ready, after a 4 hour flight the last thing I wanted to be doing was sitting in sweaty reception area that smelt like a dogs home.
When we were finally shown to our room I thought it was basic but ok, however when I went to use the bathroom the only way I can describe it, was like one big drain.
We paid extra to have the air conditioning but whenever we turned it on it would blow out air that smelt like wee.
Needles to say we were not happy and went back to the reception area and expressed our concerns with the room and there pets to which they responded by saying "well find another hotel".
Overall I would give the Zodiac Studios 0 out of 10 but unfortunately the rating system starts from 1, the staff at this establishment ruined my holiday they were rude, obnoxious and totally unprofessional!
If you are thinking of going to Malia avoid this place at all costs!

Zodiac Studios are clean and some of the staff are friendly but I would definitely not stay there again. It put a real dent in our holiday. The air conditioning gave all 6 of us a nasty cold, so we left one of the balcony doors open and as a result of this they switched off our air conditioning (which we paid extra for when we arrived there!). When we complained to get our money back they told us it was a “punishment”! You can’t go on the balcony even for a cigarette when you come in at night even if you don’t make any noise and they call your phone to tell you to turn your light out! Also after leaving one of our rooms unlocked for 5mins we go back in to find other guests our room! 1 under the bed, 1 in the toilet and 1 in the fridge! We let security know straight away but nothing was done about it because the excuse was “the door was unlocked”!!! We got the feeling that they had a real grudge against us, maybe its because we hardly spent any money or time at their bar, the 2 brothers were rude! Over all Malia was wicked but would have been much better if we stayed somewhere else.

Have to say that it was the best holiday I’ve bin on and due to the hotel stayed in. The staff were excellent here sad to say bye to them all friendly.
We were on the balcony very early hours of the morning told to keep the noise down but that’s what you can expect. it does have houses around the place also and of course they want you in the bar they are trying to run a business out here.
I did smash the mirror one night and had to pay a lot but you can only expect that in any place you stay, you break it, you pay for it.
Any way cheers for the most excellent holliday will hopefully try and come again

My stay at the zodiac apartments were wicked it was the best holiday I d been on in ages. The apartments were really clean and tidy, and the staff was amazing, Marco Mike Carisa and kat were brill. They had loads of different things to do to get everyone involved like the bbq night with the quiz, which was really funny, and the food at the bbq was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend the Zodiac apartments to anyone and definitely go back next year.

I had the best holiday ever! Zodiac is great. Very Clean and the staff are very friendly. I would for sure recommend this hotel to everyone that wants to have a good time.
There is so much to do around the hotel like play pool and watch movies or just sit around the pool. Newcastle bar and banana club are among the best bars/clubs in Malia. We will all be back next year. Once again thank you Zodiac for making us feel so welcome! See you soon!

Our stay at Zodiac was amazing. The staff were friendly, the bbq was amazing and Malia is an amazing place. This review is mainly on the apartments as this is what made our holiday.
The rooms were the cleanest I have experienced while on holiday in a long time. I've never felt more welcome and at home away from home in a long time. I totally disagree with the previous review as obviously they caused some major trouble and did some damage for them to have been charged. That’s odd, we were on our balcony every night until midnight and no one said anything to us.
Anyways, I have already booked my trip for next year!

Zodiac apartments at first glance seem basic but acceptable, with most a group of young folk could ask for a holiday. However, don’t be fooled.

Save a good few hundred euros for fines you can accept to receive. They will even try to charge you for toilet roll if your not lucky. The telephones in room are advertised as being the same as a payphone. A blatant lie as only around half an hours worth of calls cost us 120 euros.

Any balcony noise is not allowed after about 10.30pm however the downstairs bar is deafening with tunes pumping till daylight. Basically they want you in the bar not in your room because all they want from you is money. The bbq is ok but beware you will be literally harassed until you give in to sign up.

The location is ideal, about 2 minutes from the top of the beach road.
The staff are fantastic. No matter what time you come in, and even if you’ve had a couple too many they will still let you talk at them before you decide it's time to go to bed.
We had no problems with fines, although my mate did have to pay reception 20Euro to be allowed to take a 'friend' back to the room. However I understand that this is to do with Greek accommodation laws as they’d already been turned away from his 'friend’s hotel.
The resort is great. It is the liveliest place I’ve ever been to, but also the friendliest. We didn’t see any trouble all week. However, a word of warning, at night don’t take out anything you don’t need for that night, and if it's cash, keep your hand on it when you're on the street. There are loads of kids trying to sell single flowers, but as soon as they’ve surrounded you can feel their hands in your pockets trying to get your cash. This only really happens if you're on your own though as they won’t approach large groups (There were 10 in our group).
For food, I would go to Sunday carvery at The Red Lion. I know that is a Peter Kay-esque cliché, but for a reasonable price (8,50 while I was there last week) they give you more food than you can eat (either that or my eyes are bigger then my belly). This is obviously available on Sundays only, but we also went there once in the week and the standard of food and service was excellent. <br>
