"Happy Days was amazing probably the best holiday ever had. Lil Chris and Big Chris were amazing.

Great food at the bar pool always clean and for the rooms I thought they were basic and perfect, I thought they were clean and the maiden asked every other day if she could clean the room but half the times was still asleep.

The Greek night is good and the food amazing. Overall thought it was a quality holiday.

Before I went to Happy Days I read...

"Before I went to Happy Days I read the reviews and expected the worst as it has been given rubbish reviews. But I had to come on and right what an amazing place it is.

The staff are amazing even Dimitri when he's telling you to get to your room when you get in!! The BBQ night is such a laugh and cannot be missed and Dina is brilliant and makes the thing such a good laugh. Whoever said it’s a 45 minute walk to the strip must've got lost because it is 10 minutes max and the good thing is on the way home you get to go to Mr Sandwich for a wee baguette which is a must!!

The rooms are a good size and we made the mistake of not getting air conditioning as it is still roasting at night, but that is money well spent. It is a 10/15 min walk from the strip but it means you can get a good sleep if you stay in and if you’re lazy get a taxi - 7 euros to the strip.

Every night we started off in the Loft bar which is amazing 1 euro a drink and the music is brilliant but anywhere is good, London Bar for a bit of Karaoke, also Cheeky 1/2 and Flares for a bit of cheesy music.

Most nights we went to Club UK where the staff were brilliant and the music was amazing, if you like dance music this place is a must!!

Ignore the bad reviews, the staff work hard to make your holiday brilliant and for me that was the best 2 weeks of my life and I had to be dragged home!!

Missing you already Happy Days!

"Me and my friend, Toni, have just got back from a fantastic holiday in Malia.

Happy Days Apartments really made our holiday and we are really looking forward to going back.

Big Chris and Lil Chris are brill and very entertaining. The room was clean and tidy when we arrived and the atmosphere there is great.

No complaints at all about Happy Days and we can’t wait to go back.

Michaela and Toni.

I have just spent over 12 hours...

"I have just spent over 12 hours travelling home from my holiday in Malia and I am absolutely shattered, but I had to come on here straight away to tell everyone home amazing my time at Happy Days was.

If you are up for a laugh and wanting a good time Happy Days is the perfect place. The staff are all out of this world and I miss them already.

I wouldn't have cared if they had put me in a tent for the whole 2 weeks because they made me laugh and smile constantly from the second I walked into the bar.

The rooms were perfect for what we needed, good size, clean, and definitely go for the air-conditioning, - and it’s a god send.

The food at the bar is excellent and the Sunday BBQ is a must. Every single member of staff gives 110%, they deserve respect.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back to Happy Days as soon as I can.

Let me start by saying that Malia is...

"Let me start by saying that Malia is a fantastic resort - pretty cheap, great bars and the Red Lion is not to be missed.

Now we get to the Happy Days Studios.

Libra advertise Happy Days as being "100 metres" from the resort centre. I don't know what they think 100 metres looks like but it took us approx 45 mins to walk to the centre of Malia at a pretty fast pace.

The studios are located right at the far end of Malia old town. The road to the studios is not very well lit and has a lot of heavy trucks going up and down it so it’s not that safe. The only bonus of the location is that the walk into/back from the centre takes you past Zorbas which does great take away pizzas!

Malia old town is quite pretty in places but it’s not ideal if you want to be slap bang in the middle of the action.

The apartment complex itself is entirely made of concrete, so is very echoy. We could hear pretty much what everyone was doing, including the toilet habits and vomiting of our near neighbours. Lovely.

The studios are described as well maintained...I'm not sure about that - the pool was not cleaned once the whole time we were there and the bottom of the pool was visibly dirty even from the 1st floor walkway.

The back of our toilet was covered in black mould and the plug cover in the shower was loose leaving a nice toe-sized hole to slip into. The cleaner came once (not too bad until you realise that you are not supposed to flush loo roll down the toilet in Crete but instead should use the little bin.

Also we were only given one loo roll the whole time we were there and that was half used when we got there!

When we arrived at the Studios there was a big dead beetle in the corner of the bathroom. We left it there to see if the cleaner would move it and when she did finally come she left it sitting there!

As to the studio we stayed in itself - no we weren't expecting the Ritz, but the mattresses were completely gone with the springs sticking up and when you sat on the beds you could feel the wooden slats underneath!

We didn't have a wardrobe, which was weird, because there was room for one; instead, one of the kitchen cupboards had a little rail with hangers in it!

The cutlery draw in the kitchen was above eye level so you had to fish around "blind" to see what was in it - luckily the owners didn't see fit to provide anything as useful as a sharp knife so our fingers were safe. We also had no forks or glasses. There’s no toaster provided in these studios either so we had to use a dry pan.

The TV is pointless because all the TV is Greek, apart from the odd bad American film with subtitles.

Our room was on the 1st floor but as the hotel was on a hill the "balcony" was actually on ground level so for obvious reasons had a really high wall so it got the sun for about 5 mins a day. Our view (from what little we could see over it) was of a building site, some rubbish, a broken chair and lots of cat poo.

The room is filled with notices about penalties and notices about activities which we didn't take part in so I can't comment about this. There was also a large menu on our wall with pictures of the food available at the bar. Obviously the owners are hoping once you see how rubbish the kitchen is you'll cave in and give them some more cash! The food is very over priced and you can eat really good quality food for half the price in Malia itself.

There are air conditioning units in the room which cost 5 Euros per day which I thought was pretty expensive so we didn't bother. It costs 25 Euros to keep your room on for late check out.

Finally - be warned - when you check in the owners take your passports but are very very reluctant to hand them back if you ask for them. We didn't bother asking for ours back until we hired a car and needed to show my passport as ID. The owner would only give us my passport back and insisted that they keep my boyfriends. I assume this is so they can prevent you from leaving if there is damage to the room but it gives you an idea of how little respect they treat guests with.

Malia is a great resort, but if you are looking for cheap accommodation, there are much much better places to stay than this which are much closer to the action.

Staying at Happy Days was the best...

"Staying at Happy Days was the best holiday of my life, the staff were outstanding, Dina, Georgia, Lil' Chris, big Chris were all great characters.

Since June 2006 I’ve been back twice 2 to Malia, I have just come back again and have visited them every time. As long as you respect the country, the owners they will bend over backwards to help you, and not for money like the previous comment.

The centre is about 5-10 mins walk, hardly a distance and is the best nightlife I’ve ever experienced!

There’s so many places to recommend, millennium bar is a great place to eat & very well priced! Jumpin Jaks, Sugar, Newcastle bar (which offers 4 drinks for 5 Euros) which is awesome, Road house is another one, I could go on all day.

To some up in 2 words.... LOVE IT! If you go there tell them you read this comment from Lee'os! Have a great time!

This was a great holiday! Everybody...

"This was a great holiday! Everybody who is on complaining should really get a life! You go to Malia for the nightlife and good Apartments. And Happy Days was more than good enough.

We had our rooms cleaned, our towels changed, and our sheets changed (more than twice) maybe we got special treatment! But I doubt that.

The apartments also had various party nights like the barbecue, karaoke etc with drink promos and they were a great laugh!

Met loads of great people and thought the staff where all friendly! Malia itself. Amazing nightlife... don’t go in October and expect it to be that good, common sense!

Would happily go back to Happy Days and hopefully will some day!

Arrived and thought that it looked...

"Arrived and thought that it looked clean enough on first inspection, how wrong we were.

On closer inspection it looked like the sheets had been used on the previous night by someone else.

They only cleaned once a week and that was more like a walk through the apartment whilst dragging the brush behind them. We resorted to doing the cleaning ourselves after that and providing our own toilet roll as you only get one (and that was half used when we arrived)!!

Thank god we are women and always take our own towels, as I would not even use them towels to dry my dog - all I can say is god knows what the stains were!

The kitchens (studio for two) comprise of two knives, two forks etc... Two plates and 2 glasses all non matching and looking like they would break if you touched them. The cooker was a joke and the fridge fell to bits.

The balcony struggled to fit two of you on, and if you were as unfortunate as us you got lumbered with a ground floor balcony.

The owner Ntina is nice enough and so is Little Chris and I must admit the BBQ was lovely, but I certainly wouldn't pay all that for those two privileges - I am sure you can get that anywhere. The man on Reception is unhelpful and very arrogant and the cleaners look at you as if you are something on the bottom of their shoes!

There are people screaming at all hours and you can not sleep at all. We resorted to sleeping during the day as it was quieter than at night (missing out on the sun we had paid through the nose for!).

If you are noisy and they have took a shine to you you're alright but if not, be prepared for the "we are going to kick you out" routine, which does happen on a daily basis.

If you are to book this complex after reading these comments, you will find out as you will hear people moaning on a regular basis whilst staying at the complex!

I would urge anyone not to book to go to this unless you want no sleep, bad service and a filthy room.

Overall this is the worst holiday I have ever been on and would not go back if you paid me!! Thank god we were only there for a week!

Stayed at Happy Days in Oct 06, was...

"Stayed at Happy Days in Oct 06, was the worst holiday ever.

Staff are very unhelpful, cheeky, and as the other person commented, only happy when you put your money in there hands for a drink at the very over priced bar.

Beach is around 25 medium pace; nighlife is naff at this time of year.

People in Crete are so unfriendly, fling your money at you when they are giving you change.

Places to eat - would highly recommend dirty nellys which is just around a 5 min walk from Happy Days, if you don’t like walking in the dark at night DON'T stay here, as its situated within dark alley ways! Watch the cars as they don’t seem to give a toss.

Pool is minging cold and uncared for.

Finally the rooms, the beds were like rocks (time they got new mattresses what happened to changing your mattress every 5 yrs?)These haven’t been renewed in about 15 and that isn’t a joke!

The sheets were changed once a week, but never clean sheets were provided nor towels, unless you class clean as white towels with stains all over them and rips in them.

One set of towels we had were from rosebys which I didn’t no Greece stocked rosebys towels!! Obviously left by previous holiday makers.

Toilet was disgusting leaked at bottom + when in the bathroom (as they call it more like a squat) you could have an all round conversation with rest of the guests in the apartments as it echoed through the vents!

I haven’t lied any in this review of the hotel, I just don’t want people to go through the same as me and my friend had been and worse still we were there for 2 weeks!!

Tried a lot to get flights home but due to there yearly monsoon, we couldn’t fly out the island!

Basically we were glad to arrive home to sunny Scotland and see some of the WINTER sun as we never seen any summer sun the whole time we were away (apart from the first 4 days). Never mind air con we were asking for heating!

Rep? What's that?

We never seen ours once, considering we hardly moved out the apartments for 10 days as we were flooded in.

I wish I had complained to Libra holidays at the end but at the end of the day, it isn’t there fault about the state the apartments were in, but they should consider there customers more because if I was one of them, I wouldn’t send a postcard there!

SAD DAYS! Is what comes to mind! I...

"SAD DAYS! Is what comes to mind! I think the people who come on here and write nice comments are the owners because I wouldn’t put my dog in them rooms.

You have to take your own bog roll also towels because they get changed once as do the sheets. God I wish I had the job of the cleaner at that place what a doodle the only thing they did was empty the bin.

The management are arrogant and nasty the only time they smile is when you put your hand in your pocket. Also they like telling people there going to be kicked out if they don’t behave for the slightest thing. but people who are spending can do as they like when they like.

Its no good for kids as there are lots of teens shouting and screaming at all hours and no good for old folks as for the same reason, I felt sorry for this old couple near us, there was this old couple near us and they hated it so much they were looking for a early flight home it was getting to them so bad.

While I was there I talked to a few people and there wasn’t one who said anything good about the place. This place is good for groups of young lads and lasses who want to party and not stay at the hotel just sleep there BUT take towels and slip the management a bit of cash to keep a smile on there face’s. When speaking to people around Malia and they asked where we were staying soon as happy days was mentioned they said unlucky. Alias a great place but this place spoiled it for us very very basic and wouldn’t put my worst enemy in that whole.

"We were at Happy Days from the 29 August until the 12 September and we enjoyed every minute there. The poolside atmosphere was brilliant all the people were great, and met a great lot of people. Behind the scenes. The bar staff, how brilliant are they??!! Little Chris, Chris and Deena were the main attraction, they were always there and never had a bad word to say, they work hard to ensure that everyone is happy and having fun. The rooms were what I thought, great, seeing as we didn't spend a whole lot of time in them they were perfect. Really hot though so I would recommend air-con! All in all my friends and I had a great time in Malia and at Happy Days. Amanda, Mel and Emma XXX"

"These apartments are excellent and I strongly recommend them to anyone wanting a hectic, loud, lively and wild holiday in Malia! The bar staff were absolutely great. They bent over backwards for you and helped in any way they could. You got a total laugh with them. The 2 Chris’s and Deena!

They had great entertainment and a bbq every Sunday. Don't bring old people or kids with you if you’re going there. The music is loud and the bar is open as long as your there.

The rooms were basic but very clean and tidy. The maid was in cleaning the room every other day.

I got the best laugh there and I would definitely go back if I was back in Malia!
