Hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is geared towards the German market and makes no apologies for it. Overall, the food is satisfactory, if somewhat bland, with limited variation.
It is definitely not a hotel for anyone who has difficulty walking up sharp slopes or numerous steps.
The numerous pools catered for most needs.

We enjoyed our holiday. Hotel and facilities very clean. Rooms were spotless and spacious, we paid extra for a 5 bedded room which was excellent. Food did tend to be a bit repetitive, but always hot and well presented.
Good choice of drinks with A.I. alot of Germans and French staying, but that was not a problem. Had to get seats for entertainment early. Overall an enjoyable holiday.

The hotel it’s self is excellent, but the location is not for the faint hearted being situated on a hill, but as we walk a lot
Anyway we didn’t have a problem with it. The hotel staff are very friendly any time of the day, and helpful with any problem you may have. The food wasn’t varied enough and as we went to the Greek night within the hotel {to pay extra for food excellent} we new it could be better.
Our room was excellent cleaned every day, all the facilities you need with clean linen and towels daily if we wanted anything only had to ask for it no problem. The entertainment was very basic more for the children, would have liked a little more for the adults. There was plenty to do around the complex and even a water park at the bottom of the hill. All in all excellent holiday i would go there again thought it was great value for money.

First of all - despite all their recent bad press, Hellenic Voyages were faultless and we'd definitely book with them again.
We went the first 2 weeks in August and the weather was fantastic. Very hot and not a cloud in sight!
The hotel is on a huge complex; sharing facilities with the Royal Belvedere. Lots of swimming pools to choose from which are all great. Room was immaculate and the maid service was excellent. Air conditioning, television, fridge, hairdryer etc, in the room.
The food was very good, though a little hectic at meal times. There was no proper system in the dining room and it was a bit of a free for all ... a bit like a school canteen!
The drinks on the all inclusive (gold band) were excellent. Definitely not watered down and the soft drinks were also very good. Day-time snacks were also very good.
For a nice evening out - go out through the "back gate" and walk approximately 10 minutes into the village of Koutouloufari. A lovely Cretan village with excellent restaurants.
Star Beach Water Park is down the hill on the other side of the road. A big party venue for the teenagers etc, but further into the park are some children’s slides and pools. A great day out - and you pay only for the hire of the loungers.
A good boat trip (booked through the hotel) was to Sissi. Excellent value for money - 15 euros each. You called off at Malia water slides and were given a light snack and fruit ... and then on to the beautiful natural harbour of Sissi. A full afternoon out.
Entertainment at the hotel was very amateur, catering mainly for the German and Dutch visitors. Our young daughter went to the Kids Club one day and as nobody spoke English, she wouldn't stay!
We did meet a lovely family who arrived at the same time as us (hello Head family!)And we spent a few nights enjoying their company.
Overall, a great hotel with excellent facilities and in a very good location.
