Holiday Inn Venice Hotel

All in all it was ok. I went there with the idea of having a great new year and getting away from the same old same old London has to offer.
Having ventured into Venezia St. Lucia, the heart of Venice, it was cold, wet, very expensive and we ended up getting completely lost trying to find our way to St. Marks square. The last train back to our hotel was at 12.38 and if we missed it, it was night sleeping on the streets. So at 11.40 we decided to make our way back through the windy back streets in order to ensure we got home ok. Ended celebrating midnight on a train going home. All for the bargain price of £500.
The following days were nice as we went back and found that the shops were no longer priced at a 300% mark up and the sun was beginning to creep through the clouds. Going down the river in a gondola was always going to be nice but for nearly £60?! not again.
All I can say is be very familiar with the area by the time you get there and have lots of time to plan before you leave.
