This Hotel was advertised as 4 Star and this was definitely not the case! We were advised to use well known e.g. Hilton, Marriott hotels but chose this for value for money. £389.
The local alcoholic drinks were dreadful apart from the beer, the food was plentiful, fresh omelette for breakfast, plenty of fruit. However everyone of our party (a healthy bunch of health care professionals) had stomach upset, one of the party being very ill for 5 days of the 7.
Positively, the rooms were very basic but cleaned every day. Bottled water was provided every day. All rooms had fridges. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The hotel was mostly full of Russians and Germans. There were very few Brits. Those we met were also complaining of the food and general standards.
Despite taking Egyptian Pounds the preferred method of tipping was with Sterling or Euro. Be prepared to be badgered by Egyptians selling anything from Massage to Scuba diving. You need to be resilient in saying no.
