Have just got back from the Ariadne in Tsilivi, I was very impressed by the quality of this hotel. This hotel is excellent value for money and the view from our balcony was fantastic, really worth the hill you have to walk up. This hotel probably would not be suitable for... more

have been staying in tsilivi for 10 years and this is by far the best. the rooms are spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean, cleaned on a daily basis. the pool and bar area is superb with beautifull views.the climb up the hill is well worth it. came in may and enjoyed it so much have booked again for the end of august.

my partner and i stayed at the ariadne with our 15mth old boy. i agree with other reviews it is a lovely peaceful place to stay, apart from that bloody STEEP hill that leads too it. Its absalute torture trying to push the buggy up when the sun is beating down on your head.... more

I echo the other reviews. A superb SC hotel. Up a quiet lane yet a 10 minute walk to the bars and restaurants below. Fantastic sea views from ALL rooms, with olive groves in the foreground. Powerful shower, bath, TV, microwave, toaster, and even a second set of balcony... more

I promised I would write a review to let everyone know how great this place is (not that there seems to be a problem filling the rooms!), plus the place is so good it deserves more than just the one review it has here. There is not one thing we could fault about these... more

Great Holiday
We loved out time at the Ariadne! The hotel is small but great! Its clean, the pool is small but was never busy (sept 2007) Staff are friendly and helpful Resort is great, loads of restuaruant/bars but no horrible clubs No noise from any bars but a little from surrounding rooms The hill - yes its steep but its not that bad. Beach is amazing, 100% sandy, very shallow. We will return!!! The airport was great for arrivals but the worst place on earth for departures. I have however seen somewhere that the new departures terminal is now open (april 2008)
Perfect Greek appartments
Just back from a weeks stay at the Ariadne and we loved it there. I have been to Greece a few times and I can honestly say this is the best accommodation I have stayed in, the apartments were roomy, exceptionally clean and every single one has a balcony and amazing sea view. The showers are powerful and there are even shower curtains, which by Greek standards make this 5*!! The pool is great, although a little chilly! There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone so no rush in the morning to reserve that prime spot. The location of this place is great, yes it is up a hill, however this means you are away from the noise of the main strip, it also means you get the great views and a nice breeze. It wouldn’t be ideal for people with walking problems but other than that there is no reason to complain, just a 5 minute up hill stint. The people who run this are really friendly, although I think this depends on how involved you want to be with them. Some people spent a lot of time with the owners in the bar and they seemed to get on really well. We chose to spend more time in the resort bars so didn’t get overly involved, however the owners chatted when you did see them and they were lovely when we spoke to them. I am happy to answer any questions on this place or the resort as I loved it there :o)
Excellent hotel but don't read too much into the "great" customer service
Don't get me wrong, this is a cracking hotel - rooms are excellent, bar is great, the pool is good and the views of the resort superb with a great location but some people are going a little overboard on the praise of the staff. Whether it was the fact that the summer was coming to a close I don't know but at times they had a "couldn't be bothered" attitude. Put it this way, they didn't go that extra mile that you would expect from an outstanding hotel and were bordering on rude at times. But don't listen to anyone who moans about the location on the hill. This is what makes it great because it is a little off the main strip but only a 5 minute walk away (if that). Other than that, the holiday was great. Tsilivi is a busy resort and it has to be careful it doesn't go the way of a Magaluf / Faliraki but it has a lovely family feel to it and the locals are very friendly and accomodating.
Wonderfull family run apartments.
I booked this Apartment, not really knowing anything about Zante, or Tsilivi, having not been to this Island before. It was just for a week's relaxing break. My friend and I were totally delighted when we arrived. The Apartments are only a few years old, spotless and immaculate. Helena and Costa run the apartment along with their son Yannis and his fiance Pamela. The rooms had excellent views of Tsivili, over the pool area. The bar area is covered and provide meals and snacks. There is also Sky TV for those who wish to watch any sporting events! They also have a pool table. There is a childrens play area and small pool for the little ones. The rooms are comfortable, with TV and telephone. The kitchen area is adequate, with a kettle and microwave. Entry to the balcony is via sliding doors, which caught many people out, expecting them to open outwards, there are also mosquito net sliding doors too, which are brilliant, as you can leave the doors open. The doors are also double glazed, which keep out the noise. However there was very little noise from the bars etc from below the apartment. The apartments are up a hill, which was OK for my friend and myself, but it may be too much for some. Dont expect a STEEP hill, but it is quite steep, about a 5 - 10 min walk onto the main stripe of bars and restaurants. Easier going down than coming up. When we left there was no courtesy room to use, however this has been thought of. There is a shower and toilet in the main block as you go to the pool. As we had a late flight, we were able to have a shower and change in here. Those people we met there had either been the year before and re booked, or it was there first time and were re booking for next year. We booked through First Choice on line, as it was not in the brochures, only internet availability. We had a fantastic week, at a lovely place. There are plenty of Greek Restaurants to choice from. Stamnas and Tsivili were good, Stamnes was down to the main road, turn left, take 2nd right to the beach and along the bottom on the right. (yellow sign). Tsivili was turn right on main road, and carry on for some time, and on the right. We did 2 trips, Jeep Safari and Boat trip to see the Logger Head Turtles, which we did see, (we think it was the same on about 5 times!!) Would love to go back again, but so many other places on the "to visit" list.
loved the ariadne pool
i stayed in the Ariadne hotel with my wife and 3 children along with 20 other friends for my brothers wedding . We had a wonderful time . The owners were wonderful and pam a limerick lass dating the son of the owner helped enormously . after the wedding they stayed open late into the night plus put up a melon full of shorts on yhe house. the pool was brilliant and never a word of discouragement from the owners when we were diving jumping in or playing about. The only downside is the steep incline up to the hotel a taxi is a great idea for the older or less mobile . over all it was 1 of the best hloidays i was on .
Absolutely adored the hotel and island
I got married in Zakynthos in June 2006 and a party of 60 people travelled from Dublin to Zante for the wedding, 25 of the party stayed in the Ariadne and the ages ranged from 1year old infants to 60, and it was the most fantastic holiday, we couldnt have asked for more. The hotel was fabulous, Helen, Costas and Yiannis and Pamela were terrific and pulled out all the stops for us. I cannot wait to go back. If you are thinking of going to Zante and staying in the Ariadne you will thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere in the Ariadne.
holiday of alifetime
My sister recently got married on the island of zakynthos and being my first foreign holiday i was really looking forward to it. i could not ask for a better holiday. the staff and management were very friendly, kind and willing to make our party of at least 25 people of all ages really enjoy our stay at a truly fabulos destination. i am already planning next years holiday to the same hotel.
super hotel
We booked late and chose the hotel because it was an A grade. We were not disappointed - everything about the studio/appartments is superb. Great accommodation and great views. The family running the hotel is friendly and very efficient. Would go back there anytime.
Fantastic holiday all round
This was the first holiday I had been on in five years and the first in eleven years for my boyfriend and we couldn't have gone anywhere nicer. The rooms were large and included two beds (pushed together to make a 'double'), a sofa, TV, kitchenette including microwave, fridge and oven) and bathroom including hairdryer and a fantastic shower. The rooms also have an excellent air con system and very dark curtains, so you aren't woken up as soon as the sun rises. The rooms were cleaned daily and to a very high standard. There was a safety deposit box in the room but we didn't use it. The staff were excellent, very friendly and welcoming and couldn't have tried harder to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The pool area was very well cleaned and maintained - the only bummer for me was that the pool wasn't heated, but my boyfriend loved it. There is also a very small jacuzzi, again unheated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Ariadne to anybody but if you're looking for a bangin' holiday where you stay out until 6 and sleep off your hangover all day, then you're in the wrong part of Tsilivi. The apartments are ideal for families and couples just wanting to relax. Hope this review helps x
Everything we could have asked for!!
A last minute holiday booking to Greece last year found my friends and I at the Ariadne Aparthotel, Tsilivi, and not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. The rooms, studio apartments, were clean and contained everything we could have wanted including air-conditioning, a microwave, a fridge with ice box and most importantly a hairdryer. All the rooms have balconies with beautiful views of the ocean. The complex has a well kept pool and surrounding gardens with a pool bar serving hot and cold snacks throughout the day - and an extensive range of cocktails for the evenings!! The staff at this family run hotel are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. With the resort of Tsilivi only a 5 minute walk away we were able to enjoy the tranquility of the complex within comfortable walking distance of the resort, where scenic boat trips and watersports are easily accessible. We found the Greek people extremely friendly and made many firm friends. We've been back to the Ariadne already!!!
