Ariadne Aparthotel

Have just got back from the Ariadne in Tsilivi, I was very impressed by the quality of this hotel. This hotel is excellent value for money and the view from our balcony was fantastic, really worth the hill you have to walk up. This hotel probably would not be suitable for disabled guests unless you are able to walk up a steep hill, but we travelled with an 11 month old and it was fine. The balcony had mesh so I did not have any worries that baby would fall/climb, the owners have an 8.5month old too so felt very comfortable with baby here! Room quality was much higher than expected, the only thing is you get a slight smell from the drains every now and then, its not unbearable just a little noticable but certainly not a reason to stop you staying in this hotel. Excellent value for money and very good room, hotel, pool and bar facilities. We paid for Air Con which worked really well and was only 24Euros for 4 days so well worth it! Rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced every other day, bins emptied daily. Overall our experience was very good, highly recommend to anyone wanting to go self catering! Location was excellent, very close to town and just far enough to not hear all the bars at night. Tsilivi itself is excellent, just lively enough but not over the top, was very comfortable taking our 11 month old to restaurants and bars (especially Molly Malones pub and Menir restaurant) and we were out till 2am with her one night....this place is extremely baby friendly!

have been staying in tsilivi for 10 years and this is by far the best. the rooms are spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean, cleaned on a daily basis. the pool and bar area is superb with beautifull views.the climb up the hill is well worth it. came in may and enjoyed it so much have booked again for the end of august.

these apartments are great clean well maintained could nt fault them at all would stay there again the hill is steep but the views are fab so it is well worth the climb.

the ariadne apts cannot be faulted. we had a 10 outa 10 holiday. there is a steep hill leading to apts but its well worth the walk, its only difficult around 5.30 ish as it is very hot! the pool is excellent but get in early to avoid the kids. only suprising thing was the english guests were putting towels on sunbeds from 8am.one day there was 19 towels on beds and i was the only one in the pool,not good!

my partner and i stayed at the ariadne with our 15mth old boy. i agree with other reviews it is a lovely peaceful place to stay, apart from that bloody STEEP hill that leads too it. Its absalute torture trying to push the buggy up when the sun is beating down on your head. i think it would still be tough even if it was'nt so hot. i personally thought it was far to hot a place to go with young kids at that time of year. early or late season would be ideal. we went out at 10.30am one day to play pitch n put. we had to come back too the apartment after 9holes because the sweat was dripping off jacks head. we wish someone had reviewed about how hot it really was at thAT TIME OF YEAR.it was in the lmid - late 30's and in the 40's one weekend. do be prepared to pay for the aircon, its worth it! 35euro a week and 25euro for the safe. 120euro extra for a fortnight holiday. the staff were nice, they make a good burger,ha. oh and i must add that there is a hairdryer available in the bathroom and there are iron facilities just off reception. i didnt know this and ended up bringing my own.

We stayed at the Ariadne in June 07 and loved it so much we returned in July 08 for our honeymoon. The hotel is fantastic, the family there are lovely and very welcoming. Really nice rooms, bar and pool area. The hill up to the hotel is quite steep but you shouldn't be put off by this, you get great views from the hotel! Tsilivi is a really good resort, plenty of bars and restaurants, lovely beach. We will definitely be returning to the Ariadne.

Just returned from the ariadne apartments in tsilivi, lovely position on a hill with fabulous views, we had a 2 bedroom apartment, which both rooms were large,with comfy beds and tv's and a decent kitchem.The pool was really nice as is the whole complex,it is quite small only about 25ish rooms and when we were there ,very peaceful.It is close enough to lots of resturants our favorite being georgios, but in our 2 weeks and trying several places to eat we never had a bad meal and prices were surprisingly good value.The beach is really nice, clean beaches and clear sea which shelves gently so perfect for kids.There are plenty of things to do i.e boat trips, water park etc but we just relaxed and took it easy and we've been to zante before and done all this.The resort is big enough to find plenty to do,most bars have quizzes, karoke, or entertainment or there is a bar at the ariadne if you just want to stay put.
Back to the ariadne it is up quite a steep hill which is hard work when hot, it was over 40 when we were there but worth it just for the views, the rooms also have mosito nets on a seperate set of sliding doors .
The only downside we had was that unless you wanted to pay 120 euros for 2 weeks aircon,which we did'nt as i find it to cold you can leave your inside doors open to let the air go through the apartment which was great except at night there is the constant noise
of dogs barking and a cockerial nearby this went on for hours and kept us awake, but apart from shutting all the doors and roasting there was no getting away from the noise so i needed a few drinks to help me sleep.Also for the first 10 days there were no children in the complex so lovely and peaceful but this did change toward the end of our hols and as pool is'nt overly large was a bit of a pain with lilo's and balls being thrown around, but the kids were breaking p from school so i guess it's like that through the school hols.But overall we really liked it here and would go back,and first choice rep sarah was lovely...

I echo the other reviews. A superb SC hotel. Up a quiet lane yet a 10 minute walk to the bars and restaurants below. Fantastic sea views from ALL rooms, with olive groves in the foreground. Powerful shower, bath, TV, microwave, toaster, and even a second set of balcony doors with mosquito netting instead of windows. The beds are comfortable too.
It's all clean and well-maintained - new looking.
The staff were always on hand at the pool bar, friendly if casual.
Snacks, cooked breakfasts and cocktails are all available at a very reasonable price. There is internet access in the bar.
Aircraft go over now and again, but not at night, and they are not frequent and not worth a second thought.
They have a web site ariadnehotel.com, but I believe you need to go via First Choice for this hotel (this year anyway) and you will need to book early if you want to get it - such is this accommodation's popularity with all who go there.
If you go to Zante, please remember that the loggerhead turtles have become endangered because of their treatment by ignorant and selfish tourists and locals alike. Although this does not apply to Tsilivi itself, if you go to the beaches where the turtles nest, please abide by the guidelines for using the beaches without disturbing the nests, which means only walking and sitting near the sea and not pushing in beach umbrellas - this is because the eggs are beneath the sand. We saw some people right at the back of one beach, trampling on the place where the nests are, just to get a bit of shade from the cliffs. Do not be one of these selfish pigs if you go to Zante.

I promised I would write a review to let everyone know how great this place is (not that there seems to be a problem filling the rooms!), plus the place is so good it deserves more than just the one review it has here.
There is not one thing we could fault about these studios and apartments; the rooms were kept in good condition, cleaned on a daily basis with TV, shower in bath, hairdryer and balconies with the most perfect views.
The pool area was clean, tidy, and safe, even for the few young 'uns that were running about but was mostly quiet and relaxing for those days of roasting yourself on a sunbed.
The bar and food area was clean (with a good selection of food and drinks which always went down well!).
All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, even to the wee hours of the morning (sorry Pamela and Yianni!), nothing was too much for any of them if you wanted anything.
I personally think it was the best located hotel in Tsilivi; away from the road (and nutters on mopeds) yet just up a very slight hill from all the bars and restaurants (5 minute walk max).
Tsilivi itself is just pure tourism; bars, restaurants / tavernas, shops and small parks for the kids; perfect for a relaxing holiday on a beautiful island. A couple of the bars seemed to be busier than others but for the time of year all seemed to be still fairly quiet (although as far as I know this could be as busy as it gets but it suited us to the ground).
I would definitely recommend Ariadne and would definitely return, thank you for a perfect holiday.
