Wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel/apartment but on arrival was pleasantly surprised.
The room was quite modern and very clean. Also when we arrived the weather was awful so was very handy to have a DVD player & TV in the room.
The pool was small but was efficient. The only bad thing about this hotel/apartment complex was the annoying pool boy!

5 of us stayed in the Hotel Locanda in Argassi 7th July for two weeks. On arriving at the apartments we thought the swimming pool was very small, but as the 2weeks passed our opinion changed as much of the time we were the only people in the pool.
Restaurants and bars in the area were lovely, id recommend Zorba's grill, they make the best kebabs! Nightlife was good, magic mushroom was lively, although we went into Laganas most nights as it was more geared towards our age group, and was great craic. Zante was great for water sports as the prices were reasonable, and we also rented out quad bikes for a cheap enough price 30euro for the day.
The beach at Argassi however was disappointing as it was very stony but there is a courtesy bus to St. Nicholas beach was brilliant. All in all we enjoyed our stay in Argassi and would definitely go back again!

Have just returned from a great holiday at this small hotel. Exceptionally clean with sheets changed almost every day and towels every two days - unusual for a small hotel in Greece. Breakfast very basic and sometimes the milk was off - better using the snack bar for an English breakfast. Positioned right on the beach at Argassi and only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. Beach similar to private cove because of the rocks on either side but sea very shallow at these points and able to walk round them. Snack bar at hotel good - but some foods not available during the two weeks I stayed there and some of the blaring music was suspect!! - maybe an age thing! Very friendly outdoor bar for evenings - entertainment could have been better but in all fairness bar was usually quite busy. A bit of noise from the main road but you soon got used to that whether in side sea view rooms or not. All in all a very friendly hotel with exceptionally friendly staff especially Susan on reception.
Some great restaurants in resort notably Stars, Aphrodite and Ethnic. A variety of bars - some for the younger holidaymakers - with live music till 12 midnight when the music outside then stopped. We went to Artemis which was a good all rounder for families, singles, young and old alike. Resort had a good variety of shops - enough for souvenirs, everyday items, etc. Good supermarket across the road from the hotel that sold everything you could possibly imagine - even sticky tape!
For an excellent holiday and some cheap prices for meals and drinks you couldn’t get better.

After reading the other comments I can only think that I was staying at a different Locanda Hotel and in a different Argassi. Possibly it was end of season but the hotel was old, tired and the rooms were small and cramped. The standard of cleaning was poor and in fact we decided that it was easier to clean our own bathroom as the cleaners did not seem to touch it. This hotel is rated as 3 star by Libra but I would urge them to re-examine that as I wouldn't give it 1 star.
Argassi was also disappointing. It appears that they do not use rubbish bins in this resort as piles of rubbish accumulate on the street and it is not collected until it is almost shoulder high. We did not see any rats but I am sure that they must be there.
The restaurants were disappointing with the exception of the Premier and the Big Plate. All of the others we tried just did not come up to the standards that we have experienced in some of the other Greek Islands that we have visited.
Two good things about the holiday were the day trip to Kefalonia, well worth it, and Floca's snack bar (just up the road from the hotel). Alex, his wife and Andreas made people very welcome and served delicious crepes and other snacks. They were also extremely good value.
All in all, not a brilliant holiday but at least the sun shone and the beer was cold so I gave it a score of 2.
