Stayed in Golden Gate and when we arrived we were welcomed nicely by the reception staff who then took our bags up to our room.
Rooms were very clean and too a very high standard. Food was lovely and drink was reasonably cheap!
We were a 5 minute walk from the beach which was great and everyday we passed a fruit stall which had the most beautiful fruit ever!
The only complaint I would have about Golden Gate is that it lacked in entertainment both during the day and at night. It did however host a BBQ night which turned out to be a great night's craic, setting us up for hitting bar street later that night.
I would like to thank the staff for their hospitality while we were there especially the Security Man (Fat Joe as we called him) who brought us food every time we came back from a night out.
The best thing about this holiday wasn’t just the apartments, staff, weather or nights out, it was that we made friends that have now become close friends to me and my mate. If they weren’t there on holiday the same time as us, it wouldn’t have been the same!

Nice clean Hotel, located within a 3 minute walk to the very popular ladies beach.
Hotel staff very friendly.
The Hotel caters towards Irish and Turkish holiday makers.
Hotel price seemed very reasonable 50 TL per night, however Safe deposit boxes and air conditioning are extra and work out to be around 40 Euros per week.
Prices for food, drink and excursions are rising all the time and they are almost up to other European holiday destinations which is a shame.
One more good point to mention is that this area of Kusadasi is sprayed every night with insecticide to keep the mosquitoes to a minimum.

This time round at Goldengate wasn't how I expected it to be going on how good a time I had the previous year.
Nice hotel and staff were nice, though some staff (new to me) only got into conversations with certain people and would tend to ignore others.
We had to move rooms, when we got there we found we had no handle on the door of our balcony, the floor was dirty and a bed was missing, we had no problem with the rep, she was very helpful and got us moved to a better room, but the staff unfortunately weren’t that helpful about it though.
I felt this year, coming from Northern Ireland that I had to be Irish or were Celtic or green white and gold top before anyone, staff or some other guests would speak to us. I get on very well with all kinds of people, but unfortunately there were a few that wouldn’t speak to you, but rather speak about you if they knew you carried a British passport!!
I didn’t let that ruin my holiday though, in fairness I did have a good time, but don’t think I'd go back to Goldengate though.
Would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t like people from Northern Ireland!! But unfortunately, us Northern Irish are looked down on at this hotel, by a number of the staff.
Maybe next year we'll come back to Kusadasi, I hear Carina Studios is quite nice!!

I stayed in Golden Gate of August of this year and the only complaint I had was some of the staff i.e. a lad on reception. He was quite rude and pass remarkable.
The apartments themselves were fine quite basic but they were clean enough. The food wasn’t they best though so I wouldn’t rate it myself but overall I liked it and yes I probably would go back!!

We didn’t know where we were going to be but after an exhausting 15 hour journey arrived at the Golden Gate. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were really close to the beach. The room although basic was perfectly adequate for the two of us but the bathroom/kitchen arrangement was a little strange! Excellent shower in our room (1108). You only want to know about potential problems I guess so here goes!
ROOM
the floor was dirty/dusty when we arrived and after collapsing onto my bed after trying to unpack i found it very grubby in the foot area....
only 4 coat hangers! (I asked for some more at reception and "Kevin" said he would ask the housekeeper for some - they never arrived and so we draped things over the chairs) hard grey plastic school chairs instead of normal garden furniture on the very small balcony.
Don’t expect to do any cooking (we don’t on stays of 7 nights) - only one plug in ring and very limited utensils/crockery.
On the plus side the comfiest holiday beds we have ever had and quite a large room too for Turkey. It was also cool at night due to the balconies facing outwards from the building - had they faced the pool they would be far too hot at night.
HOTEL
towel on lounger syndrome very evident with no sign of occupants........
Mostly very friendly bar staff.
Loud music around the pool from midday and "evicted" from pool area around 6pm so staff could prepare for evening entertainment - not too unpleasant but we preferred the beach!
Safe deposit boxes available -we didn’t get round to it.
Drink prices - 5ytl for a beer - come on guys it’s 2.5 everywhere else! The only time we drank there was during happy hour because of this and so did not really take part in any of the laid on entertainment.
In all we had a good holiday, no real complaints apart from the prices seem to hiked considerably from last time we were in Turkey - 3 years ago we stayed in Dalyan and struggled to spend £50 in 3 days and in Kusadasi it seems to just slip through your fingers like sand. Needless to say we under budgeted and had to get out more money from the ATM - TWICE.
I would not put anyone off going here but it’s also not top of my list and were we faced with the same option again we wouldn’t refuse to go back. Hope these opinions are of some use. I will answer any questions as honestly as I can!

We arrived late Monday night and the first thing I noticed was how lovely the place looked, all lit up!
The room was basic but very comfortable.. and clean!
The view from the back balcony wasn’t much but from the front the pool and the surroundings were fantastic.
This was my first time in Turkey. I found the people to be quite different, some you could tell were just being nice to get your money, but my girlfriend and I were fortunate to meet some genuine nice Turkish guys who worked in a restaurant down at the beach, (at the Sunday hotel. Very recommended!)
The staff at golden gate were fantastic! Charlie, Kevin, Sergi and Micky were all good fun and I've kept in contact with them.
We enjoyed ourselves so much we are going back on the 18th September 05, cant wait!
Would def recommend Kusadasi to anyone, Goldengate is FAB and I cant wait to get back.
Everything is so cheap, people are 1st class, regardless of what anyone who HASN'T been says!!
Hope this is helpful

My husband and i have just returned from staying at the Golden Gate (End June 2011).
We both thought it was a low standard, very basic, no tea/coffee facilities. Had a kettle and a little hot plate but No cups nor plates, very odd.In a week our room was cleaned 3 times and even then not till evening time. Most of all was the nightime noise. Loud music coming from the pool bar and just couldn't get away from it.Sometimes till 3-4 am.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We shall not be staying there again.
