Kassandra Hotel

Enjoying the best of both worlds, Kassandra Hotel is situated directly on the excellent beach in Bitez and is an idyllic spot for beach lovers. Right on the lovely sandy beach the property is only 150 metres from the resort centre. The bright lights of Gumbet are 3 klms. away and served by local dolmus (directly outside the hotel) every 20 minutes.

Before went on holiday we lokoed at this website... BIG MISTAKE. The reviews on here filled myself and my partner with dread, however when we arrived, we were pleasantly suprised.
The hotel room itself was fine, we had clean towels, clean sheets and a clean room, what more can you ask for?? the shower worked, the toilet worked, although it took us a while to figure out that you had to turn a valve in order for the water to run in order for it to flush.
The pool was nice, and there were plenty of sunbeds.
The only thing that put a dampner on the holiday, and which to some is quite a big thing is that money was taken from our room. The money was kept in our suitcase in the zip compartment, and on the one and only day i forgot to lock my case, money was taken, in total 50 lira. the money was seperated into two envelopes as some was our money for duty free. anyway half was taken from one envelope the other half of the money from the other. when we reported this to reception he accused us of lying, stating that anyone who was going to steal money would take the whole lot, however i beg to differ, if i were to steal money from someone it would seem sensible to me to take it in smaller quatities regularly hoping the owner of the money would not notice than take thew whole lot. the receptionist informed us we could phone the police, we did not do this as personally i dont find the idea of beibg interrogated by the turkish police that appealing!! it turned another guest had had 80 lira taken, now i wish we had reported it. after this incident we refused to allow the cleaners into our room. some might say that the fact that we did not use a safe is to blame for the money being taken, and perhaps it was our own fault, however this does not excuse someone rifling through somebodies suitcase.
The staff were all very friendly, except for the receptionist mentioned above.
The food was okay, breakfast was continental which did not appeal to me, however you could get by eating the evening meal, however they did not serve this until 8 at night!!

All in all considering that my partner and i only paid £12 between us per night for 14days, i dont think we can complain too much. if you pay pittence you cant expect to be staying in the ritz.

AS MYSELF AND MY PARTNER ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL IMMEDIATELY THE STAFF WERE HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND TIDY AND LOOKED AS IF IT HAD BEEN RECENTLY DECORATED WITH NEW FURNITURE. THE BUILDINGS AND GARDENS WERE A LITTLE TIRED BUT AGAIN JUST NEED A LITTLE TLC. THE POOL WAS FINE NEEDS A LITTLE IMPROVEMENT BUT WAS CLEAN AND THERE WAS PLENTY OF LOUNGERS WHICH WAS A BONUS. THE POOLSIDE BAR HAD A VARIETY OF DRINKS AND THE STAFF AGAIN WERE VERY FRIENLY AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU INCLUDING SERVING YOU DRINKS ON THE BEACH. THE BEACH WAS JUST A WALK ACROSS THE ROAD AND YOU WERE THERE, IN REGARDS TO OTHER HOTELS ALONG THE BITEZ STRIP THIS HOTEL I BELIEVE HAD THE BEST SPOT OF THE BEACH VERY QUIET AND RELAXING WHICH IS PERFECT FOR A TOTAL RELAXATION HOLIDAY.

I MYSELF AM NOT A FUSSY EATER SO THE CONTINENTAL/TURKISH STYLE OF BREAKFAST WAS JUST AS I EXPECTED WITH FRESH OLIVES, CHESSES, FRUIT, CEREAL AND PLENTY OF BREAD. EVENING MEAL WAS OF ONE HOT CHOICE ALONG WITH HOT VEGETABLES/ RICE/ PASTA WHICH WERE VERY FILLING AGAIN PLENTY OF CHOICE OF FRESH SALADS FRUIT AND DESSERT. MANY OF THE OTHER GUEST WERE COMPLAINING BUT AGAIN I EMPHASISED THAT I WAS NOT A FUSSY EATER AND MEALS WERE EADABLE WHICH WAS WHAT I EXPECTED FOR A BUDGET HOLIDAY. THE EVENING MEALS WERE QUITE OFTEN THE SAME SO MYSELF AND MY PARTER DID EAT OUT A FEW TIMES.

MYSELF AND MY PARTNER PAID AROUND £35 FOR 2 WEEKS RENTAL FOR THE SAFE WHICH WAS LOCATED IN RECEPTION WHICH WE KEPT ALL MONIES AND VALUABLES IN, DURING OUR STAY ONE OF THE OTHER GUESTS HAD A FEW ENGLISH COINS TAKEN FROM THEIR ROOM WHICH CLEANERS THOUGHT WAS A TIP BUT DURING OUR STAY WE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TAKEN AS ALL WAS IN THE SAFE. THE CLEANERS WERE FRIENDLY ONE OR TWO OCCASSIONS I DID ASK FOR CLEAN TOWELS BUT WAS NOT A PROBLEM. THE HOTEL DESK MANAGER WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY THE WAITERS WERE BRILLAINT AND ALWAY MADE US WELCOME.

AS A WHOLE IN READING THE COMMENTS AFTER BOOKING WE WERE DREDDING STAYING AT THIS HOTEL BUT ON ARRIVAL AND THROUGHOUT THE HOLIDAY I DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE EVERYBODY IS ENTITILED TO THEIR OWN OPINIONS BUT THE HOTEL IS RATED AS A 2* HOTEL WHICH IS BASIC DONT EXPECT ANYMORE, IT IS A QUIET HOTEL WHICH I FEEL WOULD NOT SUIT 18-30'S HOLIDAYERS BUT FOR FAMILIES AND COUPLES IT IS LOVELY. I WILL MOST DEFINATELY BE STAYING AT THE HOTEL KASSANDRA NEXT SEPTEMBER AS I FEEL IT IS ONE OF THE BETTER HOTELS IN BITEZ.

We have just arrived back from our Holiday and our stay at Hotel Kasandra. I strongly disagree with other comments posted concerning this hotel! The worst thing i did before travelling to Turkey was to read these reviews, which almost made us change our minds about staying at this hotel. Upon arrival the Hotel staff were friendly and did whatever they could to help, our room was fresh and clean and had looked as though it had been recently renovated as did alot of the hotel. The food at breakfast consisted of cereal, fruit and a typical turkish style breakfast. Evening meals consisted of one hot option and a mixture of turkish salads and once again fruit. I did find the food lovely but very much the same every day, after a few days myself and my partner were eating out mostly in the evenings. Our room was cleaned every day to a good standard by the cleaners, towels and bedding was not replaced every day but all you had to do was to ask the management or the cleaners themselves for whatever you needed and if they could help they would. On the last day of our holiday the cleaners arranged the sheets and towels into paterns with a flower arrangement which looked absolutely beautiful. We had no problem with theft at any time from our rooms by the cleaners or anyone else and for the price of 70 turkish lira which worked out about £18 per week we hired a safety deposit box which are located in reception and kept all our valuables in there. The location of the hotel was perfect for us with the beach a stones throw away and a well maintained and clean pool. The pool side bar was run by Ali, the type of guy who would do anything for anyone! I must stress that this hotel is only 2 star +, and that is what i am writing my review on. If you would like 4 or 5 star accomodation then stay next door at the Hotel Ambrosia however add another £280 to the price of your holiday. I truthfully have stayed in poorer Holiday Inns. Myself and my partner would stay again at this hotel and are looking to book again for the same time next year, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but we booked a budget holiday at a budget price and that is what we got! As for Turkey and Bitez, well i have fallen in love!, this is not the holiday for everyone and if its only fools and horses and english food everyday that you are looking for then go to benidorm! If you would like to go on holiday and experience culture the turkish life and a relaxing time then this is the place for you!.

Well where do i start, firstly after reading numerous reports some good some bad and having been to Turkey many many times before we new what to expect [ we thought ]

Having arrived at the Kassandra we thought nice location, room clean & tidy but it wasn,t until we prepared to go out that 1st evening that things started to happen, my wife was just about to shower when the shower head burst, turning our shower into a bath, then after she managed to overcome that obstacle the hairdryer stopped blowing and then turned into only what i could call a black & decker paint stripper, the toilet would not flush so we had to fill up the cistern with the shower pipe to flush it, all these items were reported to the management as and when occured within the first 2 days. It took 4 days to sort out the hairdryer, 2 days for the shower head and the toilet was on and off for 2 weeks. The hotel staff such as [ Ali-G ] and the waiters couldn,t do enough for you as for the so called management [Gastapo] they could all do with a humour transplant. While on holiday i have a habit of leaving my English coinage in the drawer then transfer into my pockets for the return journey home, unfortunately the cleaning staff had other ideas, such as removing a pound at a time over a 2 week period thus starting off with £4 then once i was left with only £1 i circled it with pen and a big arrow as to say do not pinch but to no avail this also was taken, well i thought its not the £4 that worried me but the idea that they was searching through our belongins as and when they wanted to, so i approached the manager and asked him to follow me to our room and showed him what i had done and the reason behind it !. He said that he would talk to the cleaners and assured me that they wouldn,t touch anything, after he spoke to the cleaners they told him that we had left some coins out on the bed and also on top of the dirty towels as a tip for them, i assured him that when we tip the cleaners we tip them with turkish money and not english coins as we know that they cannot change coinage easily but this was not what he wanted to hear, so all i can say is be very careful at this hotel as we were not the only ones to have money or other items stolen.

You may all be wondering by now that we did not enjoy ourselves,Wrong we had a lovely time the area of Bitez is wonderful, the locals are very polite and helpful, not pushy in any way and don,t let this put you off with visiting Turkey it is a wonderful country and the majority of turks are wonderful.

Please think twice before you book this accomodation. This is rated as a 3 star hotel, which has been recently renovated. The accomodation is situated just across the road from the beach. Given the choice we would have stayed on the beach. The rooms are situated in block apartments of sixteen, eight on two floors. The exterior has been recently whitewashed. The access to each block had flaking paint. The room had two single beds, a small dresser, a large wardrobe. There are no chairs, table lights or decoration. The bathroom sink had no plug. The bath/shower base was stained and had mould around the bath sealant. The shower head was filthy. There were no hand towels or bath mat. The centre light socket on the ceiling above the beds was loose. There was a 3 inch hole in the back wall. Enough of the decor. We had to approach the front desk to get the maid to pay a visit after the third day as the towels, soil bucket and beds had not been changed. The exterior decor and landscaping was unkempt. The poolside was of a reasonable standard with plenty of beds and a poolside bar. This is a lads/laddites accomodation for those who wish somewhere to crash out after a night out. This is NOT somewhere that I could recommend to anyone.

Just returned. Pretty wacky place. Found the staff to be rude - was confronted a number of times by the bar manager asking me to pay for drinks that I'd not ordered or consumed.

The worst thiung about it was the food. Breakfast was ok, but buffet dinner damned awful. Brussel sprout served up one nihgt (very Turkish....) and then appeared for two consecutive nights (cold) in salads.....

Thankfully, other bars and restaurants in Bitez very friendly with much better food.

Please read before booking this hotel, if it can be called a hotel, even the turkish people said it is the worsed hotel in Bitez.

Please do not go to this hotel, how teletext and goldtrail can say this hotel is a 3 star and also a RECOMENDED hotel is unbelieveable. It all started badly as goldtrail forgot to book our transfers because it was a late booking. Nobody from goldtrail wanted to help but the turkish company were good and after two hours stood boiling in the midday sun it was sorted, not good enough goldtrail!!

Then to make matters worse we got to the hotel and had to pay a extorsionate amount for air con and the safe. Our cases were dragged up the stairs by a rude man to our room, the room number was a piece of paper stuck on the door. The room was badly painted, the carpet had POO and BLOOD on it, the beds were small and the bathroom was a disgrace, there was black limescale and poo everywhere. The curtains were hanging off, we had three lights but only one worked, the radio didnt work and the mirror was cracked and we cudnt open the cupboard incase the glass smashed. My girlfriend broke down in tears!! The bedding and towels were never changed in the full week.

The staff were all rude including the manager. Everyone was complaining. The bar man was a rude, racist bully. All the non english residents could have as much free water from the machine as they wanted. He wasnt happy with us having free water. So rather than talking to me man to man he stood over my girlfriend when I was in our room away from her and shouted at her, when i told the hotel manager he did nothing. We didnt buy another drink from the hotel in the whole week and went to the beach everyday so they lost money...fools!

I wouldnt give the food to my dog, and while im talking about dogs they have one in the grounds of the hotel who is locked in a cage, barks all night and is neglected, has no food water and is often kicked in front of the residents. Back to the food, same everyday, made me so ill i was sick and in the end we ate out for last three nights. We were told we HAD to buy a drink with our meal, we didnt HAVE to do anything as we had paid half board!

The hotel beach was full of litter and the sea was horrible, we had to go to the other end of the bay were it was better.

The driver on the way back to the airport drove like a maniac and smoked weed while driving and nearly fell asleep at the wheel, he stopped for food as he had the muchies after his dope, my girlfriend and i were both sick, he did 70mph in a 30mph zone and went through red lights. To make it worse he didnt offer us any weed, we could have done with some after this holiday lol!

I gave this a one star because couldnt give i zero as zero wasnt available. I would never go back to turkey as the people are rude and make horrible comments to your girlfriend! They just perve over women and look at them like a piece of meat, its a disgace.

Worsed holiday ever!!!!!!

I had a great time in Turkey however do not have much good things to say about Hotel Kassandra:

First of all they asked for us to pay for water with our dinner one night. I was totally shocked, being half board I expected to have water!! I did not pay any extra. Very much like the last comment here, the food was much the same every night and we ended up eating out more than once in Central Beach, in which the staff were much more friendlier. I also found a bit of a scourer pad in my rice one night which totally put me off eating there again.

Secondly the bar kept us up most nights. When we booked this holiday we were told it was a quiet, relaxing resort. Kassandra is not quiet- the bar keeps its music on until at least 2 in the morning and where our room was (right on the pool) we were kept up late and then woken early by the kiddies from the back of the hotel. The bar is overpriced and when I asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail it looked an olive colour and tasted, quite frankly like [--]- charging 10 YTL almost £5. Alcohol seems to be cheaper than water. Also they do not like English money!

Now the room we were given was very basic, no fridge, TV, radio. Our door looked like it had been broken into (room 407) and it was almost falling off the hinges. The flies flew in the top and ants came in underneath. The bathroom (well if I could call it that) had no shower curtain and when using this facility, as you can imagine, the water went everywhere. On our last night when my other half used the shower it broke and started squirting all over. Very small and cant open the door for the toilet bowl behind it!!

Finally, we had to ask for our rooms to be cleaned and for our sheets to be changed as on the first day we noticed marks on the sheets- i was not sleeping on that!! When they cleaned the room they did not leave any clean towels in which we had to ask about 10 times over the course of the 7day holiday. AND the cleaners are definantly theifs so WATCH OUT!! I left my camera case on top of the dresser on our last day and decided to lounge around the pool. When I went bak to the room it was missing, my partner said it was in the suitcase however it was not there when we got back. Another resident at Kassandra Beach had told us the night previously of her watch going missing!! Good job I had my camera and valuables with me.

These are just a few of my complaints about Kassandra, however as Ive already stated overall I had a good holiday as we went out on the day trips and members of other hotels and businesses around Bitez were friendly. I would reccommend Bitez just get a 5* hotel and take a lockable suitcase. Kassandra is definantly not a 3*.... I would say 1* with 5* prices!!!!

If you ever stay at this hotel and they put you in room 408 - refuse to stay there! its not fit to be let out to paying customers. It was filthy, the walls were uneven and not even painted properly, the only window the room had, was on the other side of the pool/table tennis area, so you can imagine the noise and not to mention the curtain didn't even cover the entire window so someone sitting on the seat on the outside could see right into the room. No privacy at all!! The bathroom was disgusting, we had garden furniture in our room!!! We were eventually moved to another room after complaining, which was better than the room we were in (nothing could be worse) however this is in no way a 3 star hotel! I don't think the bed sheets were ever changed, our towels only got changed because we caught the cleaners and asked them to!! Was not impressed with the food it was the same thing everyday and therefore we ended up eating out, everyone we spoke to had something to complain about. Our Rep didnt even turn up, which was a common thing at this hotel (fed up of the complaints!) The reason this hotel gets a 1 out of 10 is location, it was at the end of a great strip of Bitez.

I was sorry to hear about the last two people's comments. My Mum and I are just back from the Kassandra, and we found the staff to be helpful and friendly. One member of staff was 'over friendly', which did make us feel a bit uncomfortable. It was clean and in a great position for the beach. The food was fine, although very much the same, so we did eat out a few times. As others have said, we did have to ask for clean towels on a number of occasions.

Our fav place was the New Season. Great food, staff made us very welcome there, it was like our home from home!

We also enjoyed the Turkish Bath. We went on a boat trip, which was great value for money.

All in all it was a great relaxing week.

recently returned from cassandra hotel rooms very basic no fridge no tv.enjoyed the holiday until the last day had 70 pounds 25 ytl and my mobile phone worth 200 pounds stolen from my room.when i reported it to reception they called the local police and the cleaners were questioned.the reception made the cleaners out to be the victims as i knew it was them who had robbed me. i kicked up storm everytime i saw a hotel worker or a cleaner and i screamed shouted swore at them to let other people in the hotel know what had happened.if i did not have my three kids with me i would have resorted to violence as i am a taxi driver and had customers numbers on my mobile phone.the ratings on this site do not have 0 i would rate this hotel 0.next year i will go to a hotel near the cassandra so i can even things out with the cleaners if they are still there .i would not recomend this hotel if it was free.i feel very angry that this has happened to me.

The hotels staff are very friendly and always willing and on hand to help you with whatever your needs whether it be within the hotel or arranging trip out. The food was excellent. The overall hotel was very well mantained, it was clean at all times and if you had any problems with your room it was taken care of with a matter of urgency. The rooms where some what basic but you got what you paid for, you had everything you needed; bed, dressing table, large mirror in bedroom, wardrobe, small bathroom with a good shower, we where one of the rooms without a french balcony, but to be honest we did not miss having one, as with french balcoys there was minimal space. The rooms where clean everyday. The only thing i would say that was not up to standard was the lack of clean towels, but as long as you have a word with one of the hotel staff, there is nothing to worry about. The hotel is ideal for couples and familys, its in a quiet area right next to the beach and within a 2 minute walk of a large number of restaurants and only a 5 minute bus ride away from the gumbet and bodrum where all the bars and clubs are. A very well run hotel under its new management.

The hotel was basic, but that was what we paid for. It was clean and the staff were very friendly, we had a slight problem with one of the windows not locking and it was fixed straight away. It was a great place which did what it said on the tin, it was a nice friendly, clean place to sleep and have breakfast.

The location was ideal as that part of the beach was only used by other guests and wasn't too busy. Plus it was a 30 second walk to the marina where you could catch many a boat trip. We never once ate dinner in the hotel as there were plenty of reasonably priced restaurants along the strip - the furthest was 10 mins walk away.

If you plan to spend you entire holiday in the hotel, I would say go for a better one. However, should you wish to only use it as a place to sleep and explore the wonderful area - this is ideal.

On arriving at the Kassandra Beach Hotel the place looks great, there's a lovely swimming pool, with a bar, clean and tidy reception area with safes, and polite well spoken reception staff, and the hotel is opposite the beach.

It’s when you arrive at your rooms that the problems start. The hotel was built approx 15years ago, and they seem to have the original doors, that are splintered, patched-up, the room was small, two single beds which although clean had basically had it! There was a filthy dirty carpet on the floor, yes I did say carpet! which has not been cleaned for a long time, a wooden table and two chairs.

Between the bed was an old radio console with a light that didn’t work and off this was a small en-suite, with mould running up the shower curtain, and broken/mouldy tiles, the toilet roll holder was held on with bits of paper and the lovely new hairdryer didn’t work, and we only had warm water once during our stay.

The breakfast/evening meal which is served out by the pools was excellent, even my father who is hard to please enjoyed it.

My main complaint was the cost of the drinks from the bars, they seemed to make the prices up as they went along, and a beer was anything from 4ytl to 9ytl so be warned.

Certainly would not choose to return to this hotel, but for what we paid £6.50 per person per night we cannot complain.
