Movenpick Hotel and Casino

Definitely not a good value. Would never stay here again. I would give it 2 stars. Clean, grand public areas. Quite unfriendly desk clerks. They tried to get me to "upgrade". Once you get out of elevator to go up to your room, it's really disappointing to say the least. The hall carpets were disgusting. Two big areas of encrusted glop - not a recent mishap either. Once in room, drapes were in a state of disrepair, tile flooring needed to be completely replaced, toilet water was brownish, furniture was wicker with leather pulls - really... more

On face value the hotel has all the credentials expected of a 5* property, however once past the lobby it goes down hill quickly. The room I stayed in was very well equiped and clean with the exception of the mini-bar with 2 small bottles of water, which were not repalced after the first night.... The hotel offer both a laundry / pressing service at a charge or complimentary iron / ironong board, I opted for the latter and it took over an hour to arrive, when it did the iron was faulty, it then took 5 phone calls to the Housekeeping... more

I spent 2 nights in this hotel during a business trip and can say the following; location is excellent, 20 car minutes to the airport, 10 car minutes to the city centre and located right at the beach. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, good beds, super shower ( no bath tub) in -room safe, international TV channels, good amenities. Stayed at this hotel for just one night. Top class hotel, service and amenities are second to none. We got a good rate from the hotel but found the meals and drinks in the bars, restaurant extremely pricey (e.g. $32 for 4 teas). Rooms are very comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Staff are very helpful even to the extent of giving us a lift into town since taxis were hard to come by. Would definitely stay in this hotel again although Tangier doesn't attract me much.

Nice hotel (not five star but probably is the best in the city). Staff friendly and relatively helpful. Overpriced rooms in my opinion but I got a good rate (<£100). Plenty of space, very nice pool, adequate bar and restaurants. My 'beef' is with Tangier - would never visit again. Scary place with dodgy people at the port (Police were helpful though). Didn't use the casino but looked very impresive.

I was impressed with the quality and amenities offered in the Movenpick Hotel. The room was large and clean, the bathroom was enourmous (compared to European equivalents). The lobby, pool, and rooms were beautiful. I felt the hotel staff was helpful and courteous. For the price, I was very impressed.

A little outside the city of Tangier but still on the water, the hotel is a nice place to stay but is starting to show its age. The price was on the high side for value received and the internet available in the rooms was incredibly expensive. Because of location you either have to have a vehicle or taxi back and forth to the city. Distance is too far to comfortably walk. Restaurants were mediocre for Morocco. Better places to stay in Tangier.
